How did I miss this?
Wow! I Really like it. Jag's rant about his son and Jaina's comeback that it was their son was excellent, well written and a reasonable reaction from both parties.
I really liked Han's statement that his only loyalties are to his daughter and Leia, because it rings so true of his character. Since the beggining his loyalty has been to Leia not the rebellion not the New Republic, the GA or any that will follow. They always got the benefit of Leia bringing Han along.
Excellent Chapter.

Well, I told you that your story makes me want to return to reading SW novels and read the Legacy of the Force Books. Today, I bought the first book: Betrayal. Now, I have nine books to catch up on. LOL

That was a really fantastic chapter - the best so far IMO. Your Han was spot on. I absolutely loved the scene between him and Jag.
She didn't know whether or not she would ever forgive her twin for becoming a Sith, and forcing the burden on her that he had.
A hard thing to forgive - that. You capture the complicated emotions that Jacen's fall has caused very well. It's the effect on other's psyches, as you say, that just goes on and on. It's a bit like the ripples after a suicide - and there's often no closure.
I'm angry at Jag for his treatment of Jaina.
Solo's eyes narrowed and Jag instantly regretted bringing up the subject, "No, thats not what this is about Mr. Smarty Armor. However, I would like an answer to what happened to Leia's Alderaanean dishes."
Thank goodness for Han and his humour.
"Yeah, well, for someone who is supposedley a 'non-person' you sure seem to have alot of contact with your father, Jag," Solo said, his typical sarcasam dripping from his mouth.
"I never said I had no contact with my father."
"No, you didn't, but you sure as hell alluded to it." Solo then wiped his brow with his hand, "Soontir and I have had some very ineresting conversations these last few days, he wouldn't say much over the channel but I get the gist," he grinned. "I'm much brighter than I look, you know." Solo continued, "He said to tell you that 'all is well that ends well and the fist is ready'."
Oh ho! Han is definitely no slug. And it looks like there are manipulations afoot. I can't wait to see Leia dealing to the Chiss. LOL I almost feel sorry for them - almost. ;D
That Jag boy had better go and apologise to poor Jaina - or else. [waves big stick]
Loved it, Kick - wonderful stuff.

Thanks ccp, I was really starting to worry about how Jag's reaction was going over. You have to remember this is the worse time of his life, and for the first time we see that inner wall crack.

Oh, I profoundly believe that.

LotF is quite good mrjob2, I don't think you'll be disapointed. Just remember to form your own opinions and keep an open mind.

Yes, but you have the advantage of not having to wait between releases like I had to.
You my friend, are the smart one. Thank you so much for reading

Han loves Jag. This is all. Thank you so much for your kind words.

Thank you, Master. Then it's settled.

Whew. I needed that to come through as believeable.

*nods* Deceit and betrayal are bitter fruit, and they're hard to swallow come time to pay..and the taste on your tongue doesn't easily slip away. And, I think more than anything else when someone takes the path that Jacen did, it's the Betrayal that hurts the most..cuts the deepest. And I thought it was very appropriate for LotF I to be named Betrayal.
Tahi posted: You capture the complicated emotions that Jacen's fall has caused very well. It's the effect on other's psyches, as you say, that just goes on and on. It's a bit like the ripples after a suicide - and there's often no closure.
Never any closure; it's a sad paradox of life.
Tahi posted: I'm angry at Jag for his treatment of Jaina.
I know. But, Fel will do the right thing. Jag's reaction were the result of years of heartbreak that he doesn't exactly know how to express that. Canon is very clear that he knows how to deal with it, and is the only person who can reach Jaina, but here in this situation he just.....lost it.

</Kick Note >
I have sent chapter IV to Beta. Rest assured the next two to three chapters will be somewhat more light-hearted in nature. After that, however, this 'fic is going to have to go on hiatus until the spoiler ban for Invincible is lifted, because I want to bring it back into compliance with canon.
However, don't fret. While this one is on break, I have another Fury missing moment that Tahi has done the beta for and it is ready to go, so be looking for that. Also, I'm working on a Exile missing moment that I think...will be rather interesting. But, I'm not the judge of that, my fabulous readers are.
Everyone have a safe and fantastic Saturday night.

</Kick Note> Happy Mothers Day to all the wonderful mothers out there: Tahi, Cyn, Chris, Connie and everyone else! May your children always bring you joy and peace. This one is a happy day for our heroes. A day of new destiny and...yes...a little love at first sight.
You're a fraction the man your father is."
"Funny. That's what I was going to say to you."
-Darth Caedus and Valin Horn, 40 aby
Chapter IV - This Moment
"This is going to be interesting," Leia said as she stood there in the beautiful late Hapan afternoon with the rest of the Galactic Alliance Welcome Delegation. The Delegation also included her brother Luke Skywalker, near life-long friends Wedge and Iella Antiles and Grand Admiral Niathal. And also there with the GA Delegation stood Jagged Fel.
The light breeze that tousled the graying dark hair that had been perfectly mounted on her head did nothing to sweep away her anxiety. She was nervous, this was a day that she thought she would have never seen.However, she had accepted the finality of it, and decided to move forward into the future. She only hoped this would proceed quickly because her grand daughter was due up from her nap.
"Stop being a negative nova, Princess," her husband whispered as he stood beside her, "Everything is going to be okay, trust me."
She looked up at him and gave him the "Organa Glare of Death".
He snorted, "What are you so worried about anyway, you're the one who negotiated peace with Pelleaon all those years ago. You're the last person that shoud be intimidated by Imperials.
"That was different," Leia said.
"How so?"
"I don't know, exactly."
Han smiled down to his wife, "It'll be fine."
She raised her eyebrow at him, finding another attack vector. "Did you know that Jag is basically running the Empire, Han?"
"Not unitl a couple of days ago." He shrugged. "Trust me Leia it will work out."
Leia inhaled sharply but said no more. She opened herself to the currents of the Force, surprisingly she felt nothing but peace. She brushed her brothers mind ever so gently and felt his calm reassurance sweep over her as he looked over and winked at her.
In a way, this was as special a day for the two of them as it was for anyone else. Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa-Solo would come face to face with Vader's fist.
The small Imperial shuttle came to rest on a landing pad a couple of hundred feet in front of them. After a few moments it powered down to basic systems and the boarding ramp lowered. Out of it's belly emerged two rows of Imperial Stormtroopers. Their white armor glistened brightly in the late afternoon sun, and they had their weapon's laid elegantly upon their right shoulders.
Once the last of their numer was at the the bottom of the boarding ramp they stopped and in perfect military form did an inward about face assuming the postion of parade ready.
"The 501st," Leia said softly. She would have known their legendery power, discipline and form anywhere. Some things just never changed. She looked over to her brother who caught her eye and gave a silent nod. She relaxed then, accepting the reality and finality of the moment and knowing that there was no better path for her daughter.
They continued to stand there after the stormtroopers had come to a halt waiting for the guests of honor. Then the first of them emerged.
He had definietely grown older, Luke Skywalker thought to himself, but he was still instantly recognizable as the legendary fighter pilot of his youth. His dark hair had receeded some and his face had aged if only a little and the eye patch over his eye only made him look more interesting and more distinguishing.
Soontir Fel.
Right beind him and immediately to his left was his wife Syal. Her long blonde hair and beautiful features had changed even less than her husbands over the years, Luke decided. And giving birth to six children had done nothing to diminish her figure either. Luke felt Wedge's joy explode in the Force as he watched his sister desend the ramp.
The two groups began to walk toward each other, in a moment that was certainly being recorded for galactic history. Finally the two parties met and Syal Fel ran into her sons arms. "Jagged. Oh, Jag," she smiled up at him, "how handsome you look."
Jagged Fel smiled down at her, giving her a kiss on the forehead, "Thank you Mother, I missed you." She squeezed him tightly for a moment and then moved to Wedge to give him the same treatment.
Jag looked at his father and nodded. "Hello, Father."
Soontir smiled at him and placed a hand on his shoulder, "Jagged." He then grinned, "The beard looks different in person, I think I actually kind of like it."
"Don't say that where Aunt Iella can hear it."
"I already did," Iella Antilles said with a smile on her face. "Hello Soontir. I told Jag what good is being the best looking man in the galaxy if you keep your face covered in hair."
The Baron laughed embracing his sister-in-law and then kissed her on both cheeks, "You look beautiful."
Soontir let Iella go to shake Wedge's hand and embraced him giving the slightly younger man a smile. He then turned to Grand Master Skywalker. "Luke, it's been a long time."
"Yes, it has Soontir," Skywalker said penseively.
As always, Luke's grief over Mara sang across their bond in the Force to Leia. The last time he had seen Soontir Fel were the days when he and Mara had became engaged. The grief that crossed his face would have been missed by everyone but those who knew him well and it certainly wasn't lost on his twin sister. She gave him a gentle brush of love through the Force and he quickly returned it.
Then Soontir Fel moved to stand in front of Grand Admiral Niathal. After a moment, she spoke. "Welcome to Hapes Baron Fel, I look forward to discussions and good faith talks with you."
Fel smiled, shook her hand and gave her a slight bow. "I'm honored to meet you Grand Admiral, but I'm an observer and advisor only. My son will speak for the Empire."
She looked as puzzled as a Mon Calamarian could look, Jag thought, as she quickly looked between father and son but said nothing more. She silently nodded, content to ask no futher questions for now.
"Well, I'm glad to see that you finally made it," came Han Solo's voice as he walked up to Soontir as Grand Admiral Niathal turned to leave and walk back with the rest.
"Aye, yes, Han..thank you and thank you for your hospitality." He then nodded to Leia who graciously shook his hand.
"Syal?"
"Yes," she replied as she walked over to her husband. Her beautiful face and easy grace still the same as they had been decades earlier when she had electrified the holonet with her mere presence.
"I think it's time we all get inside and eat something, I'm starved. I was so glad to here that the Queen Mother is throwing a ball in the next few days, I'm sure there will be plenty of good food there."
"Yes," Leia replied, "as soon as Jaina is able to attend."
Soontir nodded and bowed.
The party then all turned to leave except for Jagged and Soontir. "Well Father I guess we're waiting for the Beauty Extraordinare."
Soontir shook his head and chuckled, "We could be here a while Jagged, she's primping. But I wasn't going to hold everyone else up waiting on her."
"You could go ahead, I'll wait for her," Jagged said.
"No, I need a word with you anyway, son."
Jagged then turned and dismissed the Stormtroopers. All of which saluted him and marched back up the loading ramp of the shuttle except for one. That stormtrooper gave Jag a mock salute and made a somewhat sassy gesture towards him, and then proceeded up the ramp.
Jag and Soontir shot a look to each other and grinned. yeah, back at you Cem, we'll settle it later.
"I just wanted to say that I'm sorry about your baby Jag, I truly am. Is she recovered?"
"Not fully, no. More children are highly unlikely."
Soontir gave a sympathetic nod and asked, "I take it you apologized for your outburst? We do not yell at women in this family Jagged. You were raised much better than that."
Jag sighed. Apparently Leia had wasted no time in outing him to his father for his behavior towards Jaina. But he knew he deserved it. "I haven't seen her again, I've been pretty busy."
"Avoidance doesn't solve problems Jagged, you know that. You will make the time and shortly."
"Yes sir, I will."
Just then squeals of laughter sounded as Wynssa Fel bounded down the boarding ramp with tears in her eyes. She went straight into her brothers arms. Jag caught her without missing a beat and buried his face in her hair.
After a moment he pulled away and looked at her giving her a kiss on the forehead. As always she looked nearly identical to their mother. He embraced her again and whispered a joke to her in Chiss. That stopped the tears long enough for her to punch him. She enveloped him again.
"Jag."
"Wyn."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"This has got to be the most boring thing that I've ever had to do. When can we leave Dad?" Jysella Horn's voice was inpatient as she fidgeted with her lightsaber and pulled stray locks of brown hair that the wind had freed from her bun out of her eyes.
"Jys, act like a Jedi Knight and be tranquill for once, please," her fathers voice rang back.
"Yes, Sir." She let out a sigh and looked over to her older brother Valin who was busy chating with Ben Skywalker.
Masters Katarn and Durron also stood with them watching the Imperial's land, and the seemingly never ending parade of pomp and circumstance unfold before them. The six of them stood off to the side from the offical delegation. In theory they were honorary attendee's from the Jedi Order. In reality they were back-up in case any malcontent or lunatic got any ideas with all the big brass around. That did not need to happen under any circumstances.
"Would you get a load of that," Kyp Durron said as a low whistle escaped his mouth. "She looks just like her mother did in my dreams as a kid. And I'm not kriffing around."
"Why Kyp," Corran said rather derisively, "Isn't she a little old for you? I thought your dating pool bracket was eighteen to twenty-five."
Durron grinned, "That's not what Mirax says Corran...that's not what Mirax says."
"That's not funny anymore Kyp."
"Oh, I assure you it is."
At that point Master Katarn had had enough and turned around with a scolding look on his face, "Will you two ever grow up? Because I've listened to you for far too many years. I swear Horn, your kids are more mature than you and Durron."
Corran looked offended, "But Kyle, we love you. Sat by your sick bed, day and night while you recovered from the hole of all holes in the chest.
"Thats right," Kyp added, "and we even brought you pretty flowers and sang to you while you were unconscious."
Katarn grunted and rolled his eyes, "I would have prefered death."
"You want to know what I heard?" Ben Skywalker asked just a little too exictedly. His bright blue eyes filled with awe and wonder. Gently he wiped his brow and was about to continue when Jysella rather rudely interupted him.
"Uh, no, but I'm sure you're going to tell us anyway."
Ben looked at her. What was her problem. She was always so rude to him, whenever she did acknowledge that he was even there.
And as usual he pretended not to hear her and continued, "I heard she wanted to be an actress and model like her mother because all she's ever wanted to do is live on Coruscant, and that she was offered contracts that are in the range of Kick Wes...I'm talking millions a piece. However, Baron Fel wouldn't allow it because of men like...Master Durron."
"Watch your mouth pup," Kyp said dryly. "I'd teach you a lesson but Mara would rattle chains by my bed for the rest of my life."
"Whatever," Ben said and turned to Valin. "What do you think Val?"
Valin Horn just stood there unmoving and without uttering a sound because, at the moment, he was incapable of doing anything else. There were symphonies playing in his head and a fire filled his heart unlike anything else he had ever experienced before. His dark hair blew in the wind but the intensity of his eyes never faltered. He just continued to stare at the most beautiful form he had ever seen.
She was utterly breathtaking and moved with a grace that couldn't possibly be touched by another woman in a million lightyears. He would always remember what she was wearing that day, a lightblue silk summer dress that went to her ankles. It was sleeveless and flowed on the wind behind her as she ran to her brothers arms.
Despite the distance between them, Valin's Jedi-enhanced eyesight allowed him to see that she wore gold butterfly clips in her hair.
He continued to stare as Ben Skywalker waved his hand in front of his eyes. "Master Horn, I think something is wrong with Valin, he's in some kind of trance...or something."
Just then Wyn Fel, who was walking away from the Imperial shuttle sandwiched between her father and brother, turned and looked directly at the Jedi, motioning in their direction. Jagged bent down and she said something in his ear, he nodded and they started walking towards them.
"You've got to be kriffing kidding me," Ben Skywalker said. "She's coming this way."
Katarn's voice was serious as he said, "Durron you will behave yourself understood?"
"Oh, I suppose so Kyle, I'd hate to have to fight you." Kyp shrugged, "Besides, she's entirely too aristocratic for my blood. And if the Fel's are anything, they are stuffy Imperial aristocrats."
"Man, I'm going to get to talk to her," Ben exclaimed as Jysella shot him an annoyed look that related how inmature she thought he was.
It was then that Valin Horn finally spoke, "I'm going to marry her."
Simultaneously, the other five Jedi turned and looked at Valin, but he didn't see them at all. All he could see..all he could reigister was her. He closed his eyes, burning this time and this moment into his consciousness forever. He'd remember it on his death bed he knew..this moment and this place.
Corran and Jysella looked at each other with confusion and slight concern. That was unlike Valin, he never made such statements of finality, and he always meant what he said and never said anything lightly. Jysella had never seen a look like that on her brothers face before. His jaw was set and his eyes were unflinching and undaunted as he continued to stare, unashamed at the young woman approaching them.
"A wedding?" Kyp asked. "I love wedding's, drinks all around. Good luck, Valin."
Corran elbowed Durron hard and spoke to Valin, "That's quite a statement son, you've never even spoken to her."
"I don't have to. I've known her my whole life."
Corran was completely flabergasted by Valin's unusual behavior. He shook his head and wondered what the next few moments would hold, what destiny they would shape. He could feel it in the Force, they all could. Something big was fixing to happen.
Finally the three Fel's stood in front of them, and before Jagged could speak, Wyn made her introductions, "Hello, Master Katarn, I'm Wynssa Fel," she said as she extended her hand for Kyle to shake it.
Katarn grinned, and looked sideways at Valin Horn, but instead of shaking her hand he bent and kissed it. "Hello Lady Fel," he said smoothly.
She nodded at him and smiled, slowly withdrawing her white gloved hand, "I'm sorry if it's impolite to ask but I've heard so much about your legendary journeys..and well, I'me working on my post-graduate studies and I'd like to know if you would sit with me and go over history, Sir. It wouldn't take a whole lot of your time and I'd really appreciate it."
Kyle bowed, "I'm at your call Lady Fel, whenever you're ready."
Her eyes lit up, "Oh, thank you. Is tomorrow afternoon too soon?"
"That will be fine. And the pleasure is all mine."
Jagged cleared his throat, "Now that you've imposed on a Jedi Master, Wyn, maybe you should be polite and speak to everyone else. This is Master Durron and Jedi Knight Jysella Horn."
Wyn nodded at both of them and said hello. Jag continued, "And this is Ben Skywalker, Jedi Knight."
Wyn smiled, "Of course, the Son of Skywalker."
Ben frowned, he hated being called that; especially by such a beautiful woman, but he added, "The Daughter of Fel."
Wyn laughed at him, "That doesn't have quite the same ring to it, now does it?"
Ben thought about it for a moment and finally said, "I guess not, no."
Jagged smiled at Ben, amused at how fast the young man had grown on him. He provided endless hours of entertainment without even realising it. "And Wyn, you've spoken to Master Horn before over the comm."
"Yes, but it's always nice to meet my uncles friends in person, I always enjoy the company."
Corran smiled, "you're far to kind Milady."
Finally Jagged's gaze landed on Valin, "And this is Corran's son, Jedi Knight Valin Horn. A fantastic wingmate."
By Valin's count it took Wynssa's gaze exactly five seconds to meet his. Finally she spoke.
"It's nice to meet you Jedi Horn."
Valin just stood there. For the life of him, he was unable to speak to Wynssa Fel. She looked at him only for a moment, waiting for an answer to her greeting. When it became clear that she wasn't going to get one, she looked back over them all and said, "It's been nice to meet all of you, and thank you again Master Katarn." And with that she took her brothers arm and they turned to leave.
Kyle bowed, and when they were out of hearing range said rather mockingly, "Gee, Horn that was a hell of a marriage proposal. I must have blinked and missed it."
Ben and Jys smiled but didn't laugh at Valin because he was obviously so...well, they couldn't quite figure it out.
Corran smiled and put his hand on Valin's shoulder, "It's okay son there will be another day to talk to her, I'm sure."
In that moment it was Kyp Durron's voice Valin heard, it was his voice that would knock the boy out of his stupor. "Go after her Valin. Don't let her walk away, you may only get one shot son, take it. It's your chance. Or you may watch her walk away with another man for the rest of your life. Your moment is now, go!"
He closed his eyes as the wind continued to blow over his face. He mustered every ounce of courage left in the universe.
He opened his eyes and again he heard Durron, "The Force hates a coward Valin, go."
Valin Horn stepped away from the others and began to run toward the slowly retreating family he called out, "Lady Fel."
They stopped and turned waiting for him to catch up. Despite being somewhat winded, he had no problem finding his voice this time.
Wynssa looked rather perplexed as she responded to him, "Yes, Jedi Horn."
He smiled a very windblown smile at her and took a deep breath, "Well, I'm not the historian that Master Katarn is, but I've got some pretty interesting stories myself and I'd really like to relay them to you over dinner." He then looked at Soontir, "If thats okay, of course."
Baron Fel arched the eyebrow over his uncovered eye and said, "If my daughter wishes it, it's fine by me Knight Horn."
Valin was somewhat relieved by his words until he looked at Wynssa, who just stood staring at him without any indication on her face of what her answer might be.
Seconds ticked on, but he didn't break gazes with her. The wind continued to churn as the thunder clouds started to roll, and the Force was on fire inside of Valin Horn.
Finally she spoke, "Pick me up tomorrow night at nineteen hundred hours. You know where we're staying I assume."
"Yes, I do," he said, "and I'll be there."
"Very well Jedi Horn, until then."
He bowed. "Until then...Lady Fel." He looked at Soontir and then Jagged and nodded. He then turned and walked away.
I shouldn't laugh, because I've found myself in Valin's place more times than I can count, but I can't help it. That last scene was absolutely hilarious.
Awesome post! Very Funny.
I've been out of the Star Wars universe too long, and I am just starting the Legacy of the Force. I supposed I'll have to read on the Legacy Series to find out how Jaina ended up with Jag. The way the book started, I was certain it was going to be her and Zekk. This series is going to be interesting.
No fear, Colonel Fel makes quite an entrance in LotF. I really, really could give you a freaking awesome quote right now..but, you may not want any type of spoilers.
It's that and a whole lot more, my friend. Thank you for reading and thank you so much for the reply.
He's being pulled in a million different directions, not that its a valid excuse mind you. However, when he does..it'll be powerful.
Thank you my dear.
PMSL! I just have to say I'm still chuckling after reading this. Jake actually came in the room and asked me what was wrong.
Chapter IV - This Moment
"Stop being a negative nova, Princess," her husband whispered as he stood beside her, "Everything is going to be okay, trust me." LOL Negative Nova. That's cute.
She looked up at him and gave him the "Organa Glare of Death". I'm pretty sure he's immune to this by now.
The two groups began to walk toward each other,in a moment that was certainly beining recorded for galactic history. Finally the two parties met and Syal Fel ran into her sons arms. "Jagged. Oh, Jag," she smiled up at him, "how handsome you look."
Ah yes. Mom's rock! You ever need an ego boost, there ya go.
Soontir smiled at him and placed a hand on his shoulder, "Jagged." He then grinned, "The beard looks different in person, I think I actually kind of like it." Damn right. He could make anything look good.
The party then all turned to leave except for Jagged and Soontir. "Well Father I guess we're waiting for the Beauty Extraordinare." LOL Wonder who that could be...
Soontir shook his head and chuckled, "We could be here a while Jagged, she's primping. But I wasn't going to hold everyone else up waiting on her."
"You could go ahead, I'll wait for her," Jagged said.
"No, I need a word with you anyway, son." Damn. Almost got away.
Jagged then turned and dismissed the Stormtroopers. All of which saluted him and marched back up the loading ramp of the shuttle except for one. That stormtrooper gave Jag a mock salute and made a somewhat sassy gesture towards him, and then proceeded up the ramp.
Jag and Soontir shot a look to each other and grinned. yeah, back at you Cem, we'll settle it later. And the last Fel has had his say. That wasn't very imperial though. LOL
"I just wanted to say that I'm sorry about your baby Jag, I truly am. Is she recovered?"
"Not fully, no. More children are highly unlikely."
Soontir gave a sympathetic nod and asked, "I take it you apologized for your outburst? We do not yell at women in this family Jagged. You were raised much better than that." That's right Soontir. You tell him!
Jag sighed. Apparently Leia had wasted no time in outing him to his father for his behavior towards Jaina. But he knew he deserved it. "I haven't seen her again, I've been pretty busy."
"Avoidance doesn't solve problems Jagged, you know that. You will make the time and shortly."
And now, for the sideshow...Please welcome the Jedi! (circus clown music starts)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"This has got to be the most boring thing that I've ever had to do. When can we leave Dad?" Jysella Horn's voice was inpatient as she fidgeted with her lightsaber and pulled stray locks of brown hair that the wind had freed from her bun out of her eyes. (yeah, cause that's mature ms. Ben Skywalker is immature.)
"Jys, act like a Jedi Knight and be tranquill for once, please," her fathers voice rang back.
"Yes, Sir." She let out a sigh and looked over to her older brother Valin who was busy chating with Ben Skywalker.
Masters Katarn and Durron also stood with them watching the Imperial's land, and the seemingly never ending parade of pomp and circumstance unfold before them. The six of them stood off to the side from the offical delegation. In theory they were honorary attendee's from the Jedi Order. In reality they were back-up in case any malcontent or lunatic got any ideas with all the big brass around. That did not need to happen under any circumstances.
"Would you get a load of that," Kyp Durron said as a low whistle escaped his mouth. "She looks just like her mother did in my dreams as a kid. And I'm not kriffing around." I love Kyp.
"Why Kyp," Corran said rather derisively, "Isn't she a little old for you? I thought your dating pool bracket was eighteen to twenty-five." Ouch!
Durron grinned, "That's not what Mirax says Corran...that's not what Mirax says."
"That's not funny anymore Kyp."
"Oh, I assure you it is." Uh, yeah Corran, it is. Freaking hilarious!
At that point Master Katarn had had enough and turned around with a scolding look on his face, "Will you two ever grow up? Because I've listened to you for far too many years. I swear Horn, your kids are more mature than you and Durron."
Corran looked offended, "But Kyle, we love you. Sat by your sick bed, day and night while you recovered from the hole of all holes in the chest.
"Thats right," Kyp added, "and we even brought you pretty flowers and sang to you while you were unconscious."
Katarn grunted and rolled his eyes, "I would have prefered death." Yeah, I'm thinking I would have too.
"You want to know what I heard?" Ben Skywalker asked just a little too exictedly. His bright blue eyes filled with awe and wonder. Gently he wiped his brow and was about to continue when Jysella rather rudely interupted him.
"Uh, no, but I'm sure you're going to tell us anyway."
Ben looked at her. What was her problem anyway. She was always so rude to him, whenever she did acknowledge that he was even there.
And as usual he pretended not to hear her and continued, "I heard she wanted to be an actress and model like her mother because all she's ever wanted to do is live on Coruscant, and that she was offered contracts that are in the range of Kick Wes...I'm talking millions a piece. However, Baron Fel wouldn't allow it because of men like.... Master Durron."
"Watch your mouth pup," Kyp said dryly. "I'd teach you a lesson but Mara would rattle chains by my bed for the rest of my life."
"Whatever," Ben said and turned to Valin. "What do you think Val?" I'm sorry, Valin's not in right now. But if you leave your name, number and a brief message, he might get back with you. Beeeeeep.
He continued to stare as Ben Skywalker waved his hand in front of his eyes. "Master Horn, I think something is wrong with Valin, he's in some kind of trance...or something." Or something is right.
Just then Wyn Fel, who was walking away from the Imperial shuttle sandwiched between her father and brother, turned and looked directly at the Jedi, motioning in their direction. Jagged bent down and she said something in his ear, he nodded and they started walking towards them.
"You've got to be kriffing kidding me," Ben Skywalker said. "She's coming this way." LMAO!
Katarn's voice was serious as he said, "Durron you will behave yourself understood?" Noted, cataloged and filed. Under yeah right.
"Oh, I suppose so Kyle, I'd hate to have to fight you." Kyp shrugged, "Besides, she's entirely too aristocratic for my blood. And if the Fel's are anything, they are stuffy Imperial aristocrats."
"Man, I'm going to get to talk to her," Ben exclaimed as Jysella shot him an annoyed look that related how inmature she thought he was.
It was then that Valin Horn finally spoke, "I'm going to marry her." PMSL!
Simultaneously, the other five Jedi turned and looked at Valin, but he didn't see them at all. All he could see..all he could reigister was her. He closed his eyes, burning this time and this moment into his consciousness forever. He'd remember it on his death bed he knew..this moment and this place. Man, I'm cracking up reading it again. Too funny.
Corran and Jysella looked at each other with confusion and slight concern. That was unlike Valin, he never made such statements of finality, and he always meant what he said and never said anything lightly. Jysella had never seen a look like that on her brothers face before. His jaw was set and his eyes were unflinching and undaunted as he continued to stare, unashamed at the young woman approaching them.
"A wedding?" Kyp asked. "I love wedding's, drinks all around. Good luck, Valin."
Corran elbowed Durron hard and spoke to Valin, "That's quite a statement son, you've never even spoken to her."
"I don't have to. I've known her my whole life."
Corran was completely flabergasted by Valin's unusual behavior. He shook his head and wondered what the next few moments would hold, what destiny they would shape. He could feel it in the Force, they all could. Something big was fixing to happen.
"It's nice to meet you Jedi Horn."
Valin just stood there. For the life of him, he was unable to speak to Wynssa Fel. She looked at him only for a moment, waiting for an answer to her greeting. When it became clear that she wasn't going to get one, she looked back over them all and said, "It's been nice to meet all of you, and thank you again Master Katarn." And with that she took her brothers arm and they turned to leave.
Kyle bowed, and when they were out of hearing range said rather mockingly, "Gee, Horn that was a hell of a marriage proposal. I must have blinked and missed it." PMSL!
Ben and Jys smiled but didn't laugh at Valin because he was obviously so...well, they couldn't quite figure it out.
Corran smiled and put his hand on Valin's shoulder, "It's okay son there will be another day to talk to her, I'm sure."
In that moment it was Kyp Durron's voice Valin heard, it was his voice that would knock the boy out of his stupor. "Go after her Valin. Don't let her walk away, you may only get one shot son, take it. It's your chance. Or you may watch her walk away with another man for the rest of your life. Your moment is now, go!"
Ah...the voice of reason. Scary that it's Kyp, but hey. What are you gonna do.
OMG Piper! This was freaking hilarious! Thank you, thank you, thank you! I loved it!
Can't wait to see Jag grovel to Jaina though.

"I just wanted to say that I'm sorry about your baby Jag, I truly am. Is she recovered?"
"Not fully, no. More children are highly unlikely."
Poor Jaina I hope that Force will help her for once and allow her to have a child.
Soontir gave a sympathetic nod and asked, "I take it you apologized for your outburst? We do not yell at women in this family Jagged. You were raised much better than that."
You tell him Soontir
Jag sighed. Apparently Leia had wasted no time in outing him to his father for his behavior towards Jaina. But he knew he deserved it. "I haven't seen her again, I've been pretty busy."
: shakes head : Way to go Jag. You sure are a top contender for idiot award of the year I can't believe that he first screamed at her, then left with promise to bring her food and did not return to her. Did he even think how it must have hurt her? She almost died, she lost a child and now she probably feels that she lost Jag too.
Great chapter
