	Title: Emergence-A Jacen Solo Story Author: smash128 timeframe: Post NJO, Pre DN, AU characters: Jacen Solo, Others summary: Jacen Solo, tired of everyone underestimating his abilities strikes out on his own, eventually running into a man who is a friend of his father, Han Solo notes: Takes place after New Jedi Order, but before Dark Nest. Some parts may seem out of character. Also this was done after encouragements from jacensolofangirl2007. Also I stopped reading the books after NJO was finished and I haven't read any profic Star Wars for awhile so I may be rusty with terms and such. "There she goes again." Jacen Solo sighed as he watched his twin fly out of the hangar with her squadron. His eyes watching the X-Wings and lone Clawcraft zoom out. He had walked his sister out to the hangar to give her the usual goodbye hug and kiss on the forehead. He knew she would be safe as she had Kyp Durron and Jagged Fel to watch her back. "Jacen, hey Jacen." Jacen jumped as he felt a hand touch his shoulder and brought him out of his stupor. He turned around and he saw Zekk standing there with a concerned look on his face. "Zekk." Was all Jacen could say at that moment. "Are you ok? I saw you lost in your thoughts and..." Zekk started. "I'm fine, just thinking." Jacen was about to walk to his quarters when he heard an all too familar voice ring through the hangar. "Hey you scruffy nerfherder, get over here." Jacen turned to see his dad Han Solo standing on the loading ramp of the Millnenium Falcon, wearing his trademark Solo grin, various crates were lying around him. Jacen jogged over to the ship to greet his dad, "How you doing kiddo?" Han ruffled Jacen's hair. "Fine dad, but whats all this?" Jacen pointed to all the crates. "Supply shipment run, your uncle says that someone has been sneaking into the academy and running off with supplies the last couple days and now they are running short. Your mother has comissioned me to deliver this newest bath of supplies to the academy. Can you help me load some of these crates onto the Falcon, some of them are heavy." Han said. "Well dad, I guess I should help you, after all you never know what these crates can do." Jacen joked. "Hey I may be getting old, but it doesn't mean I'm crippled." Han retorted back to Jacen while he just gave his dad the trademark Solo grin back. 'I wonder where he gets that from?' Han wondered as he and Jacen began lifting the crates into the Falcon. -Hours later- Jacen emerged himself fully into the Force as eight training remotes circled around him, he activated his lightsaber, the emerald green blade illumninating the pratice room he was standing in. He got into a combat stance and nodded as if to an invisible foe. He brought the blade to front of his face as the first remote fired, the bolt bounced off the blade and hit the wall. He then brought his lightsaber behind his back and repelled a couple bolts that were fired at him from behind by two remotes. He carefully swung his blade inplanned and graceful motions as he went into a 360 degree circle repelling the bolts from all directions. Some of the fired bolts were directed back at the remotes. He then nodded again and the remotes stopped and hovered in midair. "Doing this isn't the same as against someone with a blaster." he sighed as he deactivated his lightsaber. With a motion with his hand the training remotes returned to their resting spot on the shelves on the wall. He headed for his quarters and walked into the refresher to wash up and change before going with his mom and dad and have dinner with Luke, Mara Jade Skywalker and his parents, "Jaina's lucky she doens't have to come to these things. " Jacen grumbled. As much as he loved spending time with his parents, uncle and aunt at some point during the dinner they would get onto some important discussion concerning the state of the galaxy, and as much as would like to enjoy it, he found it boring. "You're lucky you don't have to be at another family dinner." Jacen sent through their bond hoping she felt it, it gave him relief when she did. "I think you are mistaken brother dear, Kyp is making dinner tonight and I can only dread of what he's going to serve us." Jaina sent back through their bond, Jacen only chuckled. When they were younger when Kyp used to babysit them, the twins often gave him a hard time, especially his cooking. "Though I have to admit, some of his cooking is actually pretty good." Jacen sent. "You're lucky you're not here with me, I would've hit you for saying that." She sent back. He only chuckled as he bid his goodbye and went to the refresher hoping that it would improve him from his sour angsty mood he was in. He went straight for the sonic shower and cleaned himself up, but his mood wasn't really cleaned up as well. He reflected on his life and the life of his friends. Jaina had gone off with Twin Suns on an assignment, Zekk was here at the base with Jacen, course what he did on his own time Jacen never knew. Tenel Ka had gone back to Hapes to sort out political disputes that have risen due to vicious pirate attacks happening in the Hapes Consortium. He wished the days being back at the Jedi Academy on Yavin 4 would return where life was much more carefree and the only thing you had to worry about was a stern lecturing from Uncle Luke after you were caught skipping a class to go swimming. He dressed himself into what he considered casual and walked towards the dining quarters. "Is something wrong Jacen, you hardly touched your nerf steak?" Leia's voice brought him out of his stupor. Jacen looked up at his mother, and the rest of his family who were staring back at him with concerned looks. "No nothing is wrong, I'm just not hungry." Jacen replied, "I have something to do, thank you for dinner." He got up and left. "What do you think that was about?" Leia asked her husband. "I don't know, I never know what is going on with our kids these days." Han Solo waited a little bit then grabbed Jacen's nerfsteak and finished it to which Leia rolled her eyes at him. Jacen made his way towards the hangar, he needed to get away from all this. To take a vacation and get a little excitement in his life. He saw a lone X-Wing in the hangar and immediately the opportunity presented itself, Jacen knew he wasn't as great as a pilot as his twin Jaina, but he could manage. He secretly changed into a flightsuit and packed minor supplies into the X-Wing. He had made friends with an astromech droid R3C4 and convinced the litle droid to come with him. After strapping R3 and himself into the X-Wing he started the ship and lifted off the ground and flew out of the base. "X-Wing pilot you are not cleared, return to base immediately." the X-Wing's built in comlink rang, obviously the people who monitored all ships that were entering or leaving the planet didn't know who was piloting the X-Wing. "Who cares." Jacen pressed a button that muted out the comlink, "Where should we go R3?" The astromech droid printed out a couple lines on the screen to which Jacen read, "Tatooine? Be reasonable." R3 printed off another line, "Taris, the Coruscant of the Outer Rim? Ok why not." Jacen punched in the coordinates, "Coordinates locked in, here we go." Jacen pushed the lever forward and the X-Wing jumped into hyperspace, "R3, give me a notice when we reach Taris." Jacen then allowed himself into a Force meditation. 	jacensolofangirl2007-Thanks for liking it jadesabre75-Thanks for reading Part 2 Jacen awoke from the beeps and whistles that R3 was giving off, reading the information that R3 printed off for him he knew he was approaching Taris and proceeded to pull out of hyperspace. The blue hue of the planet shined into his cockpit as he made his descent. Jacen has done some research on the planet, as he once read that during the Jedi Civil War, a Sith Lord known as Darth Malak had his fleet fire onto the planet surface, killing billions in his search for Bastila Shan, a Jedi Knight in the Old Republic. "Ok R3, let's find a place to land." Jacen told the astromech droid after he got landing clearence, soon he was flying through the skyscrapers of Taris, "Look at this R3, Taris almost reminds me of Coruscant." Jacen couldn't help, but gasp as he soon figured that Taris must of been a city covered planet like Coruscant. Reaching the hangar he was assigned to land to, he did the check offs of powering down his X-Wing and exited the craft. "Stay with the X-Wing R3, and if things get testy then just take off." He told the astromech droid who whistled sadly as it watched Jacen leave the hangar. Jacen weaved in and out between nonstop moving crowds of humans and aliens alike. He stopped in an alleyway to catch a breather from the city life of Taris. "Welcome to Taris." a voice behind Jacen rang. "Oh thank you." Jacen courteously replied. "Now give me your belongings!" the voice said now in a more commanding tone. Jacen felt a blaster pistol push into his back, "I said give me your belongings!" the voice repeated. "How about you drop your blaster and we can talk this out." Jacen offered to the being holding the blaster. "Nice try, but I'm not that stupid I faced your kind before." the voice chuckled. "Your loss then." Jacen spun around in a blink of an eye, he got sight of his soon to be mugger. It was a Gran, Jacen grabbed the hand the Gran was holding the blaster with and twisted it. The Gran yelped in pain as he dropped his blaster. Using all his strentgh he threw the Gran against a nearby parked speeder. The Gran quickly got up and crawled towards his blaster, but soon found himself face to face with a green lightsaber pointed right at his neck. Jacen then called the Gran's blaster to his other hand with the Force and pointed it at the alien, "So what were you saying about belongings?" Jacen asked with a smirk. "You're a Jedi?" The Gran gasped. "Yeah what else do you call a person holding a lightsaber and calling objects to his hand with just a wave of the hand." Jacen sarcastically retorted. "Please please, I want no trouble." The Gran pleaded. Jacen sighed as he deactivated his lightsaber and tossed the blaster at the Gran's feet. "Now get out of here, before I change my mind." Jacen said, the Gran quivered for a bit before grabbing his blaster and running off and out into the busy streets of Taris. He waited a few minutes pondering on his confrontation with the Gran, then shaking his head and walked back onto the streets of Taris, "I wonder on how R3's doing." Jacen said to himself as he thought of the poor little droid he left at the hangar. The Jedi noticed that evening was soon falling onto the planet and he soon found himself in need of refreshments, it didn't take long until Jacen saw the Upper City Cantina which like the rest of Taris had been restored after the Sith's bombardment of the planet. The cantina was a lively place as Grans, Rodians, Transdoshans, and Bothans drank and mingled around. Bith musicians were standing in one corner playing music while Twi;lek dancers danced around on their platforms. In one corner of the cantina a crowd gathered around a Pazaak table and placing bets. Jacen walked towards the bar where a Chiss bartender was busy cleaning a glass. "Bartender." Jacen shouted, to which the bartender didn't hear him. "Bartender!" Jacen shouted again as he hit the bar counter with his fist. This time it got the bartender's attention. "Ahh yes, what can I do for youss?" The bartender asked. "Corellian Ale." Jacen ordered. "Of coursse ssir." The bartender walked back towards the wall where he had bottles of various kinds of liqours and poured the ale into a glass and slid it onto the counter. Jacen grabbed the glass and downed the drink in two gulp, "How are youss going to pay for that ssir?" The bartender asked. "Uh." Jacen stuttered. "Well I likes to show the customers the prices of their drinkss." The bartender held out a datapad and punched in the drink, he took one look at Jacen and smirked evily and punched in a few more numbers then he showed Jacen the price. "Thats outlandish!" Jacen nearly swore as he stared at the price,"You can get the same stuff at a Mos Eisley cantina for less then half the price." "Its your loss sirs, I just showing you how it is, I likes to have my credentials." The bartender held out his hand. "Baldarek, are you giving another customer trouble?" a man's voice came from behind Jacen. Both the bartender and Jacen turned around and stared as a man wearing corellian black pants with black boots, a white shirt with black jacket over it. His black hair almost formed a mullet and he had facial hair from his moustache area connecting down to his chin. But what caught Jacen's attention the most was the eye patch on the man's left eye, "Now show the kid the right price for the ale." "Whys should Is?" the bartender retorted back. The man with the eye patch's only response was pointing a blaster at the bartender's head, "Oks oks just not the face." The bartender showed the correct price for the ale and Jacen paid for it. He turned around to walk out of the cantina when he saw the man with the eye patch motion for him to come to his table. "Uh thanks for that back there." Jacen said as he sat down. "It was no problem kid, just remember this one fact: Never trust a bartender with bad grammar." The man said which made the two chuckle. "Oh my name's Jacen Solo." Jacen offere his hand and the man shook it. "Solo? Solo, you wouldn't be related to ol' Han Solo would ya?" the man asked. "Yeah, he's my father." Jacen grinned. "Never thought that old space pirate would settle down and have kids." the man chuckled. "You knew my father?" Jacen asked. "Course I did, he and I worked together during the Rebellion's fight against the Empire. What glorious days those were, trust me kid back in those days I was more harder then I am now. I been out of the loop with whats happening in the galaxy so where I've been spending my life lately you didn't give much news on whether not the chief of state was given a vote of no confidence. So this news of Han Solo having offspring comes as a bit of a surprise to me." The man then grabbed a bottle on a nearby table and drank out of it. "Dad never told me, my sister, or my younger brother about you." Jacen murmured. "Solo had more kids, this justs gets better and better." The man laughed though it was obvious to Jacen the man was drunk, "So tell me Jacen, what brings out all the way out here to Taris or the Outer Rim for that matter?" "Well I'm doing a bit of identity searching, to see who I am. My uncle is a Jedi Master and founder of the New Jedi Order, my sister was a fighter pilot who flew in Rogue Squadron during the Yuuzhan Vong crisis and later became the leader of her own squadron Twin Suns. I've done my fair share of things during the war with the Vong, but still I feel its not enough. "Well kid, if you're looking for something to do. I may be in need of your services." The man said. "Really?" Jacen replied. "Of couse." The man brought out a datapad punched in information and handed it to Jacen, "Just head to these coordinates, there's where I'll be." "But these coordinates lead to Geonosis." Jacen looked at the information. "Of course, its a perfect spot to keep my operations out of the public eye, well see you around kid." The man finished his bottle and got up and made to leave the cantina, leaving Jacen to look over the datapad. "Hey wait." Jacen shouted to which the man turned around, "You never told me your name." "Its Col Serra." The man bowed, "Commander Col Serra." Then with a wave Col exited the cantina. "Col Serra..." Jacen said to himself as he pondered on the events of leading up to meeting this man. Was it fate to meet Col Serra or was Serra just offering to help another customer get out of paying an outlandish price for a drink? 	This seems like it could be interesting. I actually haven't really read anything that covers Jacen's soul searching after NJO so it will be a new area for me. I like how you have brought some of the video game EU into the new era and I almost expected Kyle Katarn to walk up to the bar. Also, if Jacen is going to Geonosis next then it seems like you will be bringing a lot of story lines together with this fic. I was wondering if that was Katarn's old bartender from Nar Shaddaa I'm pretty sure I didn't let him live though This is really good, Smash I love all the video game connections. Nice to see Taris in the post-Empire EU and Col Serra as well. Also kind of a treat to see a post-NJO story where Jacen has turned into a crazed Sith. Part 3 Jacen disengaged the hyperdrive as his X-Wing dropped out of hyperspace right out of orbit of Geonosis."There it is R3, Geonosis." Jacen said to the astromech as he viewed the planet over. Geonosis, perhaps what made the planet famous was it was where the Clone Wars started. Across the planet's surface buildings were disguised to look like natural rock formations on the planet and remains of Old Republic AT-TEs, Gunships, and the CIS' vast collection of broken B1 and B2 Battle Droids. Jacen had once heard rumors that back when the Rebel Alliance was still fighting the Empire that Wedge Antilles and Rogue Squadron were led to Geonosis after Imperial Storm Commandos attacked Rebel transports during a raid at Bakura. Wedge himself had engaged in a battle with an Imperial Escort Carrier. Antilles successfully managed to shoot down the carrier, but the resulting explosions from the carrier overloaded Wedge's X-Wing's systems and was forced to make a crash landing onto the surface of Geonosis. Wedge with the help of his astromech droid at the time R5 traversed the Geonosian landscape batling stormtroopers and battle droids alike before confronting a former rebel who defected to the Empire piloting a Republic Gunship on his own. Wedge reunited with Rogue Squadron when R5 and himself found a unused yet still flyable Jedi Starfighter where the squadron engaged with more escort carriers before leaving the system. Jacen noted to himself to ask Wedge if those rumors were true. "Where exactly on Geonosis does Col Serra live on, it can take me forever to find him on this barren planet." Jacen sighed. R3 spun his head in all directions before beeping and whistling to Jacen, "What another ship, what do you mean another ship? We're the only ones...out here." Jacen's eyes widened as he saw an Imperial Star Destroyer off in the distance, "Just perfect." he groaned. ------------------------------------------ (Aboard the bridge of the star destroyer) "Commander Serra, we have a X-Wing fighter on our scanners." a man said to Col Serra who walked up to look at the screen. A few minutes passed before a smile crept unto Serra's face as he turned to the man. "Well what are you waiting for, hail the X-Wing." Col ordered. "Right away sir." The man saluted and went right to work on hailing the X-Wing. --------------------------------------------- (Jacen's X-Wing) "Just perfect." he groaned, "I'm all the way out here at Geonosis and I'm staring down a star destroyer, can it get any worse?" He then saw on the comm panel that was being hailed by the star destroyer, "It just got worse." as he sighed defeat and opened the channel with the star destroyer. "Unidentified X-Wing, this is the star destroyer Renegade, state your business for being out here." a person's rang on the com. "I was asked to come here, by a man I met on Taris." Jacen hesitantly replied back. "Who asked for to come here to meet with him?" the person on the com asked. "Col Serra, Commander Col Serra. He believes I could be of service to him." Jacen explained. "And why would this Col Serra asked the service of?" the person asked. "Jacen Solo." Jacen hesitantly gave his name. There were murmurs and voices talking on the com and to Jacen it seemed to take forever. "Forgive us for any complications, follow the escort fighters to the docking bay." the man said then clicked off the com. "Thank you." Jacen muttered as he switched off his com and waited for the escort fighters to arrive. It didn't take long as he saw what appeared to be Tie Fighters coming from the star destroyer, except they were weird looking for Tie Fighters. The ships had the basic cockpit ball shape of Tie Fighters, but the panels on it resembled the S-Foils of an X-Wing. Jacen admitted he be surprised it the panels opened like the S-Foils of an X-Wing. Instead of a direct com, he received on his onscreen readout that he should follow the fighters. Jacen got into formation with the escort fighters and made their way towards the star destroyer. He had doubts that Col Serra would really work with the Imperials besides having Imperial craft at his dispose, but he still questioned the man. However all this questions were to rest as his eyes rested on the image that was implanted on the top of the star destroyer. The image had the black silhouette of the Millenium Falcon on it with the symbol of the Rebel Alliance on the Falcon. Jacen saw that the star destroyer had been modified as several hangars were on the sides of the ship. The escort fighters were heading towards the first hangar on the left side of the ship and Jacen followed suit. -------------------------------- (Inside Star Destroyer Renegade) Jacen landed his X-Wing in the hangar as he saw multiple people dressed in different garbs of clothing walk up, he climbed out of the X-Wing where he saw Col Serra walking up. "Hey kid, how you doing?" Col asked as if the two had been best friends as he held his hand out for Jacen to shake. "Not bad, uh whats all this?" Jacen motioned all around the ship. "Well this is our humble abode, you may not notice it yet, but the Renegade is far from your average star destroyer." Col smirked as he led Jacen through the hangar. He then noticed Jacen looking at the Tie Fighters that were shaped like X-Wings, "Tie Hunters, not too many of them now after the Empire abandoned the Tie Hunter project. They might not look like much, but they got it where it counts kid. Col smirked. Col led Jacen to his private quarters which was completely in black. The black marble floor mirrored everything around the room. "Caf?" Col offered a cup to Jacen to which he quickly took the cup and drank it. "So what services do you need me for Commander?" Jacen asked. "Well kid, I'll give it straight to you. I don't normally let anyone join my group as we often do things that could be considered unlawful by the Galactic Alliance. I often had soldiers question their loyalties due for the fact they went against their government on the missions I had them do. If you're serious about this then you must give me your full cooperation and trust with me. Will you do this?" Col asked. Jacen thought for a moment and let his eyes wander before returning his gaze to Col Serra. He pondered that he would probably be going against the Galactic Alliance and even the Jedi Order. What would his uncle think of him now, his parents? What would Jaina think of him now of what he was about to do..to become. "I'll do it." Jacen said firmly. "Good enough for me kid." Col nodded and smiled. Then the sound of a hatch opening and closing signaling the presence of another in Col's quarters. "Excuse me Commander, but the Tie Hunters are now ready to be tested to be combat worthy." a female's voice said from behind Jacen which caused the Jedi Knight to turn around. Jacen gasped as he saw what he considered one of the most attractive women in the galaxy. If you managed to combine the beauty, charm, pride, and power of Tenel Ka, Danni Quee, and Tahiri then you got this woman. What got him the most was the woman's red eyes which was a major contrast to his brother Anakin's green eyes, they weren't the glowing red of the Chiss however. They appeared to be normal human eyes except for the red pupils. The womn walked up with a confident stride. "Excellent, Jacen this is Ashlen Tecklas, meet our chief mechanic of the Renegade. Ashlen, this is Jacen Solo meet our newest recruit. "Hope you can stay in the game longer then the last fellow." Ashlen smirked as she looked Jacen over. "Be careful Ashlen, he's a Jedi Knight." Col said which caused Ashlen's eyebrows to raise in amusement. "A Jedi huh? Well don't expect special treatment from me." She said as he nodded to Col Serra and left the quarters. Jacen just watched her leave to which Col stared at Jacen with a smile on his face. "Just met her and you're already attracted." Col joked which caused Jacen to jump, "Don't worry it happens to a lot of the newer male recruits. "Why does she have the..." Jacen started. "Red eyes? Well her father was a normal human from Corellia, but her mother was a Chiss." Col explained, "Now onto business Jacen." he said in a more serious tone as Jacen looked back at Col, "Tell me, have you ever heard of a man called Rizlem Slag?" ---------------------- And another part down, oh yeah. 	There is something slightly humorous about a freelancer with their own Star Destroyer. I bet it really riles up the Imperials as well. I'm really interested to find out what it is that Serra'a little group does with all the firepower and how they will use Jacen's help. This Ashlen Tecklas character seems intriguing and it seems like you'll be having more with her in later posts. A possible love interest perhaps? 	Wedge Antilles and Rogue Squadron were led to Geonosis after Imperial Storm Commandos attacked Rebel transports during a raid at Bakura. Wedge himself had engaged in a battle with an Imperial Escort Carrier. Antilles successfully managed to shoot down the carrier, but the resulting explosions from the carrier overloaded Wedge's X-Wing's systems and was forced to make a crash landing onto the surface of Geonosis. Wedge with the help of his astromech droid at the time R5 traversed the Geonosian landscape batling stormtroopers and battle droids alike before confronting a former rebel who defected to the Empire piloting a Republic Gunship on his own. Wedge reunited with Rogue Squadron when R5 and himself found a unused yet still flyable Jedi Starfighter where the squadron engaged with more escort carriers before leaving the system. Jacen noted to himself to ask Wedge if those rumors were true. Rebel Strike, right? I remember that level "Well kid, I'll give it straight to you. Jacen's eyes widened as he saw an Imperial Star Destroyer off in the distance, "Just perfect." he groaned. LOL I swear Jacen didn't get any of the Solo luck. "Just perfect." he groaned, "I'm all the way out here at Geonosis and I'm staring down a star destroyer, can it get any worse?" He then saw on the comm panel that was being hailed by the star destroyer, "It just got worse." as he sighed defeat and opened the channel with the star destroyer. Again, his luck sucks. "Red eyes? JEDI_MARAUDER-Yep you'll just have to wait and see on what will go on between Jacen and Ashlen Part 4-Yeah I was originally going to write this a lot later then now, but I got bit by the writer's bug so here it is. (Space over Felucia) Three lone X-Wings were flying reconassiance in search of reports of a vicious pirate group that had attacked the Hapes Consortium, doing considerate amounts of damage to it. According to information Tenel Ka had passed to the Galactic Alliance that the group that attacked the consortium had fled to the Felucia system and Chief Of State Cal Omas passed for an invesitgation and capture of the group. "I got nothing on scanners commander." A Bothan pilot reported. "Copy that." A female human's voice replied. "Let's take another pass before returning to base." a male human's voice suggested. "Roger, one more pass around the planet and..." the female pilot started when her X-Wing shook and green lasers flew past her," I've lost my stabilizer..." She didn't finish her sentence as flames engulfed around as her X-Wing blew up. "Where are they?" The Bothan asked as his X-Wing shook from laser blasts. "I see em, TIE Defenders." The male human replied as he saw three TIE Defenders approaching straight at them from the front while it was unknown on how many were behind the two X-Wings, he targeted one of the TIEs and released a volley of shots from his X-Wing as one of the TIEs blew up. "Help me out here." The bothan panicked as he was chased by a TIE Defender. It didn't take long for the TIE pilot to get the X-Wing in his striking range on the targeting computer and he pressed the trigger which sent green lasers tearing through the Bothan's X-Wing making it nothing more then floating ball off debris. "Sithspit." The male pilot swerved to avoid a more shots from a TIE taking a direct run on him. He stood no chance against the TIEs when the odds were against him. He was about to make the jump to lightspeed to escape from the TIEs when his eyes widened as he saw three proton torpedos from coming at him from the front while two more were coming at him from behind. The heat of flames overtook him in the flash of his eyes... ------------------------- (Mon Calamari, Galactic Alliance Base) Twins Suns had returned from their mission which had been rather uneventful as they were sent to aid the Hapans against the pirate group, but the time they already got there the pirates had fled, as to Tenel Ka's reports to Felucia. Wedge Antilles not wanting to send them straight off again allowed the squadron a week's leave from active duty. Jaina Solo jumped out of her X-Wing and ran to greet her parents, aunt, and uncle. But there was one thing that was missing; no Jacen. "Mom, dad where's Jacen?" she asked then her eyebrows raised with concern when her family gave each other looks of concern. Kyp Durron and Jagged Fel had both exited their craft and went to meet up with Jaina, but stopped when they saw her talkign to her family. Leia had an uncertain look on her face before looking at Jaina directly. "Your brother left dear, he left no notice or message of where he was going or why." Leia started. "According to air control, Jacen stole an X-Wing and flew offplanet without clearence." Luke, her uncle added in. Jaina's immediative reaction was to try to feel for Jacen through their bond and instantly found nothing. It wasn't like him to close off their bond so randomly, he did so when he was held prisoner by the Vong so she wouldn't feel the pain and torture he went through. But to do it now and not give a reason was really getting on her nerves. "I'm sure he's fine, I mean he's a Solo." Han patted Jaina's shoulder. "Thats what scares me." Jaina admitted,"Solos are known for their recklessness.". Later that day she had rested in her quarters when someone knocked on her quarters. With a grunt she got off her bed and walked towards the door and opened it and came face to face with Kyp Durron. "Hey I was passing by and thought you were hungry." Kyp was holding a platter of food. "Not now Durron." She grunted as she made to press the switch to shut the door in Kyp's face, but the Jedi Master was faster and already moved into Jaina's quarters. "Come on, even a Goddess has to eat sometimes." Kyp layed the tray on a nearby table and sat down next to Jaina on her bed,"What's wrong?" Course from seeing the look on her face, he could tell, "Its Jacen, isn't it?" "I just don't know, what was he thinking running off like that? He's my twin brother for Force's sake we tell each other everything." She let out which got a smirk from Kyp and annoyed look from Jaina. "Like you father said, I'm sure he's fine Goddess." Kyp said to which Jaina sat closer to Kyp and rested her head on his shoulder,"You'll see he'll be back before you even know it." Jaina didn't say anything as the two sat in silence. ------------------------------- (Star Destroyer Renegade) "Tell me, have you ever heard of a man called Rizlem Slag?" Col Serra asked Jacen. "Don't believe I have." Jacen admitted. "I thought so." Col sighed. "Who is he?" Jacen asked. "He was my second in command in Renegade Squadron during the days of the Empire. Rizlem was one of the finest soldiers I ever worked along with, discliplined, never questioned orders, a perfect soldier in my opinion. I swore he had the Force on his side as he was able to sense things before they happened, he could will the shots from his blaster to hit his targets. It was all fine until he went rogue on us." Col explained as Jacen listened intently,"After Endor, we parted ways on the worst of terms. Rizlem demanded a lot more then he could chew from the Alliance for Renegade Squadron's efforts during the war. He thought we were treated unfairly and while that may have been true, none of us outlaws weren't looking for the fame and heroism most others in the Alliance got. Jealously must of gotten the better of Rizlem as he felt his efforts were unrewarded and I got into a confrontation with him explaining when I had him join the squadron to not expect the medals most war heroes get. What came over him I never knew. One day he just got up and disappeared." Col closed his eyes and he had a look of regret on his face. "Whatever happened to him?" Jacen asked. "No one in the Alliance knows, hell no one would know of the exploits of Renegade Squadron if it weren't for the quest for knowledge by a Jedi archivist. But I have heard of the vicious pirate attacks and I believe he may be behind them." Col continued. "What makes you say that?" Jacen asked to which Col grabbed a patch out of his coat pocket and tossed on the table for Jacen to see. "Thats the symbol he always wore on his flightsuit." Col said, on the picture was an image of an inverted Rebel Alliance symbol with a letter S behind it,"I know its his because my men have engaged the pirates sometimes and the fighters they use which are TIE Defenders. His symbol is emblazened on those TIEs. Jacen grimaced, so what the Galactic Alliance had been dealing with lately was a former Rebel Alliance soldier gone rogue, led a powerful vicious pirate group, and could possibly be Force sensivitve. Not a good outcome in Jacen's opinion. "So our job is to?" Jacen began. "To find and stop Rizlem Slag before he gets to out of control. The Galactic Alliance will be to busy with their politics before discussing of a notion of starting a war with a band of pirates that could easily cripple the government. Thats where we come in, no rules to follow by, no government to listen to. We are the only ones who can do it since we have the freedom to do so." Col stood up as Jacen did the same, "I'm expecting you're tired from your trip. Don't worry I always let my soldiers rest when they really need it." Jacen then turned to leave when a cough from Col caused the Jedi to turn back to Col who extended his hand. "Welcome to Renegade Squadron." ---------------------------------- So yeah I was thinking this up the whole night and now I got it down in writte format. Don't worry next post, I'll try and have Jacen definitely in action to show Col what he can do. 	TIE Defenders are friggin sweet. Although the fact that they are on the wrong side of the war poses a big problem. I'm sure we are in for some interesting space battles now though, normal TIEs versus X-Wings and the like just isn't fair. I think it is cool that this renegade pirate is force sensitive as well. It poses a greater challenge for the protagonists and that makes a story more interesting, in my opinion anyway. I'm curious to find out just how in tune with the force this guy is as well. The storyline for Jaina may be something to look forward to as well. Hopefully she doesn't get too bent out of shape over Jacen leaving so suddenly, though I have a feeling she will cause at least a little drama over it. I'm also interested in finding out if she is with Kyp or Jag or neither. It seems like it might be Kyp based on that last post, but maybe that was just him being concerned for Jaina.
