One other thought, if Eric will need $7 for meat and we'll all need to pitch in other food and stuff, we might want to reconsider pizza as a option. From a cost standpoint, if I give Eric $7 for meat and spend $3 on bringing a side dish, I've just spent $10 which would buy a whole medium pizza with breadsticks and two drinks (from Aver's).

I'm definitely not saying that Eric's grilled meats and pitched-in side items aren't worth it (far from it!), but cost wise I'm thinking it would possibly be more economical to just get pizza, since if everybody chipped in $5 we could probably get good pizza from Bucceto's with breadsticks and the only other thing we'd need would be drinks. Just a thought.

Well last time we had a cook out I spent $73.00 on food and only got 40 back from everyone chipping in 5.00 if I buy the meat and everyone else takes care of the rest , then sure 5.00 will be enough.

For myself, to reemphasize I don't mind at all paying $7. I was just asking what you were planning on providing for said $7 so I would know whether or not I would need to bring anything else. If I pay you $7 and get pretty much get a full meal out of it, great!

But if it is going to cost everybody $5 anyway plus the cost of bringing sides as well, perhaps it would just be simpler to get pizza. I would be willing to facilitate getting and bringing them if that's what people want. By my estimate one large pizza costs around $20 and will feed 4, so $5 a person would suffice.

Its all the same to me , Tammy made me aware that everytime we do a cookout , I (we) usually end up spending around $20 dollars wile everyone else spends $5.00 . I only ask for $7.00 because Kroger and Marsh almost always charge $4.00 a LB or more unless u find it on sale. This week it is on sale for $1.87 LB . Now If everybody wants me to I can go and get it, put it in the freezer until the meeting. Its no big deal. I don't mind cooking and I certainly don't mind ordering Baucheta's.

Honestly I don't care, I'd rather do cook out than pizza but if pizza is going to be cheaper and easier for you than that's fine Eric. peace

No worries. I just got burgers & chicken legs. I spent $13.00 , now how about I sting for the meat and everybody else just spend how ever much u like. I'm sure Casey won't have everything else we will need like buns, cheese, chips, etc so I'll leave that up to all of u. If u don't want to mess with the store then you can pitch in a buck or two for the meat. Sound good?

Sorry for coming in so late here. Personally, I'd opt for pizza. I love nothing more than BBQ'd burgers (it really is my all-time favorite food), but given that it's going to be a pretty eventful night, throwing BBQing into the mix makes it chaotic. I mean, a full meeting / podcast plus Two Towers will make for a long time as it is. Plus, pizza is simple, will save a lot of time, it's relatively cheap and self-contained. There's no charcoal, cooking, chips, buns, ketchup, mustard, lettuce, pickles, cheese or smoke alarms to worry about.

All you need for pizza is a phone, breadsticks, pop and paper plates.

Just my two cents.

That's fine with me, and since Casey is the host I think we should do what he wants.

If that's the road we're going, we'll just need to know toppings and such. Of course, we could wait till then and talk it out, but if we can decide in advance I can call in the order and bring the pizzas with me (or Eric can, but I've no trouble volunteering). Also that way (if we order from Bucceto's) no one will have to leave the gathering to drive to one of the locations to get the pizza (since they don't deliver to Casey's house).

I will be there since I will not be able to stay in Elkhart that weekend. I think it would be easiest to decide on toppings at Casey's so we know exactly how many people will be there and how much money is available. If we are starting the meeting a little early, we could decide on toppings first (prior to recording the podcast), we could have someone order when the meeting is nearly doen (does Buccetos have online ordering?), and then it should be ready to pick-up shortly after the meeting is over.

Yeah, the more I've been thinking about this the more I come to the conclusion that there's no way we could decide on the toppings here on the boards; I'm not even sure how many people in the group have even viewed this thread.

Bucceto's doesn't have online ordering, unfortunately, but we could call the order in with a specifically requested pick up time (as long as that time is far enough away, say at least an hour).

As my alma motto dictates, let's just 'go with the flow'. Nothin' to fret about. We'll get food in our faces one way or another.

Looking forward to having you all over!
