This makes me happy. Of all the crap he inserted into the SEs, this was always the most troubling.

I will only be happy if/when he changes that scene back. It is my favorite scene after all
BTW, some of the comments about the article are REALLY funny

Pretty funny stuff. I agree though, HSF. I understand his thoughts on doing this (placating, hyper, concerned parent groups), especially in the anti-gun frenzy that gripped the 90's. But all it did was minimize Han's transition from scum/villainy (yes that includes smugglers too) to hero. At times I really wish the U.S. wasn't as pansified (my apologies to pansies, they really are lovely flowers) as it is.... must... resist... rant... ok, better now (not really). Perhaps a sign of things to come

Personally, I'm OK with George tweaking these movies as long as he's alive. We'll always have the originals(in stereo at least). Gimme an Extra Special Edition. Make Jabba actually look good in Episode 4. Reinsert Lepti Nek into Jedi! Don't get me wrongo, I love some of the additions, but much of it still makes me cringe. When in doubt, blame Rick McCallum.

I'm still P.O.'d about Boba Fett's voice. That is really the only other tweak that drives me nuts, but I won't go into it.

Funny enough, I have the full list of changes in my August meeting notes ready for discussion.

I think my all-time favorite change is the "Blast it Biggs/Wedge, where are you?" line, just because of how many times it's been changed. The theatrical version said Biggs, but the televised version was changed to Wedge. Then the VHS version goes back to Biggs, only to have the special edition go back to Wedge. Finally, the latest DVD versions say Biggs again.
