Well, since plans started happening for Friday night, I went ahead and booked stuff for Sunday, so sorry, looks like I'm out then too.
Also, hate to say it, but something personal has come up and I won't be able to make it to the meeting next Saturday night. Perhaps someone else with a laptop can record the meeting; if I know who I can get the recording from them and post it. Whoever it is can just email me and we'll work out the details.

Jill and I are going to go sometime on Friday night to see the movie. We are unsure of the time as it depends on what time she gets off of work - it will probably be around 7pm. Eric, I will let you know more when I know more.

A&E had a WOUNDERFUL special on Sunday night called The Secrets of Harry Potter.
It really did a great job as a companion piece to the first 5 books and gave me some new insights to clues and such that I dint pick up in the first 4 that I dint catch even thought I have watch each four at least 3 times in the last 3 weeks  . You can imagine what Tammy says to me when I put in a HP movie now. I begun GOF on CD last night and will finish it today at work with the help of my iPod. I am so excited to see OOTP , I listion to a HP podcast lastnight and they said the OOTP dosent go along with the book very much. Im going to wait until next week to listion to it.

It really doesn't, so people who are really hardcore cannon addicts will have rather a lot to complain about. It is a good movie though, with a different feel than the other films beause it's the start of the new war.
A really amazing HP podcast is MuggleCast, run by people who work for the massive fansite MuggleNet.

I thought it rather paled in comparrison to the book, and that the writers need to be shot for the hole they've dug themselves into. There were so many things left out that tie into Half-Blood Prince and, from what JKR has said in interviews in the like, Deathly Hallows as well. I mean, really, would it have killed them to have 30 seconds of Sirius giving Harry the two-way mirror at Christmas? Sigh.
The directing was lovely, but I really hope they get some new screenwriters for HBP; it's the plottiest of the series so far, and I swear I'll do a fangirl scream if they mess up that ending.

Im going to start reading the book Monday, talk about not putting plot lines into a movie that was in the book... Dont get me started on Goblit of Fire. Like it would have killed them to shorten the crap dance seqence. I hate that hole 30 min!

As far as I know, JK Rowling has the final word of approval on scripts for the films; so, whatever adaptation they came up with, she must have OK'd it. Whatever is "missing" from the film probably won't be vital to the film incarnations of the next two books.
