Well, in case any of you don't know (I think I already told the IRC people this), but I joined up with the Civil Air Patrol back in November. I bring this up because I just got promoted!

It was actually kinda scary; we were in closing formation, where the squadron commander addresses us and hands out promotions, citations and such, and I hear, "cadet [insert my last name here], report in to the Major." I was actually shaking as I fell out and walked up. I saluted, did the whole reporting thing that my flight sergeant taught me, and the Major salutes me back, smiles, and congratulates me on my promotion. I was smiling all the way back home.

So, I'm an Airman now. It's basically like getting promoted from the first grade of Private to the second, but now that I've got the ball rolling, I'll have Sergeant's chevrons before the year is out.

While reading that post, I had weird "Congratulations! You have leveled up!" images flashing through my mind.

Actually, I'm more interested in the ground aspect of things; not much flying to do in the Army.

EDIT: And thank you, LI. Funnily enough, I did have visions of the "YOU HAVE BEEN PROMOTED" message from Call of Duty 4's multiplayer going through my head.

Bly, I'd say "congratulations," but everyone else is doing that, and I'm a rebel. So instead, I'm gonna shake up the status quo and just think it instead.

The Chaser's infamous security stunt was awesome. It's just that clip is Gamorrean.

The Chasers were good before they became popular. Now that everyone simply adores them, I find them to be utterly abhorrent.

I saw them live in May, it was very funny.
