Was hanging out with Cole in INDY, on the 16-th
at another Star Wars fan club meeting involving armor.
and am now at the UNION at I.U. in Bloomington as I type this,
will be here another 4 days then back to Chicagoland

Dang Ed, I have Tuesday off work , but Its Sam's Birthday an I have a hole day of stuff to do with him , We could hook up for lunch. Im just not sure when we will do lunch. Do you have a cell phone?
maybe you can call me ( # is in my email sig) and if you dont mind eating with us , maybe we can do lunch ?

well,I think lunch would be just fantastic:-)
So, Let's give it a try. At the very least, we can have some fun trying to do this:-)
I am at I.U. for a week of educational presentations in a class-like structure called
Mini University....so....I kinda have a set schedule....but, I want to be flexible.
so
Here are times I can do.......11:00 to 1-pm for sure, or, that is the time I have
no classes scheduled. Thus, I would still need time from 11-am to get to where ever lunch
may be....and then would like to be back at 1-pm for my next class, but this is where I
get a little more flexible.
Sorry, but I do not have a CELL PHONE,
but,
I do have your cell phone number and can call you from my room at the Union Hotel.
will try to phone you tomorrow around 8:45 am,
If this fails, will try again a little after 11-am
and that's what I'm up to.

another FANTASTIC time with the Hoosier Alliance:-)
The HA is just the best-est!
A whole lot of fun to get together with Eric, Sam and Sara,
even if only for lunch and just a little while.
A nice time to hear some of the C4 stories first hand and
share ideas on where the Hoosier Alliance may be headed next,
and......I believe, that where ever that is......
that the HA will always have a positive outlook for
their future and I am gratefull for the opportunity to contribute
and be a part of it all. No one can be everywhere and do everything,
but it is sure fun to try and this time we made it happen.

well, have made it back to chicagoland,
had a blast in Bloomington and on the IU campus,
did not run into Cole during the week....wonder
what he was up to, but did come accrose a trooper
friend of ours, Bart, in the IU book store, which I
learned is being turned into a B&N or a Borders,
I can not remember which.....but there is a lot of
stuff at 50 and 75 per cent off.
Next scheduled (yea, like I have a schedule)
I mean the next time I hope to be there is
homecomming weekend in the fall.....but ya just never know:-)

In other news,
I am currently trying to buy a new camera,
ok, so it has been a while.
Already I am in trouble and am returning my first choice.
It was costly,
Yes, it had a 3-inch LCD on it to view your picture once taken,
BUT
I really wanted a camera with an LCD that you could use as
a ViewFinder and also a monitor.
ok, back to the store I go today.....geesshhh....

Well, I can see in my last post I talked of a camera,
which the new one worked pretty well for the
Endor Forrest Moon hike.
In other news, I will be at the Museum of Science and Industry,
support STAR WARS again this Sunday 4 to 8 pm.
The part about this event that gets me, is something that
Cole the R2 maker might be interested in
because of his interest in
or building R2 units.
Not since C2 or C3, will there be so many,
I am being told that 3 or 4 could be there.
oh, also, Cole....got your pm a-ok:-)
Hope to have forrest moon hike photos of note posted soon

Just realized, I have yet to post any of the HIKE photo-s I have.
That CD is at home, but I will put it into my case and try to
get one or two into my photobucket to post on the hike thread.
but for now,
here is a photo from the Star Wars exhibit/event.
up here in Chicago
It will be here until January 8-th before going to the TWIN CITIES,
and over seas I think.

and yes, I am still looking for that caving book about Indiana,
and yes, I am really not happy I have not found it...it is driving me nuts!
BUT

The Little 500 weekend.
That is,
April 9, 10, 11, 12, for sure:-)
just a heads up.
also have plans for May, but more on those later,

Except for Race times,
and
for maybe an event on 4-9-08,
I plan on being available for most anything,
except actually caving (sorry guys, maybe in May when I am planning to visit again)
my time is flexable other wise.
In May, I am planning on the Book Signing, and then
will be visiting IU and the Bloomington area the weekend following
the book signing.
and then in June,
I will be down there again for a week,
but the exact times are too far in the future at this time,
and then in Aug.......ok, just messing with ya on this,
there are no plans after June at this time:-)

I think it would be great to see Ed, but let me process this completely first though. You want to have a HA meeting. Downtown. On Kirkwood. On Little 500 weekend. One of the busiest weekends in the year for Bloomington, and in one of the busiest sections of town. And, we will want to go out for dinner afterwards. On one of the busiest nights for restaurants/bars of the year. And since we won't know how many people are going to want to go to dinner, we can't make a reservation anywhere until that night.
I'm not trying to be rude here, but to borrow a phrase from Ultraviolet, are you mental? My general rule for Little 500 weekend has always been stay as far, far, far away from it as possible. I know we had our meeting last year on Little 500 weekend, but that at least was at Avalon on the far side of town. This meeting will theoretically be at the Game Preserve, smack in the middle of downtown.
I think if some of us want to get together with Ed and hang out (either at someone's house or at a restaurant), that would be great, but perhaps the official meeting should be on one of the other weekends so we don't have to hold it on one of the busiest nights of the year in Bloomington. Just my thoughts.

and so, with some apologies for me being a wacky-geeky-nerdy-old type of STAR WARS fan,
I offer this information, based on
1.) my memory (be afraid, be very afraid 
2.) much google searching (for IU/Little 500 info)
3.) Endless researching and trusting the posts on these HA Boards.
AND THUS,
April 20, 2005 An HA meeting held on a Wednesday night,
I and others missed this due to our lives revolving around C3
NOTE: my first HA meeting was 5-13-05, I think:-)
then
April 22, 2006 HA meeting (and mens Little 500)
April 21, 2007 HA meeting (and mens Little 500), I was pretty sick at this one.
Unless, I miss my guess, traffic and parties in and around the area are a concern,
but I do not remember them causing us much of a problem in parking or eating,
tho
I have not been to the new location.
