	Prologue Captain Weston Mahone opened his eyes to the sound of his chrono beeping on his wrist. He quickly pushed back the covers of his small bunk and hurridly got up and put on his boots. He had slept in his uniform. He walked out of his room and towards the turbolift that would take him to the bridge. "How was your sleep, sir?" asked Lt. Rolt Matheson, Weston's personal assistant. Weston and Rolt had been friends since they had trained together at his uncle's academy. "It was fine, Ro. Is the generel ready?" "Yes, he's decided he would rather meet you at the docking bay instead of the bridge." replied Matheson. "Good. The generel's been yearning for some action. He's about to get some, don't you think, Ro?" "Yes sir." replied Matheson with a small smile on his face. They stepped into the turbolift that would take them to Docking Bay 492. The generel had been sent on a rescue mission, but Weston, Rolt, and 138 selected others were here for a very different purpose. The turbolift's doors opened onto a docking that was deserted except for two shuttles. Weston and Matheson walked towards Generel Alis Pufro, commander of the Victory-class Star Destroyer Discoveries. "Ah, Captain Mahone, how was your sleep?" asked the Generel Pufro. "Very good, sir." replied Mahone. "Good. Well, I suppose we should go and see if there are any survivors of the crash. Why the senator would send a Star Destroyer for a mission like this is beyond me." Weston knew exactly why a Star Destroyer was assigned to this little mission. His father was a very good friend of the senators'. "Men, lets make this a quick assignment. I'm sure there are better things we could be doing right now." Generel Pufro walked into his shuttle. Weston and Matheson got into their own shuttle. Generel Pufro had seven men accompanying him. Weston and Matheson had two people coming wih them. The shuttles launched out of the docking bay, sheets of ions trailing behind them. Weston and Matheson sat behind the two men who were piloting the shuttle. Their true mission would begin shortly. Weston glanced at his chrono and saw that it was time to begin. He nodded to Matheson and they both pulled out blasters and pointed them at the seats occupied by the pilots. They fired their weapons into the pilots back. They quickly got the pilots's bodies and threw them behind the piloting seats. Weston and Matheson quickly got into the pilots's seats. Weston pulled out his comm and said one word. "Fire!" Weston and Matheson saw two flashes of green come from nowhere and hit the shuttle that had Generel Pufro and his companions on board. The shuttle blasted into flames for a few seconds, then it was just black space. "Is the rest of the crew dead?" asked Weston into his comm. "Yes." replied Lt. Ajar Mead. "Okay, lower the cloaking devices for five seconds. That will be the signal that we've arrived." "Yes sir." replied Lt. Mead. For five moments on a late fall day, if someone had been looking directly at the sun, they would have seen a strange sight. They would've seen a triangular mass blocking the sun's rays. I read the last seven to get myself all recharged Weston pulled out his comm and said one word. "Fire!" Weston and Matheson saw two flashes of green come from nowhere and hit the shuttle that had Generel Pufro and his companions on board. The shuttle blasted into flames for a few seconds, then it was just black space. "Is the rest of the crew dead?" asked Weston into his comm. "Yes." replied Lt. Ajar Mead. "Okay, lower the cloaking devices for five seconds. That will be the signal that we've arrived." "Yes sir." replied Lt. Mead. Wow, awesome So we have our very freighter folk, only on a star destroyer... Star-destroies? Great post, Corran Weston and Matheson sound like bad dudes. I wonder who Weston's uncle is I'm more worried about their mission to the Island though I'm sure it will involve killing everyone. Are they after Jacob, maybe? Post more soon. 	I'm not going to give anything away for fear of spoiling the story. All I'l say is that if you read the first story very carefully, its right there. Weston is the one to watch here. He is vastly important to this story. Good theory that they're after Jacob. A change in format for this story: every other chapter will be a flashback of some kind. 	Chapter 1 Charlie Pace walked thorugh a set of glass doors to enter Oceanic International Airport. He had purchased his ticket the day before after Liam Pace, his brother, had rejected his proposal to restart Drive Shaft. His anger was reaching a boiling point and he really needed a fix. As he walked towards the escalator that would take him to his plane, he saw a commotion at the front counter. A man was yelling at an Oceanic employee behind the customer service area. Charlie thought nothing of it. As he reached the top of the elevator, he really began to worry. He needed a fix very badly. "Charlie Pace?" Charlie turned around to see a man in a suit. "Are you the Charlie Pace of DriveShaft?"asked the man. Charlie smiled and said, "Yeah, I'm that Charlie Pace." "Well, I'm a huge DriveShaft fan. I was wondering if I could have an autograph." The man produced a black marker and an album that read DRIVESHAFT in large letters. "Sure you can." Charlie wrote his name in big, black letters. "Thanks a lot. Could you do me a favor, as well? It's a big one." "And what would that be?" asked Charlie. "I think we should sit down before I tell you." said the man with a smile on his face. A thought crossed Charlie's mind. This is a cop. He stared at the man as they sat down on a nearby bench. He was slightly short for his age, and he had jet black hair. But what relly stood out to Charlie were his large eyes. "Don't worry, Charlie, I'm not here to arrest you. Quite the contrary , in fact." he smiled devilishly at that. "Charlie, I don't have much time to explain. The plane you are getting ready to board, Flight 815, is going to crash land on an island in the South Pacific Ocean. You are going to survive the crash, Charlie, because your name was on a list given to me by my boss. After you crash on this island, you will be contacted either me or one of my operatives. They will give you further instructions on what you supposed to do. Basically, Charlie, I want you to act as a sort of mole within the camp of survivors." Charlie just stared at him, postitive he was very high. "Are you bloody crazy?" asked Charlie. "Right now you'll think I am, then the plane will crash and everything will happen as I have said." "Even if I were to believe you, why would I do as you say?" "Because I have exactly what you want." He pulled out of his pocket two baggies filled with a powdery substance. Charlie grabbed the baggies without actually thinking. He turned from the man and started to walk away. "Charlie, they'll be more where that came from if you doas I say."said the man before Charlie was too far away. Charlie continued to walk towards his departure gate, but he heard the man say one last thing: "Thanks for the autograph!" 	Sorry I'm late! Charlie Pace I was wondering when we'd see "the traitor" from the last post of Disturbances As he walked towards the escalator that would take him to his plane, he saw a commotion at the front counter. I love Ben's off-beat lines like "Got any milk?" or "See you guys at dinner." That was perfect Great post, corran I really love the introduction of flashbacks in this. 	Most of the next few flashbacks will be Charlie-centric. 	Chpater 2 Sawyer ran towards Ben, not even looking at the body lying on the ground. He tackled him to the ground and repeatedly punched him in the face. He didn't stop until a pair of hands dragged him away from Ben. "Let go of me! I'm gonna kill that bug-eyed freak for what he's done." He jerked away from the hands grasping him and saw Benjamin Linus's gun on the ground next to his foot. He picked it up and took aim at Ben's head. "No, Sawyer, don't!" Sawyer looked behind Ben and saw Jack and a girl he'd never seen come out of the jungle and into the clearing. Jack stepped in front of Ben. "Get out of the way, Doc, or I'll shoot you where you stand!" he yelled vigourously. "Sawyer, if we take him hostage, the Others are going to want him back and we can exchange him for Kate." Sawyer thought this over for a second and reluctantly dropped Ben's gun. "You did the right thing." said Jack. "That has yet to be seen." said Sawyer glulmly. He turned and saw the body of the person who had been shot by Ben. He couldn't help but feel a little guilty. After all, if he hadn't have taken the woman hostage he wouldn't have been in this situation. He saw that the bullet had pierced the man's head. Blood was slowly pouring out of the man's head. Sawyer put his hand on the man's neck to feel for a pulse. He barely felt Desmond Hume's pulse against his fingers. Sayid Jarrah was praying for the soul of Jin Soo Kwon. It had all happened so quickly. One of his companions was dead. He hadn't felt such loss since Shannon had passed on to the other world. He would not let his grief overcome him. He slowly got up off the ground and went to his new prisoner. He had gagged and tied up the blonde woman sitting before him. He pulled out the gag. He would now ask her a few questions. He stared her in the eye menaceingly. She stared him back without flinching. He began his interogation. "What is yor name?" "Juliet Burke," "Why did you and your people come to our camp?" "We came to take Sun, Claire, and Aaron." "Ms.Burke, do you realize that Sun's husband has sacrificed himself for her proection." "Do you realize, Sayid, that one of your people killed the man I loved?" "And who was that?" "His name was Goodwin Standhope. The person who killed him was Ana Lucia Cortez. I guess we share something in common." Sayid slapped her across the face. He had a blind rage in his eyes. "Just one more question. Where do your people live?" "If I told you that, I wouldn't have any more use and you would probably kill me. So, here's the deal. I'll take you to the village where my people live. You can do with them as you wish. But the best part of the deal is that I can get your people off of this island." Richard Alpert was sitting in a rocking chair in his father's cabin. He had no expression on his face, as it always was when he was in deep thought. He had gone straight from the beach to the cabin without stopping after he had recieved the casualty list from Bea and Isabel. "Well Richard, who has died?" asked Jacob anxiously. "Ryan, Tom, and Keith are all dead. Colleen and Danny Picket are in critical condition, not sure if they're going to make it. Mikhail is missing, there's been no word from him. Beth got Sun, she's being transported to the Hydra, Josh got Claire and they're going to the Pearl. Ben and Juliet have also gone missing, we don't know where they are. The rest of them have gone back to the Barracks. The mission wasn't a complete success, we didn't get Aaron, but 2 out of 3 is pretty good." Jacob was looking at Richaed intently. The losses were all acceptable, except of course for Mikhail and Benjamin. They were vastly important, and he hoped they we're not in any harm. "Richard, I want you to tell Beth and Josh to begin turning Claire and Sun. I would rather they let us experiment on them willingly. As I guess you saw, Weston has arrived. It seems that everything is going as planned. Weston should be here in the next few days. Is the runway ready?" "Yes, everything is ready for Weston. I'll take him to you as soon as he lands." Also, anytime Sawyer can beat the bejesus out of Ben, I'm happy He turned and saw the body of the person who had been shot by Ben. He couldn't help but feel a little guilty. Really makes me wonder about Jacob Also, by "turning Sun and Claire," is it possible the enigmatic Mr. Jacob means "to the Dark Side"? We already have quite a Sith Lord parallels here. 	Desmond getting shot in the head is going to be an important event. Juliet is going to have an interesting part to play in this story, but that's all I'm saying. Jacob means turning in more of the way Ben said it to Jack in the Hydra at the beginning of Season 3. He means to the Other's side. 	Chapter 3 Charlie Pace was dead. The billions of fans of had watched Charlie play his gutiar in larger the life auditoriums mourned his loss greatly. Those billions of people had loved Charlie loved Charlie with a passion rarely seen, a passion that was almost religous. His brother Liam had taken it the hardest. Shortly after the events of Charlie's death, Liam had gone into his room and blew a hole through his head. It killed him instantly. Those loyal Driveshaft fans had even more to mourn now. And why did all these events occur? Because Charlie Pace was looked upon as a rock god. People treated like he was one. But what is Charlie Pace really like? He is a coward, a cheat, a traitor, a junkie. He would save himself over anyone else. Kill people for his own benefit. This man is not a god. He is a demon. He wasn't always like this. He used to be a kind and heroic man, one who helped anyone he could. He saved a woman's life while no else even looked at her being robbed. But then Charlie found something that changed him. It changed his thought patterns, changed his conscience. He was no longer the Charlie Pace he had used to be. There was another factor that shaped the Charlie Pace of the present. This factor was named Benjamin Linus. Benjamin is a clever man who can manipulate almost anyone he wants. He used this special power on Charlie on a sunny day in September, 2004. He made Charlie into a snitch by bribeing him with drugs, and Charlie was too weak to stop him. And now, for all intents and purposes, Charlie Pace is dead even to himself. "Charlie, wake up," Charlie awoke from his sleep with a start. The woman across from him covered his mouth with her hand. When she saw he was calm, she removed her hand from his face. "Who are you, were you on the plane?" asked Charlie. "No, Charlie, I wasn't. I'm one of the people who works for the man who you met the day of the crash." Charlie had been thinking about that man since the crash. How he had predicted this unpredictible event was beyond Charlie. Maybe it had been a lucky guess. "What are you doing here?" "I've come to hear what's going on in your camp." "Give me the drugs. I know you have them, because I can tell that yuo know I won't give up information without payment." She handed him four small baggies. He put them in his pocket. "Well, I've got chased by a monster, one of the passengers died from a wound, another one drowned yesterday. Jack, our doctor, has found some caves and wants to take us there. I'm going with him." reported Charlie. "Thank you. I'll leave, but I'll be back." "Just one question. Couldn't you have slipped a man in undetected into the camp?" "We've done that. It's always good to have another point of view. By the way, my name's Bea."
