Nice touch. The meeting at Endor is still in place but looks like Luke's going to be the one going there. Still left it open enough for Leia to be considered Vader's heir though...now that would be really interesting to see how that plays out.

Wonderful update. Luke treats Khabarakh with honor and respect and a measure of trust and feels he'll get the same in return. This makes him a trustworthy and truly diplomatic person to deal with. On the TTT flip, Leia also has these traits ...

Sorry about not posting over the weekend, but I had two work-related events that simply took up more of my time than I'd expected. I'll handle replies today, then have a new post up tomorrow.

Sil: Well, the initial deal's been made. Let's just hope Han doesn't find some way to talk Luke out of it.
dm1: Luke's seen how the Force can warn Leia, so he's got no reason to think it would be any different for him.

Okay, here comes the next part as we head back to Leia.
Chapter 17
Leia felt like she was swimming in an inky blackness as she struggled to pull herself to consciousness. She couldn't remember the last time she'd felt anything like this, and was still trying to puzzle out how Karrde could have gotten the drop on her so completely. She opened her eyes, and quickly closed them again against the brightness. She opened them a little more slowly, giving her eyes a chance to adjust to the sunlight streaming in from the window across the room. She could hear the sound of wildlife nearby, and guessed that Karrde must have brought her to his headquarters on Myrkr.
She turned over, and as she did so, something occurred to her that she hadn't realized. She couldn't feel the Force. At first, she thought that it must have been an aftereffect of the drugs that Karrde and his people had used on her. But as she lay there, trying to sort things out, she realized that though the fog of the drugs was fading, the Force was not returning to her.
"Strange, isn't it?" a voice said. "It's as if you're looking for something, but cannot find it."
Leia blinked, then attempted to sit up. She felt a wash of dizziness, and leaned back, propping herself up on one elbow. She blinked again, trying to bring her vision into focus, and saw the woman sitting at the end of the bed.
"You're not a Jedi," Leia said.
"That's right," the woman said, her eyes fixed on Leia. There was something familiar about her, probably the blue tattoos around her eyes. "But that's not what's bothering you, is it?"
"How are you cutting me off from the Force?" Leia asked, summoning all the steel she could.
"That's not for me to tell," the woman said. "All that I can say is that I do find some measure of peace in your current situation." She rose. "On your feet. Karrde wants to see you, and we've kept him waiting long enough."
Leia pushed herself back into a sitting position, and when her body didn't rebel this time, slowly rose to her feet. She noticed that a small, wicked looking blaster was now in the other woman's hand, and that Leia's lightsaber hung from her waist.
"Don't try going for the lightsaber, Leia," the woman said. "I'm a pretty good shot, as you should remember."
"Nera Dantels," Leia said. "You used to work with the Alliance, back before the Empire fell."
"I'm surprised it took you so long," Nera said. "Then again, you've been out of it long enough that I can forgive you not remembering me instantly. Now let's get moving. Unless, of course, you'd prefer I save us all some trouble and just shoot you."
"I think I'll join Karrde," Leia said. "Perhaps I can convince him that you're wrong in this course of action."
"Not likely," Nera said, "though it might be fun to see you try to change Karrde's mind." Nera gestured with the blaster, and they stepped out of the building. The forest encroached on all sides, though it would probably be some time before it became a true problem. Nera led Leia towards the central building, where Karrde was waiting for them.
"Good day, Jedi Solo," Karrde said. "Let me begin by again apologizing for the way you were brought here. Of course, now we have to decide just what to do with you."
