	PointGiven: FIRST!!! Great job Now that I've read it. I'm glad to see Jacen still hasn't become truely corrupted and that's he was suspicious of Malig for what he did to Anakin. Keep going for that feeling Jacen! Thanks, it's really important to me that all of Jacen's decisions seem very natural and we don't feel like he's doing a 180 just because he's a Sith. While I'll be revealing how and why Lowie are helping Jacen soon, I'll go ahead and answer this one. Malig has not shown Lowie or Alema his face. Of the characters we've met so far, only Jacen, Callista, and Faybol know what's beneath the mask. Does he have some hypnotic power that can be used when someone views his face, or is he someone that everyone recognizes. It's not that he has some hypnotic power. That would be a little hokey, IMO, I promise it's nothing like that. glad to see Jacen is upset about the anikian tahari thingy. Yeah, Jacen still cares about his family and he was shocked to hear what Malig had done to Anakin, especially when he realized the implications for his own dealings with Malig. The last time we saw Alema, she was getting captured on the Rapture and spit in Jacen's face. Well, they had the upper hand for a few minutes at least I have to say, Callista's pop up was long over due, but still a bit aof a surprise. There's a lot more going on with her. I don't think we'll see another flashback, I just wanted to do that to establish that what happened to her actually happened since everything else from her has been lies, but I think Callista has some surprises for us in the future Love the fighting action scenes which were all female and all crazy tough! Now now, we don't know that yet I'm not quite sure how much of Malig's story to believe. What is so important about his face that it convinced Jacen to betray his entire family? Jacen had already betrayed his family before he'd seen Malig's face. He was persuaded by his arguments about the Force, more or less, and also his certainty that Luke and the Jedi Order were going in the wrong direction. Jacen felt betrayed when he learned about Luke's involvement in Lando and Karrde's election rigging back in Destiny's Way. Seeing Malig's face "made everything make sense" for Jacen. We don't know why yet. You're very good at confusing readers, Wes. Thanks? Hopefully everything will make sense when it's all said and done. If it makes you feel any better, I know exactly where everything is going, have it all plotted out. I know what the climax looks like, I know what the last scenes are, who lives and who dies, and all the hows and whys. I know the answer to every question that has been raised so far. This is never going to be addressed in the story, but there has been mention of a bug species in Raithian space, mostly back in Rénin chapters called the Dekkeds. They had a brutal war with the Raithians and were eventually conquered. They are a colony of Killiks Thanks for reading and replying, nice catch! DARTH_MU: it's very simple you see, all you need to turn Alema would be promising her unlimited supplies of cloned, submissive hot bod! Anakin clones. I'm not sure it would even have to be anyone hot with her for Lowie, just threaten him that you would kill Han Solo and every one of his spawn unless he joined you. I think there's another reason, but we'll get to that... Is it true that Tahiri Veila is dead, DEAD? like with a capital M? I know I read it, and I read somewhere that everyone saw her 'corpse', but is she? Is she really? Is there NO hope? Tahiri is not dead. Faybol used the Vagaari stasis band (we see them in Survivor's Quest, the Vagaari were conquered by the Raithians) to make Tahiri appear dead. They kept her in a state of suspended animation. When Anakin saw her, she appeared completely dead. Fear not people, Shira Brie will come and save the day, and kick Yoda Kenobi's Callista (tm)'s you know what. NB: I refuse to believe that it is Callista who's doing these 'things'. Maybe you'll end up being right? Anyway, we'll find out more about why she's doing the things she's doing later. In a galaxy that was struggling with a thousand different skirmishes in the wake of the Yuuzhan Vong's destruction, the effort was a symbol of unity, the bright spot in the galaxy that warmed the chests of each of the GA's citizens with pride and filled them with a commodity that had been in short supply since Coruscant fell: hope. Hope? What is this 'hope' of which you speak? He let his gaze linger on the Jedi Master's hard stare only a moment before turning to his left to see if he could find more support there, but instead saw a similar look in Octa Ramis' eyes above the muzzle of the blaster pistol she kept pointed at him. A Jedi using a blaster? How uncivilized. "You don't understand," Jacen pleaded. "I didn't come here alone. You're putting yourselves in grave danger." "So sweet of you to worry about us," Octa Ramis said, tightening her grip on the blaster she had pointed in his direction. "But we took care of your little escort of Raithian soldiers before we even hit you with that concussion grenade. They'll be waking up in a few hours, probably with a worse headache than you must have right now." Jacen shook his head. "I wasn't talking about them." He's got backup for the backup I bet. "Did my parents know about this? That you planned to attack me?" "No, none of the other Jedi do. This was Thrawn's idea. He—" "Octa," Kirana Ti admonished, casting her warrior's glare at the other woman. "Enough." Ah, so this was Thrawn's idea. Either A) They bring in Jacen or B) Their failure to do that will fullfil some other plan Thrawn has. Usually that's the way things work out... Thrawn, Jacen thought, relieved that at least his family hadn't turned against him to the point where they were actively trying to hurt him. Jaina's announcement more than seven months earlier that the legendary Chiss strategist was still alive was at least one piece of information he had not shared with his new master. I don't know, I somehow get the feeling he may already suspect that Thrawn is alive... Jacen wanted to save them. He wanted to save everyone. Ugh, now he has the Anakin Skywalker Syndrome. You can't save everybody, you idiot. He wasn't a traitor— if anything, it was the Jedi who were unknowingly betraying the galaxy and the Force they'd sworn to serve. From your point of view. For Jacen, it was an epiphany, hearing exactly what he had felt was wrong since he was very young but having been unable to put it into words, or even understand it cognitively. Maybe Malig just said what Jacen wanted to hear? The little the Dark Lord told him of who he actually was went to further prove that he and Jacen were linked by fate. According to Malig, he had once been the secret apprentice of Sidious' master, Darth Plagueis— a being that could not only save people from death, but could create life with the Force. Malig claimed that Plagueis did this once, when he created Anakin Skywalker. Ah yes, I remember this little insinuation from RotS. And how Anakin Sr. completely ignores it. They must hate me, Jacen though. Anakin, most of all... Well, I don't think you'll get any Christmas cards from him... Surely Tenel Ka would listen to him? If nothing else, he had to save her and his child. He had to. Checks title Okay, just had to look and make sure this wasn't LotF. "I bet that Hutt-hugger got frightened and took off without us." "No, this will all go according to plan. He'll be here soon." "What if something happened to him?" "Na'rul—" "We're all going to die!" Wow, he sure is jumpy. Too bad he's probably right... Kirana Ti turned her attention to Jacen. "What do you know about this?" "I tried to tell you..." "Tell us what?" "Just surrender now, please. I promise, I can protect you if you do—" "Stow it," the Jedi Master snapped, before looking to Na'rul. "Stay here, we're going to go check it out." Readies Clonetroopers to help Kirana and Octa Her name is Callista. Ah man, not her again. Callista "Bad Penny" Ming. Then he asks her what she wants more than anything in the galaxy and she tells him. He says he can give it to her. I want to say that it's Luke, but knowing luck, it's something else. Darth Malig had told her this would happen, that he'd seen in the Force that Jacen would be attacked during his visit to Coruscant, but the Dark Lord did not want to warn his apprentice— Callista knew from experience that Malig could be a harsh teacher. Instead, he'd tasked her with making sure Jacen was looked after, and she snuck a fingernail-sized beacon onto his uniform. Tries to prevent joke from coming out. Fails Does this mean Jacen will think his uniform betrayed him? she even prepared herself to play the role of seductress if necessary. Dear God NO! Though she believed in Malig's cause, it didn't mean she trusted the Dark Lord— the Sith placed great value in treachery, after all. Wow, that's the first smart thing she's done so far. "Save your breath, Sith Witch," Octa Ramis seethed I would've said something else... "Very well, but you should know you don't stand a chance." "I suppose next you're going to tell us to surrender?" Kirana Ti asked sardonically. "Your friend Jacen already tried that." "No, I'm not Jacen," Callista smirked, before thumbing on the activator switch on the long cylinder in her right hand and letting her opponents take in the spectacle as a blade of scarlet energy exploded from each end with a dual snap-hiss. "I don't care if you surrender or not." Callista has backup, doesn't she? Unless she's very sure of her skills... "Alema? Lowbacca?" She said in disbelief. "Thank the Force! Where have you been?" *** "Oh," Alema smirked, the lightsaber in her hand snapping to life in a chilling flash of silver and reverberating hum as Lowbacca let out a sorrowful moan. I like having to think about what's happening in movies/books/fanfics/etc, so when I say you're confusing me, it's a good thing. 	Wow! These last two chapters have to be some of the best you have ever done! Loved the Thrawn and Karrde reunion, with Soontir Fel and Voss Parck thrown in for good measure. So Jorj Car'das is going to have involvement. I'm getting ready to reread the Hand Of Thrawn Duology, so I guess the timing is perfect. One of my favorite parts from the last story was Han and Leia battling those Annihlaters, so I'm glad to see them back. It's great to see Octa and Kirana Ti actually putting up a good fight. Now will they be assimilated, or will they be killed? I'm leaning more towards the latter, but anythings possible. I have to compliment you again on your treatment of Jacen's character. He has no doubt that he is right about his beliefs, and he is actually very convincing, reading his thoughts. Two amazing posts! Can't wait for Friday! So Jorj Car'das is going to have involvement. Yep I'm getting ready to reread the Hand Of Thrawn Duology, so I guess the timing is perfect. Yeah. That's one of those series that I go back to again and again for fanfic research... One of my favorite parts from the last story was Han and Leia battling those Annihlaters, so I'm glad to see them back. Cool! I think that was probably my favorite scene in the story in a lot of ways. I just had a ball writing it. It's great to see Octa and Kirana Ti actually putting up a good fight. Now will they be assimilated, or will they be killed? I'm leaning more towards the latter, but anythings possible. Yes, there are other possibilities I have to compliment you again on your treatment of Jacen's character. He has no doubt that he is right about his beliefs, and he is actually very convincing, reading his thoughts. That's really good to hear and a goal of mine. I really want everyone reading to understand why Jacen is doing what he's doing. I want him to remain a character you can relate to even if he's helping evil. Two amazing posts!
