Out today, but I couldn't find a thread for it. Preview.
Hmm. Star Wars, you say.
Quick thoughts after flipping through it
Leia watching that Alderaan Tourist commercial is really a downer
Awesome TIE vs X-Wing action, even if just simulated
Lord Tion is mentioned as former commander of the Devastator
Interesting Bircher is a TIE pilot, commands an Elite Interceptor wing
Nice pilot roster, including a Trandoshan Ex Separatist and an Imperial defector
TFAW.com had some sort of issue with this comic, and didn't get their order - said I would have to wait until next week. My local comic shop isn't stocking it and wasn't interested in getting it for me. The drive to the other comic shop is a PITA. Should it really be this hard to read a comic?
Any good shots of the Rebel Fleet?
That's way too perfect.
Let that be a lesson to you, kids: obsessive persistence pays off.
Where is the Galactica?
Well, if that were the case, I would of had my long sought for Ackbar vs. Pellaeon novel at one point in the last decade.
But yeah, great shot of the Rebel Fleet. I could derail the thre further by discussing the various classes of ships in that image (and several are new), but I already have a thread for that.
FLEET JUNKIES HO!
Properly hiding behind that massive Mon Cal Cruiser.
Great issue. D'Anda is starting to become one of my fave artists, he draws the best tech since John Nadeau. Wood's writing is fantastic. I'm liking his slow pace setting everything up. Hopefully Boba will show up again later and Bossk should too, Hound's Tooth is on the cover and Wood says he likes Bossk.
Does anyone else think that Leia's face on the cover is a little scary?
*waits for the unavoidable Jello comment about how Leia always looks scary and is one of the worst anarchists and criminals in history*
Anyone else notice they say that TIE Interceptors come from Kuat? Did I miss something that in that they produce Sienar designs as well? Stupid error or could it be like the EGTW says in that companies had leased out their capital ships designs to other shipyards? I guess it could mean they were just stationed there too, but to me the context implied built there.
Also is this the first mention of an Alderaanian Senate, instead of the High Council or an aristocratic Alderaanian Parliament?
IIRC, it has always been known that Alderaan had a representative government & assembly. This is just the first confirmation that their assembly of representatives was called a senate.
Sienar has been mentioned as having factories and design labs all over the galaxy so imho not really a problem.
Maybe they have something like a House of Commons and a House of Lords, all headed by a monarch. It would sure explain a lot to me at least.
No problem in my book either, but I just find it odd they go out of their way to mention Lord Tion, but mess that up
Don't really think they messed up, they even mentioned Lianna in Issue 1 but just because it is the Sienar Homeworld it really doesn’t mean they have to design/test Prototypes there exclusively. The Defender for example was partially developed on Corulag.
Yup very reasonable, there certainly is existing precedent for that to occur
Man, these first two issues are awesome. I can't wait for the third one. By the way, after the 6th issue do they go straight into the 7th one or are they taking a break? I hope that this is on going.
From what we heard it should be ongoing monthly so issue 7 about a month after 6.
This issue has a Chalactan in it, the first of my knowledge outside of Depa Billaba and her retconned sister. Cool!
