Interesting concept, can't tell gender, only presence in the Force. I like that, it leaves something to wonder over.
Weapons at 14?!? Sheesh, it's a different galaxy out there! Well... I suppose in some places here, it's not so different, unfortunately.

It is good that they finally have something to share between them that others can't intrude on. Also, it greatly amuses me that Airen makes stew better than Jag.

Wonderful!
As for names, we haven’t thought of any. My family ended the tradition of naming children after older family members with my late Uncle Anakin, or so everyone says. But then Airen reminded me that my own middle name comes from Great Aunt Mara. I hate being proven wrong, especially by my husband. I tried to get around the debate by saying she isn’t a blood relative, which we both knew was just and excuse of a rebuttal that would never work in an argument between two Corellians.

Ah dad's I bet when they thought it was a girl he was making calculations on how much razor wire he was going to need and anti personel mine placement. Now that it's a boy it's a whole different ball game. It'll be this is how you shoot this and "just don't tell you mother."

Nice!
Great update. I love the name game and all the thought she's putting into it!

Hehehehe. I can just picture Daddy sitting on the couch meticulously cleaning his rifle while Mom talks over the rules and curfew with the boyfriend.

Exciting news of the day: you’re a boy.
Your father is relieved. Anytime my brothers came over to talk about you and the possibility of you being a girl, I caught Airen’s eyes drifting towards his prized antique sniper rifle hanging on the wall. I wasn’t sure if he was hoping you’d be willing to play with guns or he was making contingency plans for when you start to date.
*grins* My sister tells me that once she and her landlord, who's about our father's age and has two grown sons, were having a discussion about kids. Her landlord, who absolutely dotes on my niece, said he was grateful he'd never had any girls of his own - not because he wouldn't have loved a daughter, but because he would have gone crazy trying to protect her. I've always heard the same sentiments from my own father - he used to tell my sister and I to listen to him already; he'd been a boy, and therefore knew what scum they were. And my brother-in-law already has plans on how to intimidate my niece's future boyfriends, and she's only seven.
In other words, dead on writing here.

dm1: Well if you look at profic, Ben is 14 and having a weapon is sadly the least of his worries or his adult attributes.
Z: Yes, they need to keep a little something to themselves.
VaderLVR: Thanks
Padawan: Mines are too messy and noticeable when you're a sniper.
Tatooine_Ghost: Thanks
Other Padawan: Names are very important things, one can't be too careful with them.
Blue_Milkshake: Yes, that would probably be a common scene in their house.
Gabri: Thank you
Entry #11:
Dear child of mine,
Here is a list of things I'm none too pleased about at the moment:
My ever expanding waistline
Needing to by a dress for your father's upcoming Officer's Gala
Waking up in the middle of the night needing to use the 'fresher
Waking up in the middle of the night because of heartburn
Your utter disrespect for my internal organs
Seeing less and less of my feet each morning
Ankle swelling
People looking at my stomach
Complete strangers wanting to know everything about you
Looking through endless lists of baby names (and why are they only called "baby names" if they stick around for your whole life?)
Constantly being hungry but being unable to eat as much because of your aforementioned disrespect of my internal organs
Not being able to leave the planet without getting sick
Not being able to have a single drop of brandy (and I really need it after my day today)
My inconsiderate husband brewing caf every morning and drinking it in front of me
Trying to put together furniture (my family can rebuild starships with our eyes closed, but I swear the instructions for your crib were written in a way that Threepio couldn't have translated it)
Why the bad mood today? Two reasons: your father and my father. Airen was called away on an urgent mission and won't be back for five days or so. I haven't been called away on an urgent mission in months. I went and asked Uncle Jacen why that was this afternoon after your father left. He told me there were plenty of other people around to handle things while unsuccessfully trying to avoid my stomach with his eyes. I could've punched him. Sensing this, he told me about how Grandma Leia was constantly fighting and avoiding evil plots from the Empire when she was pregnant with him and Mom. I told him I was jealous of her situation. Probably a lie, but right now I'm bored of doing the same thing every day. So then came oh-so-fun call number two of the afternoon.
My father, grandfather, and a few others go to visit the Chiss every year; their next trip out is scheduled in about six weeks. It's my turn to go (it alternates every year between the three kids). What does he tell me this afternoon? Nik needs to go for some totally made up reason. I told my father that today was not the day to lie to me and that if there was a real reason as to why I'm not on the invite list anymore then he'd better fess up. He actually looked a little scared. I don't think he was frightened of me, probably more like he was having flashbacks of when Mom was pregnant. It almost made me feel sorry for him. Almost. He said he had a meeting to go to and quickly disconnected the call. So I did what anyone else would've done in that situation--I called my mother. I unloaded on her about how I felt like I was never going to leave Ossus ever again, and how I really needed to get out of the house. She took Dad's side on the matter, and then warned me against calling Grandpa. I hate having a mother who can read your thoughts.

I am so glad you updated! It's hysterical how Jag looked scared of his daughter..and the flashbacks of Jaina pregnant. Love it! If she takes after Jaina he has reason to be afraid.

*giggles* That is indeed how I see Jaina's mothering skills operating. Great entry.

Not if you are away on a mission.
I can relate to the bored never going anywhere again part my wife's sister is about to have her first baby and was given bedrest over the weekend. If she called once she called a thousand times, terribly bored.
