STAR WARS: DARK TIMES—FIRE CARRIER #1Jedi Master K’Kruhk is on the run with a group of young Padawans. In a galaxy suddenly hunting Jedi, they are forced to land on an Imperial-run planet, hiding in the refugee camp, among other beings who were displaced by the Clone Wars. But K’Kruhk senses there is something wrong!* Is K’Kruhk the last hope for the Jedi Order?* On the run from Vader!
Star Wars needs a version of the Once upon a time Mad Hatter to outfit people with magical HATs... best customers so far: Kkruhk and Embo!
A day before release and no preview? Really? I wanted to see how Gabriel Guzman works out following Wheatley.
I saw the preview a few weeks ago, but for the life of me can't find it anywhere. Basically K'Kruhk rocked up above an Imperial world and had his shuttle shot down, landing in tall grass. Edit: I found this other preview image on the artist's DeviantArt. Second Edit: Edit 3: Here it is in its entirety: http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=42779
From that preview article: "I've seen writers (myself included) who have felt constrained to replay or replicate the events in the films," he continued. "But once you get past that, you realize that 'Star Wars' offers you unlimited freedom." -Randy Stradley, on writing Star Wars. Can't agree more.
So long as LFL weren't insisting that DH make Vader look like a chump to balance out his recent awesomeness in Ghost Prison. Because I can imagine such a conversation about how we can't have the bad guy winning two arcs in a row.
Shouldn't this be stickied? I read it today. A nice little continuity bombardment in this issue, mostly referencing the Darth Vader and Purge stories and possibly TFU, though it could have been a reference to DL:TRODV. (Battle of Kashyyyk) Anyway, Zao is back and still awesome!
Just read it and I love it! 23 issues of Dark Times thus far and none have disappointed me yet. Hope it stays that way. Can't wait for Fire Carrier 2!
The moment Zao started his little trick I knew what it was a reference to. Always good to see a Acts of War reference.
Not really, it takes part a few months after ROTS. Yep digital download was made available yesterday. Amazing issue just way to short, I especially love how the other Vader events (like Ghost Prison) are mentioned and how it shows actual living troopers that fought against the Seps, though I already have a guess what is actually happening to the refugees, but let’s wait and see.
Not a bad opening issue. It's nice to see a familiar face we haven't seen since... Republic, I think? Whichever issue also had Sahdett standing on that pile of dead troopers. While part of me is sad we don't have Wheatley drawing this one (which means the issues will probably come out on schedule ) the artist hear does a good job. I especially like Guzman's Vader. Well done.
Also, and this might interest @, the issue of the Imperial Palace seems to be addressed in this issue, with talk of a new palace being built in the wake of the bombings from Ghost Prison. I'm guessing this will end up being the Presidential Palace, possibly retrofitted and expanded from its pre-Empire state.
Very cool that there's some crossover. For whatever reason, the Vader comics and Dark Times have seemed a bit separated.
