Disclaimer: I do not own Star Wars as it is the property of George Lucas. I also own neither Naruto which is the work of Kishimoto San nor Full Metal Alchemist. This fic is for entertainment purposes only.

*Takes place just after The Unifying Force. Slight mix with Naruto and Full Metal Alchemist.*

Luke Skywalker stood radiating calm, his face, as always, a mask of Durasteel. Before him stood his Jedi knights; called to a reunion on the new Jedi owned planet of Ossus. The crowd bustled with uncertainty, unsure of what their Master would say. All Jedi from across the Galaxy were present, even little Tekli and Tahiri Veila, newly returned from Zonama Sekot. Luke mulled over his thoughts, unsure of how to begin, of what exactly he could say to his Jedi Knights who had sacrificed and lost so much to the terrible conflict that had only just passed. Soon the true ramifications of the war would become apparent and the healing of the galaxy could truly begin; one way or another. Luke wondered about the Vong on Sekot and whether Tahiri had any luck in aiding their settlement. He made a mental note to ask her later as soon as the meeting was over. Mara reached over to him with the Force and gave him the equivalent of an encouraging grasp on his arm.

Luke breathed in and cleared his throat. He knew it fell to him to speak on behalf of those who should be standing here smiling along with them and weren’t. He knew any sort of congratulations would be a lie. Only simple thanks and commiserations would do for the end of such a devastating and costly war. His legs felt spongy, his arms like lead weights. His head was swimming. No-one but his wife, holding their precious son, noticed. Luke’s posture remained strong and in moments he had reordered his thoughts to the task. Luke raised a hand and the crowd quickly grew quiet.

“This war” He began “Has been terrible. For us to be standing here today, many have given their lives, young and old alike.” As Luke spoke the holo screen behind him flared to life and began displaying the faces of many who had died during the course of the war.

“The war has ended but the healing of the galaxy has just begun. It is our duty as Jedi to uphold the peace and prosperity we have fought for…the peace and prosperity those we love died for. Each of us here, each brave ally across the galaxy that fought for freedom and justice will now help to heal the wounds caused and bring about a future that will be brighter and more hopeful than anything we can imagine!” Luke paused, wondering if he could go on, wondering if he could have saved anyone else from their fate. His sister glanced over at him knowing his guilt and grief.

“To our honoured comrades who gave their lives so that we might prevail; we give thanks. Your deaths were not in vain.” Luke finished and the room erupted into a chorus of applause. The Jedi master stepped down from the podium and went to his wife and son. He had never felt so old. Luke glanced over his Jedi knights and brushed a hand through his hair as the applause died down.

Luke was about to open the floor to anyone who wanted to contribute to the meeting when a noise from the back of the room caught his attention. The sound of hands clapping together slowly sounded. The applause had died down but someone still seemed impressed. Mara’s eyes narrowed and Ben shifted nervously and began to wail in earnest. Everyone in the hall went silent. A figure robed in strange material stood near the large doors at the back of the room. The doors hung open slightly, suggesting the person had only just arrived.

“A fine speech Master Skywalker” The cloaked figure spoke in an apparently female voice that seemed oddly familiar. Mara quickly handed Ben to Tionne and moved nearer to Luke, her hand on the lightsaber of Anakin Skywalker. Luke’s hand had also drifted to his blade whilst the remaining masters had begun moving slowly along the podium in a semi-circle, some grasping the hilts of their blades, others ready to unleash the force at this apparent enemy. The novice Jedi in the crowd simply moved back, unsure of what to do whilst more experienced Jedi waited for the masters to act. The small, blonde Tahiri struggled to see and Jacen moved out of her line of vision to let her. The emeralds of her eyes went wide as she rested her gaze upon the strangers’ cloak which seemed to move of its own accord with no aid from the air.

“I’d step back if I were you” The cloaked woman informed the Jedi, raising a hand that held a small object.
“This is Huun. I am immune to its effects but you’re not.”
“Do as she says!” Tahiri suddenly screamed to her fellow Jedi. “Get back!”
“Move back!” Luke shouted over the increasing wails of his son.

“Who are you?! What is it you want?!” Luke asked.
“Who am I? Well…that IS an interesting question. You see, I’m not entirely sure myself” the cloaked woman said as she reached a hand up and in one swift move tore off her cloak.

Everyone stood aghast at the sight. Even Tahiri who had been expecting some Yuuzhan Vong creature was shocked. A petite, lithe, blonde figure clad in chitinous armour stood before the crowd of Jedi. Tattoos bearing the visage of Yun Yammka adorned her form and various scars from slashes and burns denoted her status as a Warmaster. All who looked on her face could not believe what they were seeing. Blonde curls cascaded around her face whilst one emerald eye stared with pure hatred and the other glistened black obsidian. Tahiri felt like she was looking into a mirror or that the gravest nightmares from the depths of her mind had suddenly taken form. An incredible force presence was suddenly apparent in the hall a presence that could only be born of the dark side.

“My name is Riina Kwaad. It’s nice to meet you original.” Riina said, addressing Tahiri.
“There is no Riina. There’s just me.” Tahiri replied shakily, her hand moving towards her lightsaber. Riina laughed hollowly.
“As you can see original…that is no longer true. Your Jedi master up there asked me what I wanted here. FIGHT ME!!!” Riina demanded, her voice filled with hatred and desire.

“Oh no…there’ll be none of that” Riina warned as a number of Jedi moved towards her.
“Get back! Now! Or you all die. It’s that simple. If you face me, original; they live. If not, they fall.”
“Do it.” Tahiri said to her Jedi friends as she brushed stray hairs from her forehead. Luke nodded, relaxed his grip on the hilt of his blade and one by one each Jedi stepped up onto the podium.

“Kid! Don’t do this!” Han all but begged as Tahiri removed her own cloak and set it aside.
“This family has lost enough, we can’t lose anymore. Don’t do this. Let someone else handle it. Please.”
“I’m sorry. I’m so sorry. If I don’t, she’ll use that toxin and everyone will die. She asked for me. I’ll do my part, just like Anakin did his.” Tahiri said sadly.
“Look how well that turned out.” Han replied sarcastically although his voice was filled with mourning and pain.

“Be careful kid.” Han relented. Tahiri nodded. All eyes were on her, Tionne, Kam; the people who had watched her childhood pass by, Tesar, Tekli,, Lowbacca, Alema even…people she counted as friends, people she had bled with, who had been there when Anakin died. Jacen and Jaina, Han and Leia looked on, her new family watching her, whilst Luke and Mara stood impassively wanting to stop her but allowing her to make her own choice. Tahiri allowed herself a last look at the people before her then she turned on her heel and marched to the centre of the room. Riina grinned, a smile that split her chevroned lips into a grotesque display and placed the Huun in a small protective pouch at her side.

“Before we do this…I heard you mention Anakin just now.”
“What about him?” Tahiri asked; her lightsaber now in her hand, ready to ignite the moment her enemy attacked.
“Oh nothing really…I’m sure you’re aware that I have a number of your memories. You have none of mine however.” Riina suggested, pacing back and forth before Tahiri slowly.

“What are you getting at?”
“Would you like to know a secret before you die?” Riina asked. Tahiri’s emerald gaze flickered but her stance remained. Any attack and her lightsaber would be ready. The rest of the hall stood in wonder at what secret this clone could possess. Tahiri shrugged her shoulders.

“Sure. Why not?” she replied. Riina grinned yet again.
“You remember how he died?” the clone asked as she unhooked a black pupae like tube from the skin of the animal that served as her belt. Tahiri looked puzzled for a second and wrinkled her nose before she realized.
“You mean Anakin? Of course I know. I was there.” Tahiri replied, her voice low and menacing.
“He died at Myrkr, allowing us to get out alive. He bought us time.” Tahiri said sadly. Leia gripped Han’s arm whilst Jaina choked back tears and Jacen stood with his fists clenched.

“Well…I guess that’s what happened alright…” Riina eventually agreed, tilting her head to one side and causing her blonde curls to cover her single emerald eye.
“…For seven minutes.” She finished. “The moment his life left him, we had already picked him up and placed a perfect clone in his place. We were just waiting for all of his strike team friends to leave his side. We managed to revive him and keep him in stasis long enough to spirit him far away from you. Masking his force presence was also easy, anything you felt would have been dismissed as a force echo of his living self.” Riina said, a sick grin plastered on her features.

“That’s a lie!” Tahiri all but screamed, tears forming on her emerald eyes. Riina’s force presence however made it crystal clear to all that what the clone had said wasn’t a lie. Jaina had to be held up by Jacen, Leia buried her face in Han’s chest whilst Luke stood in mute shock, his eyes wide. Tahiri too almost buckled under the horrid truth. They had left Anakin behind. She had left him behind.

“It didn’t end there.” Riina continued “We took him back to our base, cleaned his wounds, made sure he was healthy…then we strapped him in the embrace of pain.” Riina told the shocked crowd, relishing the effect her every word seemed to have upon Tahiri, upon Anakin’s family and friends.

“You what?” Tahiri asked, unable to fully comprehend the situation.
“We tortured him. Quite extensively. For reasons I will not disclose to you we were trying to turn him to the dark side of the force, something his clone was unable to handle. Other factors in the clone were also missing…We therefore determined that only Anakin himself would do. Thanks to all of you, we were able to obtain him.” Riina smirked, the pupae like tube in her hand pulsated slightly, displaying that it was in some way alive. Tears travelled in rivulets down Tahiri’s face.

“You’re also a clone! Why were you left alive when his was destroyed? Why didn’t you take me too?!” Tahiri screamed at Riina, snapping her wrist and igniting her lightsaber with the trademark snap-hiss. Azure light filled the room as Tahiri brought her vibrant blade to guard, the blue light reflecting the tears on her face. Riina grinned; a sick smile that twisted her face.

“Simple. They needed me. I played the role of you when we were torturing him. I’m certain my master didn’t think you’d willingly turn Anakin to the dark side.” Riina replied, laughing lightly and brushing a hand through her hair.

“I had such fun with him too. It took a while but he eventually turned. It didn’t quite go how we wanted it, however…Anakin was simply too powerful. He broke his bonds, killed the ysalimiri that was in the room with him, and then slaughtered everyone in the damutek we were using. I barely escaped. As soon as I got outside, I collapsed the damutek. I crushed him with it. I KILLED HIM.” Riina finished, pausing to allow her words to penetrate fully. Leia almost threw herself forwards as did Jaina and Han. All that caught them was the Force wall that Luke had suddenly erected.

Han looked at his old friend with betrayal in his eyes and Luke looked back, his gaze sad. Han understood. Tahiri had to finish this first, she had to buy time for Luke and the masters to come up with a plan before Riina used the Huun toxin. Tahiri stared at her warped twin and allowed the tears to fall from her face. A grim line formed on her lips, Tahiri’s eyes shone with cold emerald daggers.

Tahiri’s thoughts were certain; her enemy would die. Riina laughed yet again and squeezed the living pupae she was holding. A further snap-hiss sounded and Tahiri was suddenly facing a cobalt blue blade much like her own. Riina traced the contours of her armour suggestively as she pointed her blade at Tahiri’s face. Her hand came to her lips suddenly and Riina traced them with her index finger as she smiled.

“You know…it’s ironic really.”
“What is?” Tahiri snarled; her stance ready for the oncoming attack.
“That before he died, the last lips he touched…were mine.” Riina finished. The blood drained from Tahiri’s face her eyes went wide and with an inhuman howl the small blonde charged. Riina grinned with animal ferocity as her twin self came at her.

Emerald eyes and cobalt blades clashed together in a chorus of fury. Luke looked on as one of his youngest students seemed to come within the grasp of the dark side with each blow, yet with all that the clone had said about his nephew he did not even consider stopping the fight.

“That’s it! Let it out! It’s the only way you can hope of beating me!” Riina shouted joyfully above the clash of their blades.
“Shut up!” Was Tahiri’s only reply. A quick feint almost caught Tahiri’s shoulder and she found herself jumping back and sweeping her blade to the side to defend. Riina moved in quickly to spear Tahiri’s throat and yet again the little blonde jumped back and parried wide. Riina came onwards, grinning and giggling with insanity. Fear gripped Tahiri, twisting her guts and riddling her with doubt.

“You know why I really want you dead?” Riina hissed. “It’s because I have some of your memories. I have some of your feelings. If I gave in to them, even for a moment, I might actually have been able to love him like you did; I might come to hate myself for killing him. How could I let you live knowing that? If you die here, then it means that my existence, my way of living is the correct one!!!” Riina screeched unleashing a flurry of blows.

“She’s completely insane!” Tahiri thought to herself as she defended as best she could although her clothes were becoming scorched and burnt from her enemies’ attacks. Riina made to strike again and this time, instead of preparing to deflect the blow, Tahiri struck too. The two blades clashed together with such force that both blondes were pushed backwards. Riina went with the force of the blow and flipped backwards whilst Tahiri slid to an almost graceful halt. Breathing heavily, the little blonde Jedi knew that if this didn’t end soon, she was going to die.

“No way!” Tahiri shouted at her clone. “There’s no way I’m gonna die! Not yet! Not until you’ve paid for what you did to him!” Tahiri rushed in again but this time she feinted to her left then actually moved that way. Riina, mistaking the attack moved to strike to where she thought Tahiri was going to be and missed.

“An opening!” Tahiri thought and struck. Her timing was impeccable, her form; perfect. It wasn’t good enough. Tahiri missed. Riina had known she had failed in her attack the moment she began to swing her blade and so had stepped forwards just enough to place herself out of the reach of Tahiri’s strike.

Riina pivoted around with blinding speed as Tahiri missed her and then deftly flicked her blade up, over and under Tahiri’s own, aiming at her exposed midriff. Tahiri saw the attack coming and managed to sidestep and parry just in time by flicking her blade back over her shoulder. Tahiri’s parry was sloppy however and Riina was still close.

Riina pivoted again as her blade was parried and mid pivot she pulled a coufee from her armour, slamming it home in Tahiri’s side as she turned to face her. The entire conclave of Jedi moaned in despair as Riina withdrew the blade slowly. Tahiri fell to her knees, her blade slipping from her grasp, deactivating and then rolling to a stop out of her reach unless called with the Force. Tahiri’s golden hair hung limply, plastered to her face with sweat and her emerald eyes had lost all their fire. It was over.

“I’m sorry Anakin. I couldn’t avenge you…at least; on the other side of her blade…I’ll get to see you again.” Tahiri thought as Riina stood before her, her blade raised high, ready to strike. Ben wailed in the background as Riina looked down at Tahiri with utter contempt.
“When I’m done with you, with them…it’s quite likely I’ll be the last of my kind…the last of your kind…” Riina almost whispered as she brought her singing blade down amid the cries of the Jedi. Riina’s timing was impeccable, her form; perfect.

This was really beautiful, Morgoth. It reminds me of Luke making his speech to the Jedi in TUF applause

Wow! Amazing descriptions and I love the way you've tied in Anakin's vision of a Vongified Tahiri in Conquest. Great job!

“I’m sorry. I’m so sorry. If I don’t, she’ll use that toxin and everyone will die. She asked for me. I’ll do my part, just like Anakin did his.” Tahiri said sadly.

sad

I've always been a big fan of this theory tongue

shock

I didn't see that coming. This brings up a whole host of questions like, "why bother turning him to the dark side then?" but I have a feeling you've got quite a twist cooked up.

“That before he died, the last lips he touched…were mine.” Riina finished.

Tahiri sure makes an evil Yuuzhan Vong angry

“She’s completely insane!” Tahiri thought to herself as she defended as best she could although her clothes were becoming scorched and burnt from her enemies’ attacks. Great descriptions of the duel dancing

Again, I'm really loving your writing. This is awesome hypnotized

What a cliffhanger! shock

And another perfect tie-in to the Conquest vision. Nicely done applause

Great post, Morgoth grin This is so exciting! I don't believe Riina for a second but I can't tell what she's up to. Perhaps she killed Anakin's clone and doesn't know the difference thinking

Can't wait to see what you have next grin Post more soon!

Thanks for the reply Yoda!!! glad you enjoyed it but that was just the taster chapter for what I've got in store... the next post will be up sometime next week (Hopefully before xmas!)

as to why Riina apparently killed Anakin when trying to turn him towards the dark side...well, you'll just have to wait for the explanation to that, it ties in with the story plot quite intricately!

Morgoth.

Time seemed to slow as the cerulean blade came down, Tahiri; true to the warrior burning within did not look away and so was incredibly confused when the blade missed her by almost an inch. Time returned to normal and Riina looked on in fury. Drops of blood from the wound in Tahiri’s side confirmed it; she had been pulled back at the last second, a thin red trail on the floor followed Tahiri’s path.

“I warned you not to interfere!!!” Riina screeched at Luke and the rest of the Jedi. Luke looked on astonished; to his knowledge no Jedi had intervened on Tahiri’s behalf. The young blonde should have been hit by Riina’s blade. Luke made to protest but Riina cut him off by snarling like a rabid beast and quickly pulling the Huun out of her pocket. The entire room looked on in fear as Riina grinned insanely.

“Time to die…” the clone muttered, almost to herself. An audible crunch sounded and Riina was suddenly hurtling backwards. The Yuuzhan Vong copy of Tahiri hit the large doors of the room with a sickening thud which closed the doors with such force that the doors buckled and the hinges twisted. The Huun remained lodged in midair, right where Riina had been holding it. A figure walked seemingly out of nowhere; their hand outstretched. Luke mused that this stranger must have been masking themselves with the Force until now.

“But how much power can one person have to mask themselves so completely they can appear invisible to an entire room of Jedi?! And why does he have almost no Force presence at all? It’s so strange.” Luke thought to himself.

The figure, cloaked in black seemed to maintain a steady gaze on Riina’s inert form. The Huun drifted over to the odd black figure who quickly clapped their hands together and then clapped them over the Huun. Some in the crowd screamed as they thought the Huun was going to break, others covered their eyes. Luke and the rest of the masters kept their vigil and saw a blue-white light fill the strangers’ hands. When the figure opened their hands, nothing more than harmless smoke and chemical dust remained.

The black clad figure kept their eyes on Riina and moved quickly over to Tahiri who still knelt, blood seeping between the fingers of her hand and coating her side. Her breathing was haggard and choppy and her skin had become clammy and pallid. The figure knelt next to her, their gaze still on Riina’s immobile body.

“Are you alright?” the man asked. Tahiri’s eyes went wide with shock, her pupils dilated even further and her breath, shaken as it was, caught in her throat at the sound of this familiar, cherished voice. The hooded man picked Tahiri up gently, his eyes remaining on Riina all the while, and moved with unbelievable speed, jumping backwards to the podium steps.

Riina began to stir, attempting to crawl to her knees. Setting Tahiri down, the cloaked man stepped forwards to stand protectively between Tahiri, the Jedi and Riina Kwaad. The man waited as Riina got to her feet shakily, a thin line of blood flowing from her forehead and several others curtaining from the chevrons of her lips. The clone snarled, staring at this strange new opponent who had brushed her aside with such ease. Fear struggled to settle in.

“No! He just blindsided me, that’s all! It’s all right…I can handle this.” Riina thought to herself, forcing calm back into her being. Noticing that this stranger had taken the time to pick up the original and set her down with what appeared to be care; Riina began to wonder just what was going on. Grinning, Riina wiped most of the blood from her mouth with the back of her hand and picked up her lightsaber.

“Who are you?” She asked, genuinely intrigued by this new development. The strange cloaked man stood giving Riina no answer except a sly grin which she could barely see beneath his hood. The apparently young man unclasped the cloak by the fasteners on his shoulders then bent his head slightly, never taking his eyes off Riina, and reached a hand up the side of his face into the hood.

In one deft move the darkly clothed man tore off his cloak and cast it to one side. The wind moving the trees, the planet, the stars, the galaxy, the very universe itself seemed to stand still as it bore witness to impossibility. Every Jedi in the room could not, would not, dare not tear their eyes from the figure in front of them. His force presence flared suddenly, an unmistakeable presence not felt since Myrkr.

Hope bled back into the hearts of a family that had been shattered for two and a half long years. Then cold laughter, terrible and insane tore through the moment, cutting it to shreds.

“I knew it! I knew it would be worth it to come here!!!” Riina laughed maniacally.
“But…how did you survive?” Riina asked quizzically. Anakin didn’t so much look at Riina as look through her. When he began to speak, his voice was low and filled with dangerous promise. No-one noticed, not even Riina as he glanced down quickly at Tahiri’s blood on his fingertips.

“I am the grandson of Darth Vader. He survived for almost a standard day with charred lungs and carbonised skin. Did you really think that dropping a damutek on me would be enough?” Anakin asked. His family looked on, remembering that what Riina had said earlier was true, at least from her point of view. They also remembered that she had said that Anakin had fallen to the Dark side.

“Your hate” Riina tittered. “It kept you alive…”
“Yes.” Anakin replied, his stance stoic. His friends and family looked on, unable to speak; the shock was still too great as was their fear that Anakin had become something terrible. Luke had managed some composure and was noticing his nephew’s force presence; it was much different from Riina’s.

“Then…where has it gone?” Riina asked smiling widely. “You’ve lost the power…”
Anakin grinned almost to himself.
“Hmm? Oh, you mean the Dark side. I didn’t need it anymore.” Anakin replied grinning his fathers’ infamous grin. Riina smiled in return. Her feared enemy had become weak.

“Oh dear…little boy… I think you’re in trouble.” Riina remarked playfully as she brushed hair out of her eyes. As her hand grazed the hair from her vision, Anakin moved again with almost inhuman speed and picked up Tahiri, moving up onto the podium.

“Cilghal. You have a patient.” Anakin said. Hardly anyone moved.
“Cilghal? Tahiri?”
“O-of course… Anakin…” Cilghal replied, shaken into action at the sight of the young woman covered in blood and taking her gently from him.
“Anakin…” Jaina began. The youngest Solo glanced over at his sister quickly and with the same innocence he had replied with as a child calmly told his sister;
“No Krakana Jaya.” Anakin said with a smile. Tears coursed down the faces of his family. Jaina’s knees buckled as she was barely held up by his brother who seemed to be holding himself up by sheer willpower alone. Jacen’s legs shook with the effort. His mothers’ grip on his fathers’ arm was so tight Han had to place his hand over hers in a vain attempt to relieve the pressure. Tahiri’s lightsaber flew suddenly from the floor to land in Anakin’s outstretched hand.

“You mind if I borrow this?” Anakin called over his shoulder to Tahiri who leant on Cilghal, a dumbfounded look still on her face.
“S-sure.” Was all that the petite blonde could manage for the moment, all other words escaped her. No one said anything else and Han watched his youngest son walk calmly to stand before Riina, Tahiri’s blade held in his hand.
“You just gonna stand there?” Riina taunted.
“I was going to offer you the chance to leave. Unfortunately, mercy is a luxury I can no longer afford.” Anakin replied as he brought Tahiri’s blade to life and moved towards Riina.

“Shall we dance?” Anakin asked. Riina’s reply came in a furious blue arc of light that seemed destined to take Anakin’s head from his shoulders.
“What are you aiming for?” Anakin asked as Riina’s eyes went wide. The young Jedi stood behind the clone. Riina screamed in fury and turned, swinging wildly. Anakin jumped back. Riina swung again, Anakin dodged, another swing, and another miss. Anakin stepped back, extinguishing his blade and grinning widely.

“What’s so funny?!” Riina asked angrily, sweat starting on her brow.
“Nothing really, I’m just having fun.” Anakin replied. Riina snarled and thrust her blade forward, attempting to stab Anakin in his face. Anakin snapped his own blade to life, deflecting the blow then ducking under Riina’s next attack. The two warriors stopped and turned to face each other. Riina’s back was once more to the door. The Yuuzhan Vong clone stood breathing heavily; sweat coating her form and feeding the living clothes she wore with waste nutrients. Her blonde hair was matted to her face and dried blood now clung to her chin.

“Okay, calm down. There’s no way he’s really that fast. I’ve just been fighting sloppy, that’s all. It’s alright…I’ve got him right where I want him. I just need to get him outside near the water…” Riina told herself despite her every instinct screaming at her to run and never look back. Anakin stood radiating calm whilst Luke looked on, worried that his nephew appeared to be enjoying himself so much. Anakin clipped Tahiri’s lightsaber to his belt and stood, waiting.

Riina grinned in return at this gesture and brought her living blade up to guard. Sweeping it suddenly to her side with a hum of disturbed air, the clone charged with fury, using the force to augment her attack. Anakin didn’t move; the crowd held their breath. At the last moment, as Riina came within striking range, Anakin clapped his hands together and quickly placed them to the floor, his force presence flared.

A bright bluish-white flash appeared and almost instantly walls appeared around Riina. The crowd looked on in astonishment at Anakin’s feat. It didn’t last long. Ferrocrete couldn’t stand up to a lightsaber and in moments, Riina was free. A force blast sent a cloud of dust flying at Anakin and Riina used this moment to strike.

Anakin had anticipated the attack however and blocked Riina’s attack with Tahiri’s blade. Anakin flicked the vibrant blue blade up, over and under Riina’s own. Riina recognized the manoeuvre and jumped back as Anakin’s blade swept in. Anakin grinned and summoned the force. Riina never saw it coming and with an almighty blast she flew backwards, crashing through the walls Anakin had erected and slamming hard once more into the double doors.

Anakin extinguished his blade yet again. His family and friends looked on, unable to call out to the lost Jedi that had returned. Han was about to call to his son when Riina began to stir yet again. Anakin waited as the Yuuzhan Vong raised herself from the floor. Blood ran in streams down her face and clotted in her hair turning the blonde mass a furious red. Drops of blood collected swiftly on the floor beneath Riina’s feet. Her eyes, at least her emerald one, seemed glazed.

“Concussion. Hmm…it seems they did more than just copy Tahiri after all…that blast should have finished her.” Anakin mused to himself. Riina attempted to glare at Anakin but fear was all her eyes could manage to display. Flames of fear began to fan Riina’s heart and the clone suddenly began to actually contemplate retreat. Her heart lifted suddenly as a crashing noise sounded on the stairs. Anakin and the rest of the Jedi in the room looked on puzzled at this noise, not thinking to look with the Force, not seeing the void in its flow moving up the stairs. Closer and closer the crashing noise sounded until…

“Footsteps!” Anakin thought “Kriff!” Anakin dropped his head to one side and sighed. Riina grinned, sweeping a hand through her bloodied golden locks, relishing the slick, sticky sensation and the pain of her injury. The void in the Force suddenly became very apparent to all.

“Is that what I think it is?” Anakin asked, glancing quickly at his friends and family. Riina’s mouth opened wide, a smile blacker than the abyss forming on her crimson stained lips. All fear drained from Riina and her hubris returned.

“You didn’t think it was going to be that easy did you?” she asked. Anakin sighed again and looked sheepish.
“You know for a second there…yeah, I kinda did.” He replied.
“Silly little Ewok. Tricks are f…”
“…for kids” Anakin finished her sentence. “Yeah, I know.” The doors behind Riina began to shake as the Yuuzhan Vong battered against it. It would have given way already but for the twisted hinges.

“I don’t think you can handle thirty warriors. It was surprisingly easy to hide them from the Jedi up there. I just masked them in my own force presence and then decreased your Jedi friends’ senses with the Dark side. They were gonna come in after I’d killed the original there, but oh well.” Riina remarked, twisting her lightsaber between her hands. A large crash sounded as the doors flew open, one bursting from its hinges.

Riina laughed loudly and began barking orders as her cadre of warriors entered the hall. The warriors lined up behind their commander and paused, waiting for her orders. The Jedi on the podium each reached for their blades. Han reached for his blaster.

Anakin raised his hands as Luke and the rest of the Jedi began to step down from the podium. A loud clap sounded and Anakin slammed his hands to the floor. The same brilliant flash appeared, though this time the energy flow seemed directed at the podium. Bars of durasteel sprouted from the floor, barring the Jedi from interfering.

“Brother!” Jacen called suddenly from between the bars. “We’ll face them together! She hasn’t got the Huun anymore! You don’t need to fight alone!” Jaina drew her blade and was about to fling herself at the bars when Anakin spoke.
“You’ll just get in my way. I’ll handle this. Trust me. I wasn’t lying to you earlier Jaya, Jasa. No Krakana. I’ve got this.” Anakin informed his siblings.

“You sure Anakin? We’re more than capable you know.” Luke informed his nephew, eager to jump from the podium and protect the young Jedi he had lost at Myrkr. The remaining Jedi stopped; waiting for Luke to move first. Ben continued to wail in the background. Tahiri said nothing having passed out from blood loss.

“I’m sure Uncle Luke. I just didn’t think I’d have to use it so soon.” Anakin replied cryptically, glancing over his shoulder at his uncle with his lightsaber in his hand. Luke drew back suddenly in shock, for a split second he had been sure Anakin’s eyes had flashed a deep crimson.
“What is it?” Mara asked as Luke drew back from their nephew.
“Nothing. A trick of the light.” Luke replied, though he knew it hadn’t been. Anakin turned to face Riina for the final time.

“How’s it feel knowing you’re about to die in front of your family?” Riina taunted. The warriors behind her jeered but silenced themselves when Riina raised a hand. A strange aura seemed to emanate from Anakin; all present could feel it, even the Yuuzhan Vong who could not feel the force. Anakin focussed; his gaze on Riina and her Yuuzhan Vong cohorts. His force presence flared again, Luke could tell a change had occurred. Riina started with shock as she stared into Anakin’s eyes. The iris of each of his eyes was now blood red with three black flecks evenly distributed throughout each iris.

“That’s interesting.” She remarked. “No matter what you’re up to, it’ll do no good you know.” Riina informed Anakin.
“Kill him!” Riina ordered despite her instincts once more warning her that all was not right. The crowd on the podium shouted and screamed at Riina’s order as they expected Anakin to be cut down any second. Anakin stared ahead, ready to meet death. The Yuuzhan Vong warriors screamed as one and prepared to rush the young Jedi.
“Do-ro’ik vong pratte!

Noson da, Morgoth. Finally got here - many apologies about the delay.

Wow! What a great idea to use Anakin's vision of Tahiri from Conquest. And what a creative use, too, having Tahiri face her clone. Your descriptions evoke the horror of the encounter really well. I also enjoyed Luke's speech and the way you described the Jedi reactions to it.

Fantastic, and beautiful, description of the return of Anakin. I like the hand-clapping power he has learned. That would have been handy to have when I was teaching school. LOL wink

I also enjoyed him taunting Riina. Very satisfying.

But what an ending! PM me as soon as you post.

It's so good to have you back here, and posting again. happy

Hello, Morgoth, I'm so pleased to make you aquaintance. grin

This is fantastic! I love it!

It grip's you at the begining and doesn't let go. I wanted to get my reply in before I went out for the evening.

“But…how did you survive?” Riina asked quizzically.

Because he's Superman! tongue I knew in the first post that he was still alive.

“I am the grandson of Darth Vader. He survived for almost a standard day with charred lungs and carbonised skin.

*nods* Aye. The Oldman was tough. I respect that in a person. cool

“No Krakana Jaya.” Anakin said with a smile.

That line has always and will always hold a special place in my heart. And I award 10,000.00 Piper point's to a Anakin story everytime someone uses it. Thank you. peace

*sigh* peace

“Then…where has it gone?” Riina asked smiling widely. “You’ve lost the power…”
Anakin grinned almost to himself.
“Hmm? Oh, you mean the Dark side. I didn’t need it anymore.” Anakin replied grinning his fathers’ infamous grin. Riina smiled in return. Her feared enemy had become weak.

Holy, kriff! shock Anakin is above dark and light...more than a Jedi! Of course, it makes perfect sense!

Hope bled back into the hearts of a family that had been shattered for two and a half long years. Then cold laughter, terrible and insane tore through the moment, cutting it to shreds.

So, so true. It's not only Anakin's family that's lost and dark without hime. It's the Jedi, and the galaxy. sad Great summary!

Shall we dance?” Anakin asked.

</Anakin> No? Okay, then...
.
.
.
tongue

applause I love that line from Anakin. It's sssooo.....Brett Maverick, or something.

“You sure Anakin? We’re more than capable you know.” Luke informed his nephew, eager to jump from the podium and protect the young Jedi he had lost at Myrkr.

Just stay there Luke, your not the hero anymore.... tongue

This was a great Saturday afternoon read, Morgoth..I enjoyed it so much. The way you use Riina in this story is so unique, I've never seen anything quite like it before. Very original! grin

One thing that struck me in the opening was Ben Skywalker. The way he started crying when all of this was about to break loose. Kind of like SbS. Was that intentional?

I can't wait for the A/T reunion once she feels better. peace

~Piper happy
