You just killed Ben, and I'm not the least bit sad about it. Might have something to do with Jacen admitting he can just clone another one...
How many 'Ben's' as he gone through already?

Ben Skywalker had matured into an ugly, dangerous young killer, his baser instincts restrained only by control protocols that Jacen had hard-wired into his skull.
Jacen has been tinkering with his brain? Installing like on a hard-drive a control thing? A virus scanner of own thoughts if you will? 
Riina supposed that Emperor Caedus had, strictly speaking, done that to him. But emotionally, instinctively, it was Ben who repelled her, not the Master who they shared.
Well, it is Ben who is walking before her nose all day long. With his strange wiring. It (can you still talk of him as him, now that he is programmed from Caedus?) has not imprinted on his forehead “Caedus has done that – hate him and are repelled by him”, no? 
Maybe her own new sense of who is her boss ignores the fact of what he is doing – generally? And Ben is less than her, she followed because she wanted to, and he because he was weak minded and made to do it?
Some people had the strength of will to become something useful, like a Sith Apprentice. Others were just slaves, like Ben.
And she considers herself as strong?
Some might say she is a drug addicted – addicted to the flow walking (if that is still part of the AU that is  )
And beside, her Master always said that she should follow her instincts.
Which ones? Her human ones, her Tuskan ones? Or her Yuuzhan Vong ones? That is not so easy with the girl after all
Even where they disagree with you? she'd questioned him.
Of course, he answered. I have no intention of dying, or of letting you overthrow me; but you should still be capable of such things.
Uhh… he thinks she is able to do so?

She'd smirked in reply, and they'd made love for the first time that night.
I am not sure … why?
I am not a fan of Jacen/Tahiri – it is beyond me how she CAN choose a farce of Anakin, someone lesser, someone tinted?! 
He wasn't Anakin, but he was a stick to scratch the itch with.
Afterwards, she always wondered if he knew how much she was using him. Maybe, maybe not, but if he did, she suspected he would approve anyway.
The question is who is using whom? I am certain she does not need to feel guilty for using him, he certainly does use her too
It always took a little of the edge off her after-sex mood, though, so she just pushed conscious thought away, and lay there, resting in the familiar contour of his embrace.
Eventually, she would fall asleep, almost at peace. It had become a nightly ritual for her.
Too sleep with him?!  
Today, she had woken to find herself alone in Jacen's bed, with Ben standing by the bedroom door.
Must be a pleasant sight *sarcastic* she so likes Ben after all 
"My Master requires your presence," he said, in a blunt monotone. His grey eyes looked at her, cold as steel.

Leaving her to wake up and then commanding her around to appear after his bidding LOL
She didn't get any sense that he was sexually excited by the sight of her, but his presence was so emotionless that she wasn't sure if he lacked normal human reactions, or if he was just shielding really well. Either way, it was pretty disturbing.
Why should he?
She is an old woman to him? One who is involved with his master, with her master? … kind of strange trail of thought
"Fine, fine," she said, throwing back the sheets, and rolling out of bed. She walked to the wardrobe, and glanced back at him. "Tell him, I'll be along."
"Yes, Lady." Ben nodded, turned, and left--moving like an automaton. Riina frowned, and turned her attention to her clothes.
Well, is she not repelled by his presence anyway? And his newly wired brain?
Jacen liked her to wear military uniform--an officer's deck uniform, contrasting with Ben's light armour and combat fatigues, but still in the black of the Galactic Guard. He said it went with her hair.
Would it not also support her position? If she is a civilian she has no command .. as a part of the command line she has
And Ben is cannon fodder
She chose civilian trousers, brown boots, and a tee-shirt and sports top. Jacen could go kriff himself.
If he complained, she'd remind him that she was a Sith, and expected to do such things.
Is she now?
Perhaps he'd hurt her again. She rather liked it when he did. It added a spice to their relationship, an edge of real passion to a pairing that was otherwise entirely about him being a replacement for Anakin.
embrace the pain
Does she do that when she sleeps with the one who carries a farce face of Anakin? Because that is how I see it .. he is a shadow of Anakin .. and certainly not worth her
She laid her clothes on the bed, and went into the 'fresher to wash away the smell of sex with her Sith Master.
Half an hour later, she joined him at the breakfast table.
Keep him waiting .. go girl who is the Master
"My lord," she said, kneeling and bowing her head. Jacen had told her to use My Master, but that was what Ben said, and she didn't like the servile tone.
"Fetch yourself something from the breakfast bar, Apprentice," Jacen commanded. It was typically petty--she hoped it was a test, but she doubted it.
He seems not be pleased that she had kept him waiting for so long
She bobbed her head a little lower, then walked across the room, and poured herself a glass of fruit juice. Her real breakfast would come later, mid-morning, at a little eatery in the shopping district downtown from the Palace.
Breakfast with Jacen was a strange experience, one she'd still not got used to. Only he had a seat at the table, with his Hand standing like a bodyguard behind him, and his Apprentice expected to... well, she wasn't quite sure what.
His hand? Who?
"So, my lord?" she asked, leaning against the table, and looking at him. He nodded fractionally, and she was relieved. She'd read his mood right--no Force lightining this morning. "Your pet Skywalker told me you wanted to see me?"
Pet is it now … So he is really nothing worth – at least not much
"Indeed." Jacen didn't seem to be in any hurry to explain. She just met his gaze as it travelled back up to her eyes, and took a slow sip on her juice.
The awkward silence stretched on until it became uncomfortable.
Even Ben looked a little twitchy--in an I don't know what to do here kind of way, not an I want to kill a kitten one, for once.
Maybe he really does not know, since Jacen did not tell his new circuits what is expected from him
Somehow he reminds me right now of “Star Trek – The MotionPicture” and the made droid Ilia; she followed instructions though had enough personality left to make some own decisions – kinda?
"Well," Jacen said. "Concerning your training."
She did her best to look attentive.
"I think you and Ben should train together more, Tahiri." She flinched at the use of her old name, which helped her avoid rolling her eyes at the rest of what he'd said.
And his is Caedus
"My name is Riina, my lord. Tahiri Veila is dead." She said it like she believed it. She shot a contemptuous look at Ben, as if to remind Jacen of that difference between the two of them.
"Quite. Even so. I think you can learn from each other. You've finally surpassed the training droids he's using for his lightsaber practice, so you can take over as his sparring partner... and discovering the extent of his abilities will teach you to learn to respect him more."
Her eyes flinched as if she'd just been slapped. "You think he's better than me?"
Mhh .. certainly not in bed
Well seriously – Riina has no respect for the second apprentice – I take Jacen or Caedus is still interested to have Ben at least as something like “The Sword of the Sith” Trained well and following his instructions without second thoughts. Tahiri – Riina is older and more trained and had her fair share of battles – Ben might learn from her best than another programmed droid
"Not in every department," Jacen countered--appreciative memories of the night before edging his presence in the Force. "Try him and see. He is my Hand, so obey him like you would obey me."
Ah so he is the Hand Like his mother to the former Emperor
Riina's guts coiled. "Yes, my lord," she said, standing straight and bowing smartly, then fixing him with a vicious glare. "Do I have your permission to hurt him."
"Kill him, if you can," Jacen grinned. "I can always clone another one. But Riina...?"
Clone?!
"Yes, my lord?" She tried her best to look polite.
She better should he might clone her as well?!
"Change into uniform before you go down to the gym. Ben can go with you."
She should have put on in first place
She tensed, and glared, but Jacen was smiling at her, with the dangerous glint in his eyes and grin that said he wanted to hurt her.
Oops she might like that though!
"Yes, my lord," she sighed. But inside, she felt momentarily defiant and amused--almost happy to be a Sith Apprentice. There was no way she was going to change in front of Ben again. Not into her karking Alliance uniform. Caedus would just have to hurt her later.
"Come on, Apprentice," Ben said, beckoning her to follow him.
She rolled her eyes. "By your leave, my lord."
Again rolling eyes? Canon Tahiri never did that
"My Hand speaks and acts with my authority, Apprentice," Jacen smiled, gesturing for her to go. "Remember that."
So she is after all just his plaything …
"Yes, my lord." The momentary good mood was gone. Did every Sith Apprentice find their life this... boring?
No, they attempt to kill their Master most of the time
Ben didn’t talk much. He just led Riina through the Palace to the training gym, and instructed her to square off against him.
She was angry now, and she could see he expected to win the match.
Oh? That might be interesting
Maybe that was what Jacen had intended, but she didn’t care.
She was surprised to be beaten in five straight rounds. Something was wrong with the Force. Jacen had drugged her, or he was controlling Ben--but even that shouldn’t have accounted for it.
Realize it … Ben is stronger than you!
“Battle meditation,” Ben said, offering her a formal hand. “I made you lose. You were still too focused on the fighting.”
Haha! Boosted! By a lad half her age! She can now consider herself as weak-minded!
“Oh,” she answered, ignoring his hand and standing up on her own, dusting herself down. “Lord Caedus trusts you with that?”
“He shouldn’t,” Ben agreed, with the nastiest grin she’d ever seen from him. “One day, I’m going to work out how to defeat his grip on my mind. I’ll depose you as Apprentice first, then take his place.”
That is the way Riina should talk like not he … and it shows that Caedus has not a good grip on him
The question is if he is going to rob Riina’s mind of the info to prevent Caedus knowing
Riina’s eyebrows both shot up. “Indeed?”
Was the kid deluded--was this part of what Jacen had made him into? Or had Jacen Solo, Darth Caedus, Emperor of the Galaxy... miscalculated, badly?
Maybe she and Jacen are deluded?
“Yeah.” Ben’s smirk seemed slightly deranged, and she realised that he was sincere. This was what he wanted, whether he could achieve it or not, and he lacked the social skills and common sense to realise he shouldn’t be bragging to her.
“Well,” she answered, and whipped her lightsaber round in an arc, straight through his neck. “I’ll tell my Master that he needs a better Hand, I guess.”
Erm?! WTH!?! She did not just do that?
That is rather strange .. why did he not sense it if he was controlling her just a second earlier?!
Ben’s head hit the ground with a thud, and she walked past him, letting the body topple to the floor behind her.
Droids hurried into the chamber, to clean up the mess. That was the problem with Hands--you could train them to a high level of skill, but they were pathetically limited in their ability to anticipate surprises.
Are they? The next hand will just try it again

You do know that I like your style of writing but I am not sure if I ever will be fond of Jacen hooking up with Tahiri .. or Riina and Caedus or whatever strange pairing you will think of with those two once born as Jacen Solo and Tahiri Veila
Ben ... well ... he is strange, yes he got a brain grip or manipulation ... but it seems not to work as it should Otherwise he would not be able to think of revolution... then the mistake with telling Tahiri though he should have known – that she is loyal
I wonder if Tahiri would turn against her master on her own
Or is he so much use to her .. and why?

It could be implants; it could be a little bit of Yuuzhan Vong biotech; it could just be Force-braniwashing. I'm not sure if Riina knows the details, and I'm not sure if it matters... but yes.

Yes, that's the point: Ben seems 'weaker' as a Hand rather than an Apprentice; on the other hand, maybe he wasn't exactly willing before Jacen programmed him? Isn't that something that should provoke pity?
Or is the point that Ben can't escape his programming (when Tahiri/Riina did in Edge of Victory and the rest of the NJO...?)

She's able to embrace the pain, yes... but I don't think it's just pain in J/T... there is some, yes - but it's also the nearest thing to A/T she can have...

No, Ben is NOT an Apprentice, as I said at the start: Some people had the strength of will to become something useful, like a Sith Apprentice. Others were just slaves, like Ben.
Riina is the Sith Apprentice; Ben Skywalker is the Emperor's Hand.

Well... aren't you fond of Marakin? How about Luke/Tenel Ka?  Jaina/Chak?
Tahiri has a stubbornness, a defiance, which Ben lacks, I think. She's interesting. Riina isn't the only bored Sith here.
Ben, on the other hand... was behaving exactly as programmed. He was able to think about defiance - but he couldn't actually disobey his emperor. It was much more shallow than Tahiri's resistance.
Which is exactly the way Jacen wanted the two of them!!

She turned into the corridor, back to the turbolift, and idly wondered if she should just head down to the hangars and leave.
And then she stopped. A man was standing by the 'lifts, dressed in black GAG fatigues like Ben had been; but taller, and with dark hair and blue... grey eyes.
"Lady Riina? he asked, as she just stood there speechless. "I'm Captain Anakin Solo, Galactic Guard. At least, that's my cover name. My real title is the Emperor's Hand."
"Anakin?" she blinked, shaking hands dumbly. He looked at her, and frowned a little--such an Anakin expression, it had to be him.
But her heart was sinking at the lack of recognition in his eyes.
"Have we met before?" she asked.
"No, I don't believe so. My Master has trained me for all the life I can remember. I've met few people, properly, so I think I would remember."
She nodded curtly. "Well," she said. "Let's see if we can make you better than your predecessor."
"Predecessor?"
"Never mind," she said, guiding him into the turbolift.
He followed, like an eager puppy--or a teenage boyfriend, she supposed.
"So, tell me why Lord Caedus sent you here?" she asked.
"He wished to evaluate you, Lady Riina," Anakin answered, looking faintly uncomfortable. "He and I have a Force-bond. I can hear his commands, and he can see and feel what I do."
We have to get ysalamiri, she decided. Myrkr, maybe.
Out loud, she took a deep breath. "You do realise you're his brother, dummy?" she asked.
"I'm aware I share some genetic material with Lord Caedus, so I can see why the term would fit." He shrugged. "Mission-specific knowledge is inserted in a qah matrix, and the memories are removed afterwards. If I don't recognize you again, that will be why, but my uploads told me you were unaware of my existence."
"Anakin, dummy," she sighed. "You're his brother. You were... or the original, if you're a clone...." She'd met clones before, including the steroid-pumped Luke Skywalkers of the new Royal Guard, and the nameless Jaina Solo drones who flew the starfighters of the Palace's TIE Defender wing. They hadn't seemed as real, as true... but maybe that was Jacen's plan.
No, he wouldn't be that twisted. He's not capable of subtlety.
Anakin had blinked; now, he was looking at her, perplexed.
"I'm not a clone of anyone," he answered, with all the stubbornness she remembered. "Lord Caedus told me that. I'm some sort of genetic freak he made, I think."
Riina frowned thoughtfully. "Well. Exactly how am I to be... evaluated."
"I'm not sure," Anakin frowned. "I think I'm just here to be his eyes and ears."
"I doubt that." She looked at him, frowning thoughtfully now.
"Well, come on. Let's get lunch."
"Sure," he nodded, and frowned as if he'd forgotten something.
"Dummy," she said, adjusting his arm. "You offer a lady your arm."
"Oh, okay." He grinned, and did a fair impression of the gentlemanly thing.
"Good boy," she smiled. "Now take the lead, and get me to the main street entrance."
"Yes, Lady Riina," he said, almost purring. He really sounded like he was enjoying himself.
That was good, because she was, too.

although, should it actually be Riinakin or Anakiina? Cause I always thought that Tahiri ceased to exist when that 14 year old body told Mezhan Kwaad that her name is Riina. I'm thinking that everything afterwards that happened between A/T is actually Riina, not Tahiri. i.e. Riina kissed Anakin in that space locker...
tell me, do we have any proof that Tahiri is the original?
I mean, c'mon, memories are deleted afterwards...

I totally disagree with you. I don't think that "Riina" represents anything more than a second set of memories, coupled with the repressed aspects of Tahiri's psyche.

If you're asking if Riina is a clone in this story - no, she's not. That much I can tell you.

Thanks! As I just said to DARTH_MU, I don't think that Riina and Tahiri are "separate people" - just two competing identities for the same girl; and this Riina is an evolved identity that has moved beyond both her old ones... but she's still, always, Tahiri, underneath - as Anakin said to her once.

Somehow in this situation, you've made them seem like themselves

Another completely unexpected twist, Thrawn. I've got all kinds of theories about Vergere and the Yuuzhan Vong right now, but I'm wondering if this isn't the result of flow walking on Jacen's part instead, or some other Force ability he picked up in his sojourn Maybe he got Anakin from Lumiya though...?
Either way, I like the idea of Jacen making a brainwashed Anakin his Hand.

Does it matter? Interesting ideas, though. In general terms, I suppose it's fair to say that Anakin, as remade by Jacen, embodies the combination of secret Yuuzhan Vong techniques (Qah cells), understated Sith control (Emperor's Hand), and generally prominent neo-Empire technology and aesthetics (Captain in the Galactic Guard) that're reflected elsewhere in Caedus's "New Order"...

It could be implants; it could be a little bit of Yuuzhan Vong biotech; it could just be Force-braniwashing. I'm not sure if Riina knows the details, and I'm not sure if it matters... but yes.

Yes, that's the point: Ben seems 'weaker' as a Hand rather than an Apprentice; on the other hand, maybe he wasn't exactly willing before Jacen programmed him? Isn't that something that should provoke pity?
Or is the point that Ben can't escape his programming (when Tahiri/Riina did in Edge of Victory and the rest of the NJO...?)
Why should he have been willing? And why pity?
Ben is younger than Tahiri, his training in canon was from young years influenced by his uncle – a hero – someone he looked up to. And the more his father complained the more he pushed him toward Jacen even when he saw the wrong things he is doing and started to question it. But it is the forbidden, the complained thing you are drawn to like the moth to the candle.
Well he seems to have this big plan to kill Jacen .. though he is not acting – he goes and tells Riina – that is kinda stupid if he does not take Riina out as well. Why did he believe to be able to trust her?!
Or is it like genetic memory? What this clone knew knows the new one as well? … spares a lot of training time
