I hope no one will accuse me of mass posting on boards.
Very nice talk between Jag and Soontir, but I swear Daala better keep her hands away from Jag!!! Unless she wants to lose them from lightsaber cut

Jag4Me posted: Wow...am I first??
That you were.
Jag4Me posted: Happy Anniversary to Kick's parents - 40 years amazing!
Yeah, married forty-two and dated for two.
Their old.
Jag4Me posted: Kick, this is even better than I imagined. You are given Soontir and Jag the pages their characters
truly deserve.
Thanks Connie. I so love both characters and hopefully they'll soon get their just due in canon.
Jag4Me posted:
Jag4Me posted: [quote=THE_PIED_PIPER]
Jag looked over to his father then, as always amazed at his strategic mind and analysis abilities. “If my post is made permanent that will be a top priority. ”
His father chuckled, “You mean when your post is made permanent. I’ve spoken to Daala; she’ll do what she has to.”
Jag raised his eyebrow with a wry look on his face. “What did you offer in return?”
“Don’t worry Jagged, I didn’t offer her what she really wants. You are to be married after all.”
Jag snorted. “As long as that’s understood.” Do you think Jag gets his sense of humor from Soontir? This is damned hysterical!!
Or...maybe Soontir was serious??
Yes I do think Jag gets his sense of humor from Soontir.
And I hope 'Tir wasn't serious.
Jag4Me posted: [quote=THE_PIED_PIPER]
“Oh, I don’t know Jagged. The old rancor still looks pretty damn good and you’re not married…yet.”
“Not interested,” came the flat reply.
ack!! No he is not interested! EWWEE!
Definaety not!
Jag4Me posted: [quote=THE_PIED_PIPER]
"No thanks needed for telling the truth, son." he said and continued. "Now what of the Veila woman. When will she be extradited?"
Jagged took a deep breath. He had known this question would come and he was prepared for the hell his answer would soon bring down on him. He hoped that he could make his father quickly see that his decision had been the correct one. "She will not be extradited to Imperial courts Sir, I've signed a waiver."
"Daala is going to execute her herself then," Soontir shrugged. “The result is the same.”
“She has been pardoned Sir.” Jag quickly blurted out while his resolve was strong, “and I have agreed.”
As put out as I am by Tahiri's character right now this was just the thing to do. Did I mention what
good work you do?
Yeah I'm not happy about Tahiri right now either. But she'll play big in Fly Well.
Jag4Me posted: [quote=THE_PIED_PIPER]
“I realize that Sir, but it’s irrelevant to the moral point. Plus, what am I to do? Alienate Luke Skywalker by executing one his Knights, that wouldn’t be particularly responsible right now. Not to mention the position it would put me in with the Solos…'Hello, I’m your new son-in-law and I’m going to execute Anakin’s girlfriend now'.”
The anger on Soontir’s face became three-fold. “You are allowing your personal responsibilities to cloud your judgment!”
“And your allowing vengeance to cloud yours,” Jag said as he prepared for all the possible reactions that his father could give him and the thought of most of them broke his heart.
Powerful father son stuff! You are nailing my idea of Soontir and Jag's characters.
Thanks Connie. That was the purpose of this chapter.
Jag4Me posted: [quote=THE_PIED_PIPER]
Baron Fel stood stoic and unmoving as if his ears had malfunctioned and he had not heard or understood what his sons answer had been. Finally he recovered enough to add in the voice that Jag remembered as the ‘pre-ass whipping’ voice. “So to be clear, Gilad Pellaeon’s murderer is to be ‘rehabilitated’ by the man who obliterated Carida? Is what my son is telling me?”
I LOVE the pre-ass whipping voice! Priceless!
Yeah, I can definately see Baron Fel whipping some behind. [face_oouch!]
Jag4Me posted: [quote=THE_PIED_PIPER]
“Oh yes,” Soontir added flatly. “Forever indebted because Solo got him off after he committed genocide. That makes me feel a lot better about the situation Jagged.”
This makes me want to wail "just leave Kyp alone!!" like the you tube video of the Britney guy...
"Leave Kyp alone!
But you have to see it from Soontir Fels POV and how that particualar character would react to Kyp Durron rehabilitating his best friends murderer.
I think he'd be upset.
Jag much less so because he is from a younger generation and actually knows the two people involved.
Jag4Me posted: [quote=THE_PIED_PIPER]
Continuing to shake his head Soontir Fel found himself baffled for the first time in many years. “Why do you want leverage over her Jagged? What is it Tahiri Veila has that you want? She’s an orphan with no political clout and now a disgraced Jedi Knight with an extremely tarnished reputation. Do I need to tell you the rumors that fly around the nature of her relationship with Darth Caedus?”
“I don’t care about gossip Father, whether it true or not. Tahiri Veila could be useful to me on a personal level and that is what I care about.”
“Jagged,” Soontir said softly, which a few moments before hand Jag wouldn’t have thought possible. “I hardly see Jaina as the type of woman who would tolerate such things.”
EWEE!!
*nods*
Jag4Me posted: [quote=THE_PIED_PIPER]
"That is grotesque, and I assure you not what I meant. You know of my promise to Daala to appoint more female Moffs."
Soontir nodded and Jag slowly continued. "Father, you know what a pit of vipers they are, I'm sure their already planning to usurp me as soon as Luke's back is turned and he's dealing with his next crisis."
"Jagged what do the Moff's have to do with Tahiri Veila?"
Jag shrugged as if his next words wouldn't cause Mustafaric volcano's to erupt from his father, "I'm going to appoint her as a Moff."
*falls off chair* Didn't see that coming....
Hah! Mission accomplished.
Jag4Me posted: [quote=THE_PIED_PIPER]
"I don't like it Jagged. It would be built on duplicity." Exasperation overtaking him Soontir asked his son, “I must say this is just sheer brilliance Jagged. What would Thrawn say to you?”
Jagged grinned, “Shine my boots and kiss my…art?”
ROFL!! Brilliant Kick!
One of my little Kick-isms, with a little help from Lex.
The original line was going to be, "Shine my boots and dust my art." But Lex was like...'nah, it's shine my boots and kiss my art.
Jag4Me posted: [quote=THE_PIED_PIPER]
Soontir snorted, “and what idiot says my son has no personality.”
No one should say that because he is Jag!
Yeah.
Jag4Me posted: [quote=THE_PIED_PIPER]
Jagged closed his eyes and continued to rub his temples but nothing seemed to ease the pain in his head these days other than being with Jaina and having her perform one of her Force fueled massages. "No, I didn't object but I probably should have."
I'm pretty sure more details on these Force fueles massages will be needed....
Yeah, I think so to.
Jag4Me posted: [quote=THE_PIED_PIPER]
"I don't know what I'm having...I just don't know anymore. I want victory without war. That’s what I want."
Brilliant job of typing it all up with a nice neat bow.
*bows* Thank you My Dear.
I do try.
There is reason behind my madness.
Jag4Me posted: [quote=THE_PIED_PIPER]
"Son you've been through a lot, as has Jaina. Now the galaxy is at peace and you're to finally be married. The two of you just need some much deserved privacy and time together. When we leave tomorrow why don't you take the Starflare for the honeymoon?
Jagged grinned, the pain in his head easing ever so slightly. "There will be no need to take the Starflare. The Solo's have made a gift of the Love Commander to Jaina and me for a wedding present."
Soontir chuckled. "That’s a nice ride, but you will rename it I assume?"
"Of course," came Jaggeds typical crisp reply. "My Betrothed has chosen The MaraSyal."
Love this - love that Soontir likes Jaina so much too. Thank the stars they are changing the name on that ship!!
Yeah, I can't see Jag flying a ship called Love Commander
Jag4Me posted: [quote=THE_PIED_PIPER]
As a rule Chiss didn't feel anger but Soontir knew that at times it had taken a toll Jag and he had became frustrated if not angry. The incident towards the end of the Yuuzhan Vong War, when he and Jaina had been granted a rare two day leave and had been photographed on a beach with less than swimming attire on had nearly exhausted his extensive fuse.
Jaina had thought it funny. A reporter had quoted
A perfect example of why they are so good together. This is so much fun Kick!!
Awe thank you Connie! I'm so glad that you enjoy it!

I’d like you to take the position of Supreme Commander of Imperial Forces Sir. I believe the position should be separate from the Moff Council at least for now.”
Soontir was speechless, “They Moffs will never accept that Jagged. They’ll say it’s a conflict of interest given your position.”
“Quite contraire father they have already agreed to it. “ Jagged grinned, “they really don’t want to test Skywalker and are not openly giving me any problems even if they are privately scheming to get rid of me.”
Well you know they are.
Jag4Me posted: What a great chapter Kick! I love the comment about "prying apart" Wyn and Valin too!
Wow.
Will there be some wedding planning soon?
Jag and Jaina or Valin and Wyn.
We'll see about the wedding next post.
Thanks for the great reply My Dear.
And I'm sorry that this got axed lastnight, I really don't know what happened. But it's pretty close to what my original reply was.
jadesabre75 posted: Sorry I didn't respond earlier. I read it pretty quick, but I had to go and watch Bones first.
Uh, no you just didn't apologize. What is it you tell me about having a life.
jadesabre75 posted: [quote=THE_PIED_PIPER]
The Moffs had been given the choice of Jag’s leadership or the wrath of Queen Mother Tenel Ka for trying to kill her and her daughter. The Moffs had quickly and unanimously chosen Jag. Um...not sure if that was the better deal. I know Tenel is fierce but Jag can make their lives hell.
*nods* Yeah, Jag and the Moffs are not going to get along.
jadesabre75 posted: His father chuckled, “You mean when your post is made permanent. I’ve spoken to Daala; she’ll do what she has to.”

“Don’t worry Jagged, I didn’t offer her what she really wants. You are to be married after all.” Why am I not surprised Daala would be a cougar. Funny.
Because she is? Daala has the hots for Grand Moff Fel
And she won't be the only one.
jadesabre75 posted: Jag snorted. “As long as that’s understood.”

Wow. The conversation with Jag and his dad...I was laughing at how worked up he was getting Soontir. Pretty freaking funny!
Yeah Baron Fel has had better days.
jadesabre75 posted: Moff Fel closed his eyes and turned his head away unable to take the look of betrayal that would overcome Soontir’s face as he replied. “Kyp…Durron.”

“That is correct Sir.”
“Whose dumbass hare-brained idea was that?! Skywalker? He’s the only person in the galaxy naive enough to actually think…” PMSL! Wow. That was just...
Glad you liked it. It sounds like Seans dad going off on Sean or his brothers.
jadesabre75 posted: "I don't like it Jagged. It would be built on duplicity." Exasperation overtaking him Soontir asked his son, “I must say this is just sheer brilliance Jagged. What would Thrawn say to you?”

jadesabre75 posted: After along moment of watching his father lost in thought, Jagged finally spoke. "I too wish it was Davin standing here and breathing air instead of me Sir. He would have been much more suited to this."
The words stung Soontir more than Jag would ever know. He loved all his children the same as any good parent did. Davin had been more 'his' child. They had had more in common and had connected on more levels, and he knew that he would never really recover from that boy’s death.
However, he would never wish to trade Jaggeds life for Davins and knew what Davin would have said to the mere thought of it. His eyes narrowed, "Don't you ever say that again Jagged...ever."
I know.
jadesabre75 posted: "You mean you've pried Wyn away from Knight Horn." I bet that was painful.
Yeah.
jadesabre75 posted: Soontir rolled his eyes. "No he'll be there as well. I wouldn't want either of them to go into irreversible withdrawal after all." LOL Man, Soontir is kicking it with the jokes.
He's kicking it with jokes because Kick is writing him?
jadesabre75 posted: “Yes Sir. I’m in a bit of a predicament. As I’m sure you know Darth Caedus was an idiot…as a military strategist he was completely incompetent.”
Jags father shrugged, “why are you telling me what I already know.”
“Imperial fleets are in horrific disarray Sir, and I’m a mere Colonel and not quite sure I have the knowledge to get them back where they need to be. I’d like you to take the position of Supreme Commander of Imperial Forces Sir. I believe the position should be separate from the Moff Council at least for now.”

“You’re mother will not be pleased. We’re supposed to be retired and traveling you know?”
“Yes I know father, but I need you.”
Baron Fel nodded, “I’d be happy to. However we will discuss politics later, we have an engagement party to prepare for. ”
LOVED IT! Of course Tir would be the best for the job!
Yes he is.

Yeah, that sort of creeps me out. I just don't see him saying that no matter the context.
Other than that, awesome post!
*laughs* You don't see Soontir as an 'awe' type guy huh?
I'll keep that in mind.
princess_of_naboo posted: Ah, those scheming Fels.
They'll be around for a while...no doubt.
Thank you for reading Princess and for your reply.
carr3107 posted: Lots of positive things to say, although I am dying to know how you envisioned it before Invincible came out.
Well, I didn't really. I kept it vague in my mind because I wanted to see what Troy was going to do. But I went ahead with the pregnancy, miscarriage, Jags reaction and Jaina's Falcon rescue because I knew I would keep all that regardless because it's what I wanted to accomplish in this 'fic. The rest of it I left vague and somewhat open to interpretation.
Thanks for reading and the reply carr!
Ultima_1 posted: You can definitely tell that they're related.
Jag and Soontir? Oh yeah. Canon is pretty specific that Jag heavily favors his father.
Ultima_1 posted: Tahiri going undercover on the Moff Council is interesting, as is her being under Kyp's supervision.
Tahiri will be instrumental later on. I'm foaming at the mouth to write the Jag/Tahiri scenes.
I chose Durron because of his Kun experience, the whole being influenced by a Sith Lord. I think that he could really offer Tahiri a perspective that no one else could. How to deal with her guilt over what she did, and use that in a positive way.
That and I see Durron as the type of guy that would never look down on her or anyone else for that matter.
And he is a very formidable Jedi Master as well.
But yeah...Corran would have been an excellent choice also and he knows Tahiri well.
Ultima_1 posted: I probably would have had Corran be her mentor again, but there's a certain amount of sense in Kyp being in charge of her.
Awe, thank you. Master Durron is up next in the next chapter, we'll get his POV.
Ultima_1 posted: The Love Commander is good for their honeymoon (assuming they can't get a suite on the Errant Venture). I guess that means that Ben is getting the Jade Shadow?
Definately!
I certainly can't see it going anywhere else.
Thank you so much for reading and your thoughts Ultima, it means alot to me.

Jedimaster_JainaSolo posted: Their humor is very intriguing and I am very much enjoying this relationship they have. It is much better than the the harsh indifference that they are most often portrayed as having.
Yeah, I've always seen Jag and Soontir as having a very good relationship even though they often butt heads.
Jedimaster_JainaSolo posted: HA! the reference to Valin and Wyn was awesome! Will there be some scenes with them? That would be fun to read!
Oh, yeah. Valin and Wynssa will be up chapter after next. I'm going to make myself sit down and write that this weekend.

I know, but Jag cleared that up quickly. The way Jag spoke of needing Tahiri on a personal level I can see how 'Tir would think that though.
But things will get somewhat interesting between Jagged and Tahiri. I promise that Jag will never cheat on Jaina...or never even seriously consider it...but it will get interesting.
As it was interesting with Calixte and Roan.

Hey, I really like the male perspective.
1. Jarael
Awe, interesting choice PointGiven. I'm impressed.

Thats a given. She was number two on IrishKatarns list as well.
3. Jaina Solo
*nods* Good choice. Never hurts to have a Sword around. Particularly a beautiful one. Just ask Jag.
4. Visas Marr
*nods*
5. Marasiah Fel

“I think we should just sit back and wait for now. The Moff’s hands are tied and they know it. Their duplicitous allegiance to Darth Caedus has landed them right in Luke Skywalker’s sights for the foreseeable future. “ Soontir snorted. “Let Skywalker and his sister deal with them through you for now, irony wouldn’t you think?”
Ooh - Soontir. You evil man - delicious though.
“But you could not have foreseen Gilad being murdered
Boy - he's not the only one!!!
We don't want our actions to reveal what we do have in case another Jacen Solo should appear.
God forbid!!! LOL
I like old Daala.
Jag would never forget the look that crossed his father’s face in that moment. It was part rage, betrayal, disgust and utter astonishment. After the initial maelstrom faded from Soontir’s face his words came hard and cold. “May I ask why my son would pardon the murderer of one of my best friends?”
Jagged knew that this was going to be some of the most difficult words he had ever spoken but he knew he was right. “I’m not a hypocrite. If the Empire executes her for Gilad’s death, what’s to stop the Alliance for coming after Jaina and Luke for Darth Caedus’s death?”
“That’s different Jagged and you know it. Plus no one is happier to be rid of Caedus than Daala, I doubt she’ll seek any charges.”
“I realize that Sir, but it’s irrelevant to the moral point. Plus, what am I to do? Alienate Luke Skywalker by executing one his Knights, that wouldn’t be particularly responsible right now. Not to mention the position it would put me in with the Solos…'Hello, I’m your new son-in-law and I’m going to execute Anakin’s girlfriend'.”
Ooh - I like the points you raise here. It all gets very complicated in politics and families, eh?
“Father the girl was under the influence of a Sith Lord. The Empire was founded by a Sith Lord. How many atrocities were committed in our name? You always taught me that we need to change…we need to understand people and overcome the stigma. She deserves another chance.”
Wow - Jag is da man.
“So to be clear, Gilad Pellaeon’s murderer is to be ‘rehabilitated’ by the man who obliterated Carida? Is what my son is telling me?”
“That is correct Sir.”
“Whose dumbass hare-brained idea was that?! Skywalker? He’s the only person in the galaxy naive enough to actually think…”
Jag gathered his poise and calmly replied. “It was mine Sir.
Ooh - Jag was VERY brave fronting up about that.
"I'm going to appoint her as a Moff."
Crikey dick - I didn't see that coming. Wow.
"I don't like it Jagged. It would be built on duplicity." Exasperation overtaking him Soontir asked his son, “I must say this is just sheer brilliance Jagged. What would Thrawn say to you?”
Jagged grinned, “Shine my boots and kiss my…art?”
LOL One of the best lines I've read for ages.
A honeymoon on the Love Commander! Cool - even if it does have a new name.
He would never be able to say to Jagged how proud he was of him...of everything the young man had accomplished. If the truth be told there had been a time when he had greatly feared for his son, and not just the fear of sending him to face the Yuuzhan Vong invasion in what he had felt at the time was a certain death. What had really worried Soontir Fel was how raw and stubborn Jagged had been in his youth. He had been frowned upon more than once at the Academy for his unorthodox ways and tendency to challenge orders and go against the status quo.
Soontir had honestly believed that like Davin, Chak, and Cherith before him...Jagged Fel would not have lived to see thirty life days. His heart nearly burst with joy to know that he had been wrong.
The boy was scrappy.
The boy was a survivor.
You know, sometimes it's good to be someone who thinks outside the square. (Like Anakin.)
Soontir's to be Supreme Commander? Cool bananas.
Really enjoyed this post, Kick. You have a real knack for getting into these guys' heads, and I love all the machinations they get up to. Cracker post.
