"And Aunt Leia pulled a LOT of strings," Sera added. hehehe I'll bet they enjoyed it too I'm positive both of them wouldn't mind seeing Luke & Mara back together Luke reached over to pull out her chair, but she beat him to it and sat down, ignoring him. That's so Mara Mara snorted. "How in the galaxy did they rope you into this?" Despite what Kam said, I'm sure it wasn't difficult "Not "we," Mara. You left. And threw a training remote at my head, by the way." I believe it!! HAHAHA Their eyes met, and Tionne found herself leaning forward. Kam leaned toward her and their lips met in a soft kiss. 	Liz, I hope your heat is up and running now. Burrrh! Great chapter, ladies. A nice break this is from studying for final exams. The twins are so sneaky and I loved the Grandpa Karrde line about the credits. And they've got Aunt Leia in on it, too. Crafty, very crafty. The convo was wonderful - full of emotion and wit. The pointed - I still like you but I'm not going to do anything about it routine seems to be going strong with them. And, I loved Kam/Tionned - if only Luke and Mara would end up that way sooner than latter. I have no idea how much my chem binder weighs right now, but its enough to make my back feel like its breaking every time I pick up my backpack. Or does that have to do with the fact that I'm carrying three instruments, two other binders, a chem textbook, a music bag filled with music and various clarinet stuff and an extra bag with more homework? I have idea. Next time I'm in the AU GFFA, I'll drop my daily load of stuff I cart home from school on Vinjera's head. Oh right... the chapter. Excellent update, as always, Nat and Liz! 	Chapter 17: A Bumpy Start The next morning, Mara started to pack her duffel bag. Shae had already packed hers and had gone over to Sera's room to spend some time with her sister before they left. About an hour later, Mara was down in the lobby checking out when Shae and Sera appeared. They were dressed alike, from their hair fixed the exact same way to the clothes they wore. "Shae?" "Yes, Mom," they replied in unison. "Shae, come on, we're leaving now. Change into your actual clothes, please." “I don’t think so,” one of her daughters replied. Mara raised an eyebrow. “Excuse me?” Luke interrupted them, coming up next to Mara at the checkout counter. “Ready to go, Sera?” “Not really,” one of the girls replied. Luke turned to look at them, and realized that they were dressed exactly the same. “Sera,” he started, a warning tone on his voice. He grabbed the hand of the girl who had spoken. “How do you know I’m Sera?” she asked. “Yeah, I might be Sera,” the other added. Luke looked at Mara. She seemed to be as bewildered as he was. She gave him a shrug, so he leaned down until he was the girls’ height. He looked at both of them carefully before he tapped the arm of the girl he had been holding. “This is Sera; I’m sure of it.” Shae pulled her arm out of her father’s grip. “But do you really know?” she asked, affecting the Corellian accent she’d dropped when she was pretending to be her twin. “Yes,” Sera added in the same accent, “do you?” Mara looked back and forth between them. “Shae?” “Yes?” they both asked. Mara frowned and them. “Girls. Stop this right now.” “We have an idea,” Sera started, still talking like Shae. “The camping trip,” Shae added. Luke frowned. “What camping trip?” “You know, the one we always take before the new session at the academy starts,” Shae reminded him. “So,” Sera said, “we’ve decided that all four of us,” she gestured to include her parents and sister,” are going to go on the camping trip as a family. When we get back, we’ll tell you who’s Sera and who’s Shae.” “Or,” Mara said menacingly, “I take one of you and get on that ship back to Corellia whether you like it or not.” *** The next day, Luke tossed his duffle into his ship and headed back down the boarding ramp. The twins were busy checking to make sure they had water packs for the trip and games for the ride to Yavin IV. “You two about ready?” he asked. Shae nodded. “Yeah, just about.” “We’re just waiting for Mom,” Sera added. “Speaking of which . . .” Luke spied his ex-wife and his future wife headed toward them. Vinjera did not look happy. “Here comes the sith,” Shae muttered. “And she’s mad,” Sera whispered back. “Shocking.” “I can’t believe you’re leaving me here while you go off on a pleasure jaunt, and this close to the wedding!” she fumed. “What am I supposed to do, sit here and play holochess with your driod?” Luke shrugged. “What can I do? Mara and I promised the girls that we’d take them camping.” If possible, Vinjera grew more furious. “She is going with you?” She pointed to Mara. Mara put down her duffle as Luke said helplessly, “That was the deal.” “Why don’t you come with us?” Luke, Vinjera, and the twins turned toward Mara. “What?” the girls asked simultaneously. “Are you sure, Mara?” Luke asked, lines on concern etched on his face. He obviously wasn’t too happy at the thought of having both Mara and Vinjera on the trip. “Oh, I don’t mean to intrude,” Vinjera said, attempting to be polite. “It’s just that . . .” “It’s a little weird having the ex-wife in the next sleeping bag,” Mara agreed. “And besides, in a couple of weeks the girls will be half yours. You might as well take this chance to get to know them.” “Oh. Well. That’s very nice,” Vinjera replied lamely. The twins exchanged a look. * Half an hour later, Vinjera and Mara came back out. Vinjera was carrying bags; Mara was not. Mara clapped her hands together. “Well, have a good trip!” “What?” the girls asked. “Mara –” Luke started. “Oh,” Vinjera said, looking back and forth between Luke and Mara. “If you’re not going, I certainly don’t need to go.” “It was supposed to be the four of us,” Sera said. “Nonsense. Enjoy the trip.” She blew a kiss at the twins and stepped back. Luke shrugged. “I guess we’ll get going, then.” The twins sighed as their father helped Vinjera with her bags. * Mara stood next to Tionne and the two women waved as the ship took off. “I can’t believe you tricked that woman into going camping.
