At least Jacen ran into the worst possible person first. I can't think of anything more terrifying than being stumbled upon by one of the best pilots in the galaxy, who is also extremely pissed off, while I floated dead in space. The question that remains: Is this even the real Jacen Solo, or his he a clone? Jaacen Solo, who thinks he is Jacen Solo, but really isn't, because Jacen Solo is Darth Caedus. Or maybe Caedus is the clone? OK, my head hurts now. 	Part 4 Jaina couldn’t believe her bad luck, one of the biggest factors in her mission was to make sure Jacen didn’t find out about this, but once again her all knowing brother had been one step in front of her. Well he was about to be a dead know it all in a minute. She zoomed in on him firing lasers at full strength, surprising he started doing defensive procedures. What the heck was he doing? And why was he flying that ancient x-wing? She swung around and chased after him, if he wanted to be the mouse than she was more than happy to be the cat and there was no way he was going to be able to out maneuver her in that piece of junk he was flying. Jaina frowned, Jacen had really messed up this time, and he was even having the nerve to try to reach her in there twin bond, she rolled her eyes did he really think she was going to fall for that. But what really had bothered her was that when she had first felt him in the force, he had acted like he was overjoyed to see her and she could have swore she had felt his light. What a liar, did he really think she was that stupid? …………………………………………. Jacen was more confused than he had ever been in his life, Jaina his sister his own twin sister was chasing and shooting at him like she was out to kill him, That’s when one of her shots grazed the side of his shields and spun his ship to the side some, and she was doing a pretty good job at it too. Had the whole galaxy gone mad? Jacen didn’t know how he was going to get out of this one, she was obviously flying a better ship, plus she was a way better pilot than he was, his hyper drive wasn’t responding and to top it all off every time Jacen reached out to her though there twin bond all he got back was the cold shoulder. This is what a nightmare felt like in real life, Jacen was sure of that. Jacen joined in with the force using it as his eyes and started a more complicated procedure, he felt the force telling him what she was about to do, as he let his hands fall into the will of the force and successfully started evading her lasers more skillfully, Jacen just hoped his ship could keep up with the force. ……………………………………………… Jaina had also joined with the force using it to her full advantage, she did a spiral sending laser at him from all angles, she was gaining on him fast, but Jacen was doing his best junking and jinking his ship this way and that doing loops and spins, but he still hadn’t even tried a shot yet, not that he really could since Jaina was making sure to stay glued onto his tail, but she thought he would at least try. He probably just wanted to unravel her, making her think he was still a good guy by not willing to fire onto his sister and with flying such an old model of x-wing he was probably trying to make her think she had won this fight. But Jaina knew her brother better than that, He always had a trick up his sleeve, she just wondered what it was this time. …………………………………………………. Jacen swerved his ship to the right, that had been a close one; his left wing almost had gotten fried that time. Something blinked at him and when he looked down he saw that his shields were about gone, “blast it!” His droid was screaming and beeping more than Jacen thought possible for a droid, not that he blamed him, he very much wanted to do the same thing about now. But he had found his center in the force and that calmed him….somewhat. Jacen saw some bright laser fire to his left this time, barely grazing him this time, he wondered how much longer this was going to last, Jaina was closing in fast and it would just be a matter of seconds till one of her shots made contact. He felt something different coming this time though, and as he pulled his ship up he could barely see a shadow bomb fly past him, Jacen’s mouth gaped open, she had shot a shadow bomb at him! Jacen was almost mad now and he rarely got mad, “What is wrong with this galaxy!” he yelled while his little droid like an idiot tried to figure out if that was a real question or not. Jacen felt as Jaina pulled in even closer and felt her shots harder and harder to evade, he needed to think about this one, because as much as he loved his sister there was no way he wanted to let her kill him. He raked his brain and the force…..in his travels he had learned something that might be useful in this kind of case…….but it was tricky. Jacen now had to do 2 things at once, still flying and evading her shots while closing his eyes and putting plenty of his energy into this force trick he was trying to do. But using the force like this wasn’t really the hard part, for he had spent the last 15 years working on this balancing act of the force thing he was doing and had it nearly perfected, the only hard part of it was that usually he was doing it while to a hand to hand fight or lightsaber to lightsaber, something he knew better. Being in a dog fight in space was totally different, not really his cup of tea as his mom would say. Jaina used to tease him saying that while they were still in there’s mother womb, that she had stolen all the space ship flying skills genes from dad. Jacen was really starting to believe that now. So when another laser hit them in the rear and his droid started beeping his head off again Jacen could barely hear him as he flowed deeper and deeper into the force and it wasn’t really letting him comprehend what the droid was telling him, “What do you mean the hyperdrives working?” Jacen asked foggily….. The droid beeped some more and as his beeps made its way to Jacens brain...Jacen about jumped out of his seat “the hyperdrives working!? What! How?” The droid happily replied saying that last shot they had been hit with must have triggered something or bumped something back in place and that if Jacen wanted he had already a path charted out to the nearest planet. Jacen would have hugged the droid if he could, but that wasn’t really possible at the moment. He guessed maybe he had inherited something from dad after all; his luck. “Please do”. He told the droid. “We are so out of here”. …………………………………………….. Jaina had him in her sights; there was no way he was getting away this time. She had her fingers on the button and waited till just the right ….second ……NOW her finger went to the button but something held her back …could she do it? Could she kill her own brother…she hesitated…… …………………………………………….. 	Judging by Jacen's luck so far he will run into Ben next, but then Ben's lightsaber battery will die....should have used Duracell. 	wow, i've just gotten on a roll with this. I just can't stop writing. although I did have a hard time with this chapter, and i'm still not really sure about how it turned out but I hope all of you enjoy it! I've really enjoyed reading all the comments you all have posted and please post more after reading this chapter Thanks for reading!! ............................................................................................................................................................................ Part 5 Jacen blew out the breath that he hadn’t even known he had been holding. “Well that was………fun” he muttered sarcastically. His droid beeped back at him saying something like “that was not fun at all”. Jacen nearly slapped his face; even droids couldn’t understand one of his jokes. As they came out of hyperspace he almost worried that it had failed again but was relieved to see the planet in front of them, and he was met immediately and greeted by planet security. Jacen quickly told them the situation and the security gave him clearance right away. “Thank you Sir” Jacen said thankfully. “No problem, I’ll see to it that you have maintenance help waiting for you on the ground. All I need is a name now”. “Jacen Solo” he replied starting to prepare his ship for the planet surface, but his head came up instantly when he heard laughing, and saw that it was coming from the comm. “Right, and my names Han Solo” the security man joked back laughing his head off, “but that’s ok kid, you don’t have to tell me your name if you don’t want to, but if I were you I’d come up with a better stage name next time, most people won’t find it as funny as I do.” And with that the security guy sent him off, leaving Jacen to ponder what in the galaxy was so funny about it; he guessed maybe he had become a bigger icon than he had thought after the Yuuzhan Yong war. So with a still confused and broken heart from his earlier dog fight with Jaina, he gently made his way to the planet’s surface and landed where he had been instructed, and just like the security guy had promised, there was a maintenance droid waiting for him on the ground. Jacen popped open the top and stood up, an act that should have felt both painful and cramped after all the time he had just spent in the same position, but to Jacen pain was not a bother to him at all. He quickly threw off his gloves and helmet than flawlessly jumped to the ground. The maintenance droid instantly came over to him beeping questions and Jacen replied explaining what had happened with the hyperdrive and told him to work on it with his Astromech droid on it. The maintenance droid beeped an affirmative and left to find his R2 unit. As much as Jacen would have loved to study the boring parts of his ship with two very loud beeping droids, Jacen found himself walking away towards the city, he felt in the force a deep restless activity feeling coming from the city, it felt as if something big was about to happen. ………………………………….. Jaina slammed her fist on the control board. She had been this close, this close to ridding the galaxy of her evil brother! And it was all her fault, if only she hadn’t hesitated, if she had just taken the shot when she had the chance….her droid beeped at her. “No, I want you to find out where in hyperspace that path took him”. The droid beeped back saying something about how the odds were…., Jaina cut him off “what have I told you before? Never tells me the odds! We’re going to find him. Even if we have to jump to a every planet in the outer rim!” oh great, she thought, she was starting to sound like her father. The droid beeped something back at her, “oh shut up”, she bit back. This was her fault, the force had given her this one in a million shot and she had blown it, well she wasn’t about to accept defeat, because as most people knew she was as stubborn as they came, no, she was going to find Jacen, even if it took her forever, than she was going to blow him to pieces like she should have just done. No more hesitating, He might have been her brother at one time but after what had happened at Kashyyyk he obviously wasn’t anymore. The droid beeped back giving her many choices of planets he might be headed. Jaina bit her lip, what if he hadn’t decided to land on any of the planets and had just set another coarse in when he came out of hyperspace again and hightailed it back to his little fan base on Coruscant? Jaina continued to suck on her lip thinking, no, she decided, Jacen had been out here for a reason and he would surely still be close waiting for his next shot. Jaina flowed into the force looking into which planet felt right. The force wasn’t giving her a very clear answer though but she felt good about one of them and decided to take a chance and pulled the hyperdrive lever. ……………………………………… As Jacen walked down the streets he got this feeling that some people were staring and he could have swore he had heard someone had said his name. He turned his head and saw a few young women pointing and talking in hushed voices but when they noticed that he was looking at them they giggled and waved. Jacen didn’t know what to think of this but slowly brought up his hand and waved back politely. They weren’t the only ones though, because in the next 2 minutes there must have been more than a hundred people stare and wave as well, Jacen felt his eyes widen more and more as he walked, they were treating him like a celebrity. After all this time he had spent traveling to all these under developed underground planets, Jacen pretty much had become a hermit, and he wasn’t used to all this attention at once. Although much to his confusion he also felt a little fear and mistrust directed at him as well. As he neared one of the cantinas he saw and felt where that earlier restlessness he had felt in the force had been coming from, for as he walked over to it there was so many trying to get in the cantina that they covered the street in front of it, with people looking desperately though the windows who couldn’t get in. Jacen walked over to it trying to figure out what was so important that was happening, but just than some big alien threw an old man out of his way and into the street. Jacen quickly ran over and caught the man and gently set him on his feet, “are you ok?” he questioned concerned. “bless you”, the old man said thankfully as he regained his footing, “you wouldn’t believe some of the jerks now a day’s…” that’s when the old man suddenly stopped speaking as he looked up into his rescuers face and froze like he had just been shot with a stun ray. Jacen blinked back waiting for the old man to finish his sentence, he was starting to get used to these kinds of responses now. “But your… you’re…… your.” The old man stuttered back fearfully, he never finished his sentence though as he ran off as fast as his little old legs would allow him to. Jacen eyes widened in shock, what was it with these people! Was he really that scary? His sister used to tease him telling him that he had an innocent baby face look to him and that he would probably never be even able to scare a insect with it, she hinted maybe that was why animals liked him so much. Well his face must have taken some major changes in the last few years than, if he was able to scare old men now. Someone must have noticed the shock on his face though because one of the men in the crowd came over to him and smiled at him, “aw don’t worry about him, he just thought you were someone else”. He said reassuringly. Jacen looked up at him, it was an alien of a species he couldn’t remember what was called but he recalled his mother saying something about these aliens having very good memory. “And who would that be? Because I think I’ve been getting mixed up with him a lot today”. The alien laughed at that, “I would imagine that, because you sure do look a lot like him. Although unlike most of the people around here I’ve actually seen Colonel Solo in person, and his skin is quite a bit darker than yours, plus his eyes are a lot lighter shade than yours”, he said pointing at Jacen’s deep dark brown eyes. Jacen’s eyebrows beetled together, “Colonel Solo?” “Yeah. He’s actually about to address the senate on Kashyyyk failure in a minute, that’s why we’re all gathered here. You should watch”, he said, than looking back at the crowd he added, “Well if you can”. Once again Jacen found himself utterly confused, it was now official, he thought thinking back to his earlier thoughts, the whole galaxy HAD gone mad. Between hyperdrive failures to laser firing sisters to speculating fans to fearful old men to someone called Colonel Solo that supposedly looked just like him and had the same name and now something about a failure at Kashyyyk? What was with all this? Well one way or another he was going to find out, so pushing his way through the crowd and using the force to keep people back he slowly made his way into the cantina and his eyes instantly flew to the holonet. ……………………………………….. Ceadus made his way to the platform, but stopped to examine his appearance before entering, and stood in front of one of the full length mirrors by the entrance. He ran one of his hands though his brown hair, it had gotten long, he really needed to get it cut again, as his hand slid from his hair he let it fall on his face and was a little surprised to see how much darker his skin had gotten, he smiled, he was really starting to show his colors now, his eyes were almost yellow now, he truly did look like the sith lord he was now, but as he stared he could have swore that his image changed to Darth Vader for second, but then quickly changed back to his image. He smiled wickedly, even Vader was proud of him. He nodded at himself one last time than continued on to the platform with his cape flowing behind him, several people rushed away in fear as he passed them, he smiled at that but kept moving and made his way to where Cha Niathal was already standing and smiled out at the senate, than noticing the holocams that were floating around he gave them a good smile as well. As Ceadus started to open his month to say something though, the senate started an uproar, He frowned, governments should always wait for its leader to start the debate, not all of its senators to just start talking at once, this was definitely going to have to change. He put a glaring look on his face and raised his hands and his voice using the force to make it so everyone could hear it. “Everyone you need to take your seats and resort to silence until it’s time for you to speak!” He said sternly using the force to influence the senators greatly. It worked as they all instantly shut up and took their seats, but there’re faces didn’t change at all, some of them were still really annoyed with him. But Ceadus didn’t mind, one day soon they would all understand, he was sure of it. “Good evening everyone”, he started, “as we all know something horrible as happened at Kashyyyk this week”, he heard a few of them make a few smart remarks and looked out at them sternly. “I can see some of you are a little confused on this issue so I’ll speak it real slowly for those of you. What happened at Kashyyyk was a mix of about everything that could have happened wrong did. Between traitor Jedi, to rogue planets holding back very needed battle ships and maybe even giving them to the Confederation,” that’s when they all started arguing all over again but he quickly hushed them and continued, “to surprise attacks from the Confederation, than to even more traitors as the Hapes have now betrayed us all now as well”, he added that last part a little heartbroken but didn’t let it show. Once again the senate started an uproar but this time Ceadus didn’t bother to stop them as they were now arguing over what they should be, all the traitors. Cha Niathal looked over at him frowning, but Ceadus had already known she wasn’t buying any of this, she was still mad at him for even going to Kashyyyk. In her eyes if he had never left the battle he was supposed to stay at, that all this never would have happened. Ceadus couldn’t believe how stupid some people were. After a while though some of the senators started asking some questions and Ceadus started answering, always having a smart and logical answer. This was one of the things that he was most gifted with, for Ceadus always loved a good argument. “One good thing has come out of this though”, he continued after answering most of there’re questions, he looked out at everyone, trying to make as many eye connections as possible, “for it is for this reason that I do not look at this as a defeat at all” he paused, “but a victory!” immediately some of them broke out again yelling but Ceadus continued “For because of this we have shown deep courage and a intolerance of what Kashyyyk or any other planet in the future might try to get away with. For I believe that we have just shown the galaxy the strength it needs, the strength that only we can supply!” at that he raised his fist in the air “For I promise to all of you today, for as long as I hold this leadership, that there is not a single thing I will allow myself to tolerate that is not beneficial to this Galaxy!” And with that to Niathal’s disbelief, made a good part of the senate get to its feet and break out in applause. ……………………………………………. 	Hmm...I am really curious about Caedus now. He is a little heartbroken by the betrayal of Hapes. Does that mean that Caedus is in love with Tenel Ka? Is he Allana's father? I'm sure I will have to wait quite a while for all these answers, although the writing so far makes me think it won't be all bad ;-) -----signature----- We don't have to win.
