Pain I: Tahiri's Lament [a sad Tahiri poem]

Yo everyone. This is a poem I wrote when I thought about Tahiri's depression and the mental torment and pessimism she suffered from Riina Kwaad. Hope you like it - please comment!

This is all a lie, an act.
Nothing more, nothing less.
Isn't it?
It must be.
But it can't be denied...
That when you tell yourself, "I know,"
You really don't.
When you say, "I'm strong,"
You know you're actually
Feeling pretty weak.
You state, "I'm fine,"
While inside you motionlessly watch yourself
Crumbling to pieces,
Your entire life and character ripped into shreds.
You smile blithely,
Even as your spirit weeps and screams
In a black whirling embrace of pain and hurt.
All the injustices of the galaxy
Have been thrust upon you,
You exclusively,
Just to test you.
And you are being tested - twisted - beyond your limits.
Soon,
Any time now,
You will crack.
The fear of this sits in your mouth, sour on your tongue, and you hate it.
You
Get up and fall,
Get up and fall,
Get up and fall,
Get up and fall,
Get up and fall,
Over and over and over and over and over and
Over
Again.
This toppling never will stop, and you notice that
You seem to be tripping over the same things
All the time.
You see the good in yourself one moment,
And the bad the next.
These two parts of you never seem to balance properly, somehow...
But that's just another thing you
Can't figure out,
So eventually you stop
Trying
And you stop
Caring.
You try to listen to Them and whisper to yourself,
"I've got it, I'm good,"
But inside you
Know
That you
Just
Don't
Have
It.

Beautifully written. I suck at poems myself, that's why I'm totally fascinated by people who write poetry so well. Great job.

Loved this. It does get you thinking because it's something a whole lot of people go through. Trying to fight the inner demons and the like.

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!! OMGOD. I was so surprised.
At any rate, I just got the e-mail today (July 20th), because I was at a stupid camp... GRRR. And the deadline for sending the poem in was the 9th. *angry scream*
