So... I've given in and am doing the Ultimate Drabble Challenge (the first one.) I think it's going to focus on the relationship between Jacen Solo and an OC I have paired with him, in my head. You'll learn more about her as the drabbles roll on. So without further ado here's week 1

Unrequited
Genre: Everything, but alot of angsty/drama-ness
Timeframe: EU
Main Characters: Jacen/OC
Summary: Me finally shaking off my phobia of introducing this particular character and doing something with her besides writing alot of nice stories that will never see the light of day... or just my response to the above.

Week 1

Beginnings: It was wet in this jungle. Wet and unfamiliar. And it smelled different, like damp earth, dying plants, machinery, and intermingling life. Everything was different. She watched the other’s in that wet foreign place go about their lives and days as though nothing was amiss with them. As though they were actually happy here, away from their former lives, away from their families, away from a galaxy that didn’t know how to make up its mind about these beings and what they stood for. Then, a pair of warm brown eyes appeared in sight. “Hi, I’m Jacen Solo. Who’re you?”

Middles: She thought about the cycle of life her people’s beliefs were founded on. There was early life, when one was still a child, when the galaxy was friendly, and dreams were encouraged. Then there was middle life, when one became an adult, embracing the solemn duties of wife and motherhood, of representing and protecting one’s people and one’s family. She realized she had reached that point in the cycle. Leaving behind her childhood, her birth family, to embark of the journey of her mother before her.

“Till death do us part,” He said. She repeated the words back to him.

Ends: They had reached the last phase of the cycle. Elder life. As with all living things, time had worn him down, had worn both of them down. Now sitting in a private room in the hospital, she watched him complete his journey of the Cycle. Drawing his final breaths, as his parents had, as her parents had, as those no longer alive had. These final moments were peaceful. He had always been peaceful during his life, why not in death as well.

“Goodbye my love,” she whispered one last time, holding back tears, and then he was with the Force.

First: They were in a cave. It was not the first time they had found themselves in a place such as this. Often, to escape some of the other, more boisterous apprentices their age, they had come here to experience the peace and quiet. This time was different. He had not asked her here to talk, or simply enjoy one another’s company in the cool darkness of the underwater grotto.

He reached for her hand and held it, running his calloused fingers over her palm.

“I think I love you.” He lowered his head and kissed her for the first time.

Last: She hated that word, last. Last this last that. It seemed that beings in the “known” part of the galaxy overused a word that more often than not brought them grief.

“Your Highness, this could be the la-” the healer began, only to be halted mid word.

“No. Do not say the word. I already know what you are trying to say and I do not want you to use that word. He will not… endure… much longer. Will he?” she replies.

“No, Milady. He will not,” the healer understands her dislike of the word he started but never finished.

EDIT: I'm an idiot. I thought it was 100 words total. I fixed it so it is 100 words each... sorry about that.

EDIT2: Just added some stuff to the top, not the story

I've never really liked TK... she's been too... I don't know... I just don't connect with her as a character, and I really didn't feel sympathetic towards her in Inferno. I meet the word count. 100 exactly. I checked three times on Word to make sure. Thanks for the compliment!

Week 2!

Hours:

Ding

Ding

Ding

The chrono on the desk had just chimed the hour. Jacen looked up and realized how late he had been working. He should have been home at least an hour ago. Kariyen wouldn’t be very happy with him. But she hadn’t been happy much recently. Lately, he had been spending more and more time doing his work and less time with her, with their children.

“All the hours of their lives, of our lives, that you will never get back,” she had commented the other night. “I hope you can accept that you missed that, later on.”

Days:
He had left a few days ago for a mission most had deemed suicidal. And he had not returned. Many hadn’t, and her heart ached for those losses as well. But his loss hurt the most.

“Don’t worry, I’ll come back,” He’d said, as they embraced in the hanger before he had boarded the Lady Luck and gone off to his destiny.

As the ship broke into the darkness of space she had thought to herself I know you will, but when and how, I do not know… She knew there would be many lonely days ahead of her now.

Weeks:
He had been gone for weeks. Off looking for the Force in some distant corner of the Unknown Regions. He was trying to find some arcane knowledge that would enlighten him and bring about a renaissance of Jedi comprehension and power, or something like that. She knew that Vergere’s teachings had deeply unsettled him and the teachings of the Potentium had made him question what he had been brought up learning as a student on Yavin IV. Still, she wished he hadn’t decided to go off and look for the Force.

Well, if wishes were fishes… she thought to herself

Months:
Months had passed since he had returned, and he still wasn’t Jacen again. Not like he had been before the war started, before Centerpoint, before Duros, before voxyn and Myrkr, before the galaxy had taken a life so full of promise and turned it into one so jaded, so embittered. She was worried that he might never be the same. No, she knew he would never be the same. And she worried for the months to come, for the battles yet ahead, for the lives that still hung in the balance. Time would only tell whether the changes would stay.

Years:
She knelt under the tree, staring at the grave marker. He had been gone for five years now, and she was surprised she hadn’t stopped living yet, hadn’t stopped missing him yet, hadn’t stopped loving him yet. And yet, it didn’t surprise her. Even when he hadn’t been himself, she still held on to what they had once had. After everything they had been through, everything they had put each other through, neither of them had been able to let go. Until he, like his grandfather before him, had chosen redemption at life’s end over a life of eternal darkness.

AtreidesJedi: Thanks for reading

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Week 3~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
11. Red
The flowers he had brought her were red.
Red to humans symbolized love and passion, but also great danger and even wrath. Was it on purpose that they used such a noticeable color to send such opposing messages?
To her people, red meant one thing. Pain. Red was a color of mourning, of irrevocable loss, of death and sorrow and the emptiness that accompanies such emotions. There is no love in red.
But he didn’t know that. He couldn’t have known that. So she acceptes his gift and smiled. There would be time for him to learn her people’s ways.
12. Grey
Grey. Well, not really grey, more silvery than grey. Grey is the color of rocks. Her eyes don’t look like rocks. He thought.
She was sitting at the edge of the lake, declining to jump into the cool water, unlike some of the other apprentices. Her feet were dangling over the edge of the rock where she was perched, barely submerged in the lake’s murky depths. She turned to look at him where he stood and smiled. He was entranced by those nearly iridescent eyes.
Definitely not grey. He thought once him mind reengaged and walked over to join her.
13. White
She was wearing a simple white dress. Her braids were threaded with silky white ribbons that caught the light.
He couldn’t take his eyes off her as they stood before the holy man performing the secret marriage. She had explained to him earlier that white was not a marriage color in her culture, but that she knew it was in many human societies. So she wore white. Just for him.
The holy man had stopped speaking and was looking at Jacen rather expectantly.
Jacen took a deep breath, quickly making use of a Jedi relaxation technique, “I do.” She smiled.
14. Black
No one spared him a second glance as he moved quickly and quietly through the building, making his way to a place he could reach even in his sleep. The black GAG uniform and cloak he wore might have had something to do with the wide berth he was ceded, as menacing as he looked.
A humorless smile reached his face as he thought of the physical connection he seemed to have with his infamous grandfather his aunt had remarked upon. If only she knew. He reached his destination, keyed in the entry code, and walked into his wife’s arms.
15. Blue
The sky was blue the day they buried him. Deceptively and painfully blue. She would have preferred black or even an appropriately stormy grey. But no, only a color so vibrant it hurt her soul.
A single tear slid down her cheek.
Of those who were present, she alone knew him best. None of his family was present. She knew she was hurting his family, but she could not bring herself to allow them to come. They had destroyed him.
She tuned out the droning of the priest, staring up at a sky too blue to be real. And wept.
And because I'm a feedback junkie... what do you think?
Week 4 starts.... Now!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Friends
“Follow me,” he said, pulling her along the corridors.

“Where are we going?” she asked, “Is something wrong?”

“No, I just remember you saying you wished there was somewhere quiet for you to go and think or meditate or just be alone. I’ve found the perfect place.”

“Oh. You didn’t have to do that.”

“I know. But isn’t that what friends are for?”

“Friends?”

“Yeah, you know. Two people who like each other and value each other’s opinion, things like that. I’d like to think I’m your friend.”

“I’d like to think you are too.”

“So we’re friends?”

“Yes. Friends.”

Enemies

Jacen’s whole family hated her. Hated her for supporting Jacen, for giving him control of parts of her military, for using her political pull to lend his rule legitimacy, for loving him too much to leave him.

She saw him falling, and she couldn’t stop him, or herself.

She knew his parents had disowned him, and that they and his uncle and given the Insurrection leaders leave to assassinate him. She knew what others in the Order thought of him, and of her.

According to him, They were his enemies, and because she was not, They were her enemies too.

Lovers

It was early morning on Coruscant and he knew he had to leave before anyone knew where he had been last night. No one realized that they had been secretly married after the Yuuzhan Vong War.

He dressed swiftly, then sat back on the bed kissed her temple. She was the most important thing he had, her and their children. He placed another kiss on her forehead and stared a little longer at her slowly awakening form.

Her eyes were an unfocused and cloudy grey when they opened, and for a moment, they were the only beings in the universe.

Family

“Daddy! Daddy’s home!”

The joyous cries assaulted his ears the minute the door opened and he stepped into the room. Two dark haired streaks of energy bolted for the figure and attached themselves to his legs.

“Hey, hey, I need those to walk,” he said, laughing at his youngest children’s antics and picking up the two toddlers.

“They missed you,” his wife remarked, smiling at the scene of a father and his children.

“Did you miss me?” He asked, a subtle gleam in his eye.

“I always do,” she replied, tilting her head up for a kiss.

“Eeewwww! Daddy, Mommy!”

Strangers

“Jacen, plea-”

“Kariyen, I know what I’m doing.”

She was questioning him again. Like she always did when she thought he was heading down the wrong path.

“Jacen, what’s happening to you?”

He knew there were sacrifices that had to be made in order to make the galaxy safe for their children, for her. She just wasn’t willing to let him make them.

“Are you even the man I married?”

She was scared of what he was becoming. It wasn’t hard to see. Her love might just be another sacrifice. But she would be safe, he would see to it
