Robimus posted: This is an incredible line from Pellaeon. Sums up his service, loyalty and Duty beautifully.
Glad you approved.
Robimus posted: I do hope Pellaeon starts to think for himself at some point though
Oh, he already thinks for himself, he's just never given thought to effectively mounting a military coup. Limit the power of some incompetent politicians, yeah, but not seize power for himself. Think of this as a sort of Roman type of mindset: the best types of leaders are the men or women who don't want power.
Jade_eyes posted: Talon's POV is fantastic and very IC. His attraction to Shada--SQUEE!!!
Well, I like Shada/Talon. Not enough to actively seek out fics about them, but it seemed pretty clear that was Zahn's plan after VOTF ... though it seemed clear that was the plan with L/M after TTT and we saw how well the profic did that.
Jade_eyes posted: The Moffs are a bunch of dunderheads except for Tavira.
Well, they are politicians...
Jade_Pilot posted: This post had everyone in it!
Nah ... was missing Han & Leia & Chewie & a couple more...
cggunnersmate posted: It was cool to see how in sync Luke and Mara are becoming. They're defintely becoming a highly effective duo in combat, now we need to see their personal relationship deepen. Maybe if they can catch a break from fighting clones.
A break? Heh. Maybe on a remote, romantic swamp world fill with terrible snakes and horrific humidity?
cggunnersmate posted: Okay, I wanna know who's behind this whole mess and where's he/she/it getting all this Clone Wars era DNA and war material.
Yeah, Luke & Mara wanna know too...
cggunnersmate posted: Yes, L/M need to train some more potential Jedi before they get overwhelmed.
Actually, Mara needs to finish her training first...
cggunnersmate posted: Maybe Kyle Katarn?
Kyle will be showing up in Tyranny Reborn...
cggunnersmate posted: I do wonder who the Force sensitive 181st pilot was. A clone? Maarek Steele maybe?
It was Stele. A little homage to all the fun I had back in the day playing TIE Fighter... And no E-Wings. I hated 'em.
Jaina_and_Jag posted: But what did you do to him?! He better not be dead!
Now that would be telling.
tato82 posted: How the heck do you manage to crank up so much awesonium in so little time?!
By neglecting my school work, not having a real social life, and being a fairly boring person all around.
tato82 posted: Are you sure that you are not Timothy Zhan?
Yup.
tato82 posted: And I right to assume that this is only the first of many confrontations between Rogue Squadron and the 181st Imperial Squadron?
tato82 posted: Isn't Luke some 8 cms taller than Mara?
Not in my universe. Her listed height on Wookieepedia is 1.6m which translates to a fairly tiny 5'3". In my version, she's 1.73m or so, fractionally taller than Luke's 1.72m. For some reason, I just liked the idea of her being a little taller than him.

Mara and Shada...! I love how you've written the Karrde POV. And what happens to Corran?
Also, linguistics geek: what does Et tante Mistryl goth’ga mean? Is it part of some 'real' Mistryl language, or something you made up, or random exotic-sounding words... ?
Good luck with schoolwork!

Awesome chapter. I always liked Shada and I love how you've written her and her relationship w/ Karde.
I think my favorite line was the "violent ballet of death". Very appropriate and it paints a great picture, I would have loved to see that fight on film.
Great to see the Rogues again and a 181st pilot? Oh my.
May you study fast and may a muse poke you in the ribs for encouragement as we all eagerly await the next chapter.

You know, I was unaware the EU Pellaeon was born on Corellia until after I saw your post and looked him up on Wookieepedia. Well, even so, he clearly doesn't consider himself Corellian...
DarthXan318 posted: Also, linguistics geek: what does Et tante Mistryl goth’ga mean? Is it part of some 'real' Mistryl language, or something you made up, or random exotic-sounding words... ?
It's a bunch of made up words wherein I tried to use some similar sounding linguistics from Earth as a template. I mean, I could have had her say Ich bin ein Mistryl, but that may have been 'I'm a doughnut' so I used something that sounded (to me) fairly realistic yet foreign.
As to what it means exactly, I dunno. Clearly, she's identifying herself as Mistryl, but she might just be saying she's Mistryl-trained or something similar. Feel free to mentally derive your own preferred translation...

I always did love the way that L/M became one. Not only through the Force but also through thier heart and spirit, I especially liked that Talon was able to notice the connection and he is not Force sensitive. Good luck staying off the internet and working on your school work. I myself got into the habit of getting onto the internet every night, Now I try to get on it maybe once or twice a week. Work hard my friend at school and great post. Thanks!

Rigil, you've done it again! Another awesome chapter!!
I adore L/M together, and seeing it from Karrde's POV was a nice treat. I also liked Shada in this chapter. Her admiration of the fight scene and L/M's interaction was great! Nice touch with the Mistryl language, too.
Torul is becoming a very interesting character. It appears that he's evaluating Pellaeon's reaction to the overthrow of the council. And his comment about having an Empire without an Emperor... makes me think he might be in on the whole cloned Jedi Masters thing.
I loved the Coran scene, too! I'm reading the first of the X-Wing novels now (mainly because you're using many of those characters and backstory), and I'm amazed at how well you write the battle scenes! I can actually picture the action taking place. Stackpole and Zahn also writes those scenes quite well. Other authors... not so much. So kudos to you!
A Force sensitive 181st pilot, huh? This is getting very interesting indeed...
Good luck with your class! I hope you get an "A".

Wait ... you've never actually read them before? Whoa. Apart from the Zahn trilogy and the movies, the X-Wing novels are the only official EU I've completely included in my version of the universe.

I know. I'm a very bad SW fan. Mara wasn't in it, so I wasn't interested. But I'm finding they're excellent and a very fun read. They also go very well with Tyranny Reborn.

The X-Wing books are an awesome read. Quite possibly THE most entertaining books in the EU, easily the best series in terms of being enjoyable to read. I actually look forward to reading the X-Wing books, NJO, DN and LoTF were more of a chore and I read them more out of a sense of duty (which isn't how it should be!). Though I didn't have high hopes for them (not about the Rogues and not written by Stackpole), I loved the Wraith Squadron books as well. I probably laugh more reading those three books than just about all other SW books combined. Definitely worth reading.
Kyle Katarn's in! Thanks Rigil!

Just a heads-up, I haven't forgotten or abandoned this. Been crazy busy with real life & school, so I haven't been able to write. Working on that though - chapter 6 is mostly done (pending beta work and feedback).
