Due to our fundraising efforts for ALS Association at the B-Sens hockey game, I received a postcard invitation in today's mail for the 2007 Walk to D'Feet ALS Kick Off party. The party is Monday July 16th from 5:30pm-7pm at Roberts Wesleyan College in Rochester. The Kick-Off party is basically a motivational event to get people excited about the upcoming walks for upstate NY. The walks are:
Walk to D'Feet ALS® Buffalo - Saturday, August 11 at Parkside Lodge, Delaware Park
Lowell Smith Walk to D'Feet ALS® Syracuse - Sunday, August 19 at Gille Lake
Walk to D'Feet ALS® Rochester - Sunday, September 9 at Lake Riley Lodge, Cobb's Hill
Walk to D'Feet ALS® Ithaca - Sunday, September 23 at Cass Park
Walk to D'Feet ALS® Canajoharie - Saturday, October 20 at Canajoharie High School
I've posted an interest thread over on Garrison Excelsior to see if any one would be interested in forming a team for one of the walks. If you guys think you might do anything keep me posted.

I should note that the kick-off party wouldn't be a costumed appearance, but more of a planning session amongst the teams participating in the upcoming walks.

I will be happy to represent us (CORE) at this kick-off party.
I would recommend committing to these walks for us:
Lowell Smith Walk to D'Feet ALS® Syracuse - Sunday, August 19 at Gille Lake
Walk to D'Feet ALS® Ithaca - Sunday, September 23 at Cass Park
And I can commit to this one to represent us. If anyone wants to join me on this, that’s great, but is kind of far.

For Excelsior I will only be planning one event (i.e. picking one city/walk to focus on).
Of the choices I was going in this order of preference:
Walk to D'Feet ALS® Ithaca - Sunday, September 23 at Cass Park
Walk to D'Feet ALS® Rochester - Sunday, September 9 at Lake Riley Lodge, Cobb's Hill
Lowell Smith Walk to D'Feet ALS® Syracuse - Sunday, August 19 at Gille Lake
Walk to D'Feet ALS® Buffalo - Saturday, August 11 at Parkside Lodge, Delaware Park
Walk to D'Feet ALS® Canajoharie - Saturday, October 20 at Canajoharie High School
And really the last two aren't in the running due to dates and distance.

I am only on the Syracuse walk and this is the web site I have made to help with donations.
ALS Syracuse
We could use your help with donations, raising money as a registered team member, or just showing up for moral support.
