Score one for the kid. Too bad she inherited the bad lightsaber crystal curse from her mother, but at least she didn't get hurt. Any product of a child's toy set should've turned his lightsaber into a grenade on a dead-man switch - not melted the crystal and then blown up once all the goo was out of it.
Once again, the Dark Side just makes you stupid - Caedus should've known better than to trust that anything left in a child's reach is as he left it.

I actually felt sorry for Jacen/Caedus in that one. He tried to be a good father. He'd have done better if he had stopped being a Sith. At least Allana doesn't know she partially caused her father's death. That's too much for a youngling to handle.

Oh, I love these, Tahi! The tomgue-and-cheek of some of them have me still giggling.  I especially loved the Family Tree one. 
Famous last words... “Ah, Allana, I swear you’ll be the death of me.”
A revisit of Anakin and Obi-Wan there... I like it! 
 Hope to see more ways that Jacen can die!

Perfect, Master. Caedus got vaped by his own lightsaber. And Allana did it! Perfect.
I loved your Allana, the perfect little girl with perfect thoughts and so true. Reminded me of me a little bit, only much better behaved. 
And Caedus as a father was alright. He was a little inmpatient, but thats to be expected from a Sith I guess. I least he didn't chop off her hand.
And, I loved Allana drawing pictures of her family, I did that alot as a kid.
You have to be the best grandmother, ever!

Another excellent entry, Tahi - the Anakin Solo piece is still my favorite, but I think this ranks second.
I've actually decided I'm through with the Legacy books. The more I read, the more I get nostalgic for the pre-NJO stuff. At least the Legacy comics seem to be back to the original formula.

just after he’d activated the first in a series of holozine presentations by Dr Spong, the notable child development expert come holonet celebrity.
Bad parent!
Understatement of the year
Not long after the flood there’d been the obstacle course incident, which might have done him some serious damage if his reflexes hadn’t been in tip-top condition. He’d entered his suite deep in thought after a conversation with Captain Nevil and had been somewhat surprised to find himself first in mid-air, flipping over his small day sofa, and then performing a forward roll down his occasional table which had curiously appeared upside down and cantilevered from the seat of the sofa to the floor. He’d disentangled his cloak from around his neck to find his daughter studying him, disgruntlement written all over her face.
“You’re meant to start at the other end, Daddy,” she’d reprimanded him,
I think Allana is purposely trying to kill him... at least subconsciously
“Ah, Allana,” he’d said, teasing her, “I swear you’ll be the death of me.”
That thought, in itself, was disturbing enough, let alone the fact the child had sabotaged his efforts. He’d been both surprised and angry. He’d even begun to question whether the collateral damage she was busy wreaking on his calm and orderly existence vindicated his decision to steal her from Tenel Ka. Left to her own devices, Allana was probably capable of destroying the entire ship single-handed. By accident, of course.
Of course...
He pondered the problem as he waited for the dispenser to mix and grind his special blend of beans. He was still working on it when the familiar rich, nutty aroma of hot caf drifted up in a waft of steam to tickle and tantalise his nostrils. And that was when he had the brainwave. Of course! The crystals! It was obvious that Allana had really enjoyed playing with them in virtual form, but how much better to have the real thing. Except it wouldn’t be just one or two, it would be a whole set of them, all in different shapes and sizes - just like in the jewellery set he’d seen recommended by Dr Spong as a suitable creative toy for little girls. He would drink his caf, and then set about searching the Coruscant consumer network on the hypernet for the best set he could find, along with some suitable puzzles perhaps and art materials.
Anything for his dear little daughter. And hopefully there’d be no more accidents.
I like where this is going 
Caedus was very pleased at how excited Allana was with her gifts, and he made every effort over the ensuing days to factor in quality interaction time with her. He even took it in his Sithly stride when she insisted he model some of her jewellery creations, and managed to remain a model of implacability when he realised, halfway through an unscheduled holo-conference with Admiral Niathal, that he was still wearing a sparkly bracelet.
She began to paint Daddy, but she couldn’t get his eyes right, so she turned him into one of the big hairy creatures her Mummy had told her were Wookiees.
A few minutes later, feeling very relieved that she’d been able to fix the problem herself, she put the tube back where she found it. Everything would be fine now.
Fact, as her Mummy always said.
That made her smile.

He posed with his finger on the button for the merest second – just enough time to catch Luke’s eye and smile. And then he pressed down, anticipating the effect the incarnadine glow of his blade would have: on his former mentor – a flag of despair; on him – fulfilment . . . ecstasy . . .
Agony? Was the shriek that was splitting his eardrums coming from him or from the lightsaber? Something red had spurted up he was sure, but that didn’t explain the sticky wet stuff that appeared to be falling down on him from the air. Nor did it provide a reason for the sparks showering from the shapeless hunk of slag that was now fused to his hand.
“Cease fire!” he screamed at the combat droids, but the command was lost in the deafening roar of their fire. Bolts zigzagged from droids to Jedi to Caedus until, torso and hair ablaze, he sank to the deck. The pain of being blasted to shreds was surprisingly difficult to embrace – even for a prize graduate of the Yuuzhan Vong. To his credit he did manage to remain conscious for at least two minutes after his heart exploded in a spectacular cascade of red gore. Whether he used that time wisely to admit to the error of his ways nobody could tell: it’s always very hard to read the expression of the dead, especially when their face has been completely burned away.
A fitting end for Darth Caedus
Another fantastic enstallment, Tahi I actually saw this one coming this time Though a part of me was hoping that when he turned on the lightsaber, instead of it exploding, he would have a rainbow blade or something 
I loved Allana in this and the way you worked the scenes into Fury. All the mischief she was getting into was hilarious. Caedus is such an arrogant jackass, there'd be a lot of justice in someone like his daughter taking him down.

Funny how things get passed on down. LOL

I dunno. I figured a little plastoid gem would melt rather than blow up, and the power source would melt the handle fusing the circuits and causing a bit of an electrical fizzle.
Once again, the Dark Side just makes you stupid
LOL It does tend to have that effect - must be all that energy mucking up the synapses.

Well, kind of. A lot of his behaviour is really just the old anal Jacen tendencies that push him to do the "correct" thing. More narcissism than anything IMO.
He'd have done better if he had stopped being a Sith.
Well, at least then he wouldn't have had to build a new lightsaber.
And yes - Allana can remain innocently none the wiser. Nobody would know why the lightsaber failed. Ha ha

Yeah - my granddaughter loves drawing, and she nearly always draws her mum first. It's very sweet.

I have to agree that some of the early stuff was excellent. I've noticed a few people going back to that era with their fics. I haven't read the Legacy comics yet - but I've heard good things about them.

Now that would have been the ultimate in how to look really dumb. Perhaps it could have projected the SW equivalent of Barney into the air. Or turned into a massive party popper.
I loved Allana in this and the way you worked the scenes into Fury.
That was a bit of a challenge actually. I managed to stay canon until just after Luke's brilliant "Care to surrender" line.
Caedus is such an arrogant jackass, there'd be a lot of justice in someone like his daughter taking him down.
That was my thought, too. I like the thought of him dying as a result of something very inglorious as that's far more satisfying somehow. Or maybe I'm just twisted.

As usual, I love the intersection of Jacen's arrogance with dark humor in this fic. Allana is very well-written, and I love how her innocently precocious entertainments are Jacen's downfall in the end. An evilly perfect update.

And of course it doesn't occur to him that perhaps separating Allana from her mother and leaving her stuck in his quarters all day isn't the best thing for her.  Nooo, instead it's all Tenel Ka's fault.
Allana was just perfect, by the way. Such a kid.

I've caught up I really like the idea of Jacen turning into a tree and the puns were great especially Ben's. That story was kind of like a Roald Dahl story.
And having Alana play with his lightsaber and loose the stone was very funny, and it's the kind of things kids do
My sister used to make obstacle courses, it used to drive us mad! can't wait to see what kind of death is next.
