The Jaina and Jag banter made me laugh, I feel for Zekk since I was often in the middle of similar arguements and was threatened by both sides to take their side. So I wonder what Tahiri and Alema are going to do about this? Nice job.

lol Tahiri on the asking side, I think Jacen has some other method to free himslef anyways. He always comes up ewith things I wouldn held possible,

It seems all may not be lost with Tahiri, especially since she now feels like she's been deceived into the wrong side. I don't know that she should really be confiding much in Alema, though.
Jacen is a hoot, singing to himself to pass the time, and still attempting his bad jokes.
Jaina and Jag are arguing again, and seem to enjoy it? Hmm... where have I seen such behavior before.
Your new method of posting seems to have done the trick. I think all those squiggles just kept the page going on and on.
I'll be busy with Passover over the next week or so, I'll try to read and review when I can. Otherwise, I'll probably have a ton of catch up to do at the end!
yeah I don't want to write Tahiri as the bad girl here. in my mind she's kind of like Vader. lost her love and when she turned, she turned to Caedus. sad story I think.

Zekk has more brains than I ever gave him credit for, of course most people would just avoid being in a position where they had to sneak away from a Jaina vs. Jag argument. I think he is definitely correct about arguing being a favorite pastime for Jaina and Jag, that is all they ever do! Their little commando raid on the Anakin Solo should be interesting, now I just want to know whose side Tahiri will end up on when it inevitably winds down to Jedi vs. Jedi on board the ship.
Speaking of Tahiri, I am glad that you are writing her more like the old Tahiri. The one before the Vong war who could talk and talk and talk, I missed her. Just hope she ends up on the right side.

lol i'm glad it made you laugh. I was laughing the whole time I wrote it too.
yeah Zekk's not really ever in a good position with those two. I feel for him too, but hopefully he'll set them both streight soon

he might...never know. yes I agree, he always comes up with the most unthought of plans. part of the solo triat I think usally works too

Part 30
Caedus was sitting in his office as mad as ever as his hand went in and out of balled fists.
The battle on Endor had gone terribly wrong. He had had it all planned out, and it had almost worked too if it hadn’t been for Jacen Solo. He almost had Luke, he almost had his revenge. But Jacen had taken that away from him as well.
Jacen Solo
He growled, that name hunted his every thought. It was his first name. The one he had killed. Or so he thought.
He had known this day would someday come. Despite what Lumiya had assured him, he still knew. Jacen would return. He knew. He should have been more prepared.
Now because he wasn’t, he had lost his revenge.
Luke was still alive.
Caedus gritted his teeth together. If this was his destiny, then why was the galaxy being so hard about giving it to him? He figured it was just a challenge though. A challenge to see if he what it took to be the galaxy’s next ruler. It would be hard, but he would be victorious.
He suddenly stood up and paced his small office. He knew he didn’t have time for this. That he should be writing his speech for the meeting tomorrow. But he just couldn’t clear his mind enough to focus on it. And he somehow knew that Jacen Solo had something to do with that as well.
He sighed and finally stopped. He knew there was only one thing that was going to settle his brain, but he really didn’t want to do it. But part of him did. He wanted to bring as much pain upon Jacen as he had him. But part of him was disgusted with the idea of seeing Jacen again. He had a light about him that fried Caedus’s body, and he didn’t like that feeling. He shivered, but thrust for revenge won out and Caedus made the walk to Jacen’s room.
It had been two day’s since he had showed Jacen to Tahiri and Alema, and so far he hadn’t heard a peep from either of them since. He wondered if he should be worried about that, but decided that if he didn’t hear anything about Tahiri, then that was a very good thing.
He finally made it to Jacen’s secret cell. It was hidden away in a part of the ship that he didn’t allow staff go in, and it made the perfect place to hide a secret prisoner.
The outside of the room was covered with stacked Ysalamiri. And he shivered with the drainage of power he intently felt. Normally he never would have allowed himself to feel such weakness, but he didn’t think there were any options to this one. Well there was one. But Caedus would never do that.
He touched the keypad and slowly typed in the code.
…………………………….
Jacen was still just sitting there contemplating life when he heard the door suddenly swoosh open. He looked up in surprise, the pain droid shouldn’t be coming for another few hours and he had just eaten lunch a couple hours ago. But when he saw who it was, his look of curiosity quickly turned to a glare.
“What are you doing here?” Jacen asked him a cold voice.
Caedus gave him an evil smile. “What, no welcome?”
Jacen eyes never left him as Caedus gingerly walked around the small dark room. “What do you want? Jacen asked.
Caedus just ignored him for a few minutes while he continued to walk around like he was trying to place his thoughts. Jacen sighed, but if Caedus had risked the Ysalamiri to come visit him, he surly had a reason that Jacen would soon learn. So he waited.
And the time came soon enough as Caedus finally turned to him. He saw the words form in his mouth but for some reason Jacen didn’t understand it.
Caedus raised an eyebrow at him, “did you hear what I just said Jacen?” He asked the dazed looking Jacen.
Jacen’s eyes blinked a couple times and when he opened them one more time, his eyes were clear again. What was that…? He wondered. His eyes turned back to Caedus in confusion.
Caedus gave him a weird look but said it again. “Do you want to know the truth?”
Jacen narrowed his eyes, “What truth? What more is there besides you being my evil clone?”
Caedus didn’t like the sound of ‘evil clone’ but he decided it wasn’t worth it and went on. Soon Jacen would learn. Soon. “So I’m guessing that you don’t want to know details?”
At that Jacen’s head jerked up to look into Caedus’s face, “your going to tell me?”
Caedus slowly took a seat behind him but nodded, “you’re not going to like it...” he warned, but inside he smiled. This was going to hurt Jacen, and he would have his revenge.
Jacen’s eyes flickered for a second but then he nodded, “do you worse”. He said challengingly.
Caedus smiled then started the story, “I guess I asked you about Lumiya before?”
Jacen nodded.
“Good. Because she’s where this story starts”. He said. “It was during the Vong war when she met up with Vergere again…”
“What does Vergere have to do with this?” Jacen asked as he dreaded the answer he knew was going to be bad. But he had to know.
Caedus smiled at him, and Jacen didn’t like the look of it at all. “Well pretty much…most of it.”
Jacen gave him a horrified surprised look, “huh?”
“It’s quite easy to understand really. Vergere was the main manufacture of me.” He answered, as he was enjoying every moment of Jacen’s reactions. “I assume you remember that slave seed that had been implanted in you during your time with the Vong and Vergere?”
Jacen gave him a confused look, “yes of course. But what does that have to do….” He stopped in mid sentence when it dawned upon him. “No. she wouldn’t have.”
“Oh yes she would”. Caedus answered. He was really enjoying this now. “She gave that slave seed, that was covered in your DNA and really a part of you to Lumiya.”
Jacen’s mouth gapped open and he found he didn’t have any words.
Caedus laughed at that. “At first Lumiya wanted you. They both knew how strong you were and what pain it would bring upon your family if you ever became a sith. Plus there really wasn’t anyone else who could fill the position better anyway. They thought you would be perfect. You had so many questions, and they thought that if they supplied answers, that you might be persuaded over to their side. But want they hadn’t known, was what a huge conscience you have. Vergere was the first to understand this and so she told Lumiya that she didn’t think it would ever be possible for you to go over to the dark side. You had too much of your uncle in you. But Lumiya was stubborn; she was determined to get you one way or another.”
Jacen’s eye’s sunk, “so she cloned me”.
“Exactly”. Caedus said has he fought the feelings of victory. “But that wasn’t easy for them as well”, he went on. “Lumiya knew that even if she cloned you. She was still going to get the same Jacen, the one with the heart that was way too big, that had too much light in it. She knew that she was never going to get the Jacen she wanted unless she changed a few things.”
Jacen’s eyes widened, but he didn’t interrupt.
“So she used the ancient sith cloning device.” He said with an evil smile.
Jacen raised a disbelieving eyebrow, “ancient sith cloning device?”
Caedus’s smile turned into a grin, “yep. It was lost a long time ago, but Lumiya found it. IT had the ability to pump darkness into the soul as that’s what it feed upon. But she pushed it farther than that. When she put your slave seed into the cloning tank, she added a few other things as well.”
Jacen felt like he was going to faint, “what other things?” he asked in dread. Suddenly everything was starting to make sense.
Caedus’s eyes darkened with pride as he answered. “Only a dose of about every other greatest sith lord of our history. Including some of her.” Caedus added.
Jacen’s eyes were glazing over again as he felt himself falling back again the pole he was tied to. This was too much information all at once. This was too much heartache to take in all at once. This was the guy everyone had thought was him. This was him. And all the time Jacen had just let it happen, why oh why did he stay on his force journey so long?
As feelings of regret and hopelessness took over Jacen’s body, Caedus watched with great satisfaction. All the headache Jacen had caused was now just a distant thought now as he now had his revenge.
After minutes or hours of silence, Jacen finally spoke again. “So after I left. You just thought you’d take my place?”
“You made it all too easy.” Caedus answered, making sure to hit right on the core of Jacen’s regret.
Jacen had tears streaming down his face now. “Now what?” he asked. “You obliviously don’t need me. Why didn’t you just kill me?
Caedus looked at him for a long moment but didn’t answer and as Jacen continued to stare, Caedus finally got up and without a word, left the room.
But Jacen didn’t need Caedus to tell him. He knew. From the way Caedus had looked at him to the way he had acted in their battle against each other. Jacen knew.
For if Jacen was to die, then a chain reaction would hit and kill Caedus as well.
If Jacen died, then Caedus died too. They were one.

Oh man it just keeps getting interesting. Nice job, if Jacen dies, Caedus dies. Does it work the other way around as well?

no it doesn't work the other way. Caedus is just connected to Jacen because he's his clone. but if Caedus dies, it doesn't have any affect on Jacen. very good question!

Hmmm...that was an interesting revelation. Answers my question about why Jacen is alive though, I had no idea what purpose that could serve until now. I am still rooting for Tahiri to wake up and smell the coffee she could easily get Jacen out of there while Caedus was busy concentrating on something else. Of course there is Alema standing in her way, but I don't think she could stop Tahiri if she was determined. You have any plans for a Tahiri post where she battles internally over what she is going to do? That might be cool, of course so would Tahiri barging through the door to Jacen's cell and busting him out of there. I'll just wait and see what you come up with, you haven't disappointed me yet.
