Oh, I know I've said it a million times before, but Tahiri and Ryker are just so cute together!! 
And as for the surprise??  I was sooo not expecting that!!
*ant offers her congrats to both Jaina & Ryker*
But what will this mean for Ryker and Tahiri's relationship? Could there be a strain for them on the horizon with Ryker's new position, I wonder?

Not what I was expecting at all. Great surprise! YAY Ryker! Yay Jaina! I'm interested to see what this will do w/ Tahiri and Ryker. I'm so excited about this story. I love this story so much seriously from beginning till now it's been great! I haven't mentioned it in awhile Rose, but your writing style is excellent. Not many people could keep this many readers for this long congratulations Rose!

Loved that Tahiri was making Ryker gealous it was hilarious!
Also loved how shocked Ryker was at being made commander of Twin Suns!

Great post. I'm glad that Jaina knows Ryker well, because that wouldn't have been a cool thing to do to a guy without his knowing. You at least give the guy an easy way out if he doesn't want to be the squadron leader. I liked how Tahiri used her womanly charms against Ryker. Hehe.

A nice chapter, and for once the revelation isn't a galaxy shattering one. I for one think that the Star Wars characters need more mundane events thrown in to the stories to balance 'em out and working in Jaina's promotion is a perfect example of this. Can't wait for the next one!

Hahaha! I love how Tahiri is continuously getting the better of Ryker.
I also loved his reaction to the promotion... and the fact that he didn't quite realise he would be in charge whilst Jaina was on her honeymoon.

*Pops in looking all disheveled* I'm REALLY sorry I didn't show up earlier. This semester's been sheer Hades. Ryker's getting kicked upstairs. Dang ... that means no more R/T only adventures. TK must be exhausted with her pregnancy. I don't know why they separated Wedge and Wes ... everyone knows they'd go hang out together anyway. The wedding sounds beautiful, though ...

Yeah, Kyp hasn't had it well. Tenel ka is making the best though, she's never completely down and out.

Yeah, Ryker promotion was deserved, he's been jaina's XO for like 5 years. It's going to be interesting to see what he does under pressure.

Thanks, you wouldn't beleive how much joy i get out of surprising my readers. I always try to come up with something unexpected.

Life can't always be saving the galaxy from vong, sith, insert menace here. They need to have real jobs and normal ambitions too. I try to keep them real as star wars characters can be.

trust me, no problem i know how that can be. I'm not sure how i'm finding time to write let alone sleep between the two jobs, grad school apps and all my other commitments.

I realize it's been forever, but heres the next post now that my life is slightly calmer.
Chapter Two: The Fallout
Tahiri walked around Ryker’s apartment half-asleep in a pair of shorts and one of Ryker’s t-shirts that completely engulfed her, banging her knee into Ryker’s caf table trying to make her way into the kitchen. She finally wobbled her way around to the fridge door and threw it open streaming the kitchen with light. Grabbing a carton of blue milk from it and pouring herself a glass, she took small sips reliving the night’s events: Jaina’s announcement, Ryker shock, the sheer volume of alcohol that Twin Suns consumed, Layla catching the bouquet–much to Nooska’s dismay. Tahiri didn’t know how she felt about Ryker’s promotion. She was happy for him. It was a great opportunity and he was perfect for the job, but they already had a hard time dating with her living at the Jedi temple and him on Mon Cal. She finished her milk, rinsed out her glass and put it in the sink, when a pair of muscular arms snaked around her waist. Ryker leaned his head on her shoulder.
“What’s the matter, sweetie?” he whispered into her ear, kissing it lightly.
“Nothing, I was just thinking,” she said, trying to concentrate as Ryker nibbled on her ear and traced kisses down her neck.
“You can think tomorrow. Let’s go back to bed.” Tahiri giggled and turned around to wrap her arms around Ryker’s neck. Ryker kissed his girlfriend fiercely taking Tahiri a little by surprise but she fought back quickly. He quickly scooped her up into his arms, and Tahiri threw her head back laughing as he carried down the hall back to his bedroom.

Ryker opened his eyes to see his girlfreind staring back at him, ruffling his hair slightly. He leaned in to give her a quick kiss. Tahiri curled up into his arms, resting her forehead against his chest. “Morning sunshine,” she mumbled.
Ryker gave a slow grin and then a yawn. “What time is it?”
“A little after noon.” Ryker rolled over to check his clock as if he didn’t believe her.
“So what do you want to do today?” he asked, rolling to be on his back. Tahiri’s head laid on his chest. She could hear his heart beating and she shuddered a bit.
“Can we just lay in bed in all day?” she sighed.
“I have no problem with that,” he replied, stroking her hair. “How about this: we’ll order delivery and watch holovids all day. In our pajama’s if we want too.”
Tahiri giggled, “Perfect.” Ryker threw the blankets on top of Tahiri, covering her completely as he got out of bed. She sat up, digging her way out from under the mound of blankets to watch Ryker leave the bedroom. She fell bank into bed and sighed. It was shame she had to go back to the Maw tomorrow.

Jaina drug Zekk out of bed. “It’s after noon, and we only get to honeymoon once, so get your butt out of bed,” she snapped at him. Zekk groggily stumbled out of bed and took sips of the caf Jaina had slipped into his hand. He sat on the couch of their hotel room on Giju, and Jaina walked around listing off options of what they could do that day. Zekk laid down on the couch halfway through the list, forcing Jaina to jump on him in retaliation. They rolled off the couch onto the floor and then into a fit of laughter.
“Now really, what do you want to do today?”
“I supposed laying in bed isn’t an option?” Zekk pouted.
Jaina shook her head. “We might never get to come to Giju again. I want to spend the time we have here actually enjoying the planet. Because the minute we get back to Mon Cal life is going to sneak back up on us. We’re going to be moving into our new apartment. I’m going to be getting situated into the new position. You're going to be running cargo halfway across the galaxy; We’re not going to have time to have any fun.”
“We’re also not going to have any time to be alone either,” Zekk told her grabbing her waist and pulling her into his lap. “How about a compromise? I know Solos don’t tend to compromise, but make this one exception for your husband. We can spend half the day doing whatever you want to do–including diving to that underwater shopping center, and then we can spend the rest of the day, in bed just the two of us.”
Jaina smiled and kissed her husband, “Fine, but only because it’s you.”

Hours later they crashed on the couch, exhuasted and having bought presents for just about everyone. Jaina flipped on the holotube to see pictures of her wedding flashing and immediately stared laughing. Zekk came in from the other room having changed into more comfortable clothes to find his wife in hysterics. He raised an eyebrow at her and she just pointed towards the screen. A picture of Wes Janson with his arms around Jaina’s mother was enough to send Zekk plummeting down on the couch in a fit of laughter as well.
“This is what they consider news?” he asked.
“Yep, welcome to the Skywalker/Solo/ Ta D’jo Clan where if we sneeze it makes the front page,” Jaina said sarcastically, hitting her husband on the shoulder.
“It’s totally worth it,” Zekk replied, leaning in to kiss his wife. Jaina smiled playfully as he pulled away from the kiss. “Now do we have to wrap all these presents for our family and friends?”
Jaina leaned in as Zekk wrapped his arms around her waist. “We can do that later. Right now all I want to do is enjoy being married to you.”

Rose as always you astound me with your story writing skills. (sorry I'm in a fiction writing class this semester and it was nice to see something written by you). I loved the interaction between Tahiri/Ryker and Jaina/Zekk. I loved the last line especially "I just want to spend some time being married to you" really good! I can't wait to read more. This story has been excellent since the beginning and it just gets better with each post.
