A spark in a grass field leads to the death of a wonderful human being, professor Mary Ellen Ryder, my favorite college professor at BSU, teacher of linguistics.

The horrible house fires that rocked the foothills last night claimed only one life, and it was hers. I'm a bit shook up about this and had to get my feelings out on the page. BSU has lost a wonderful and caring teacher who loved her work. Thanks to the LDS church for helping many of the people left homeless last night.

This is really just such tragic news...

I just heard about the whole incident at work today. Crazy to think that things can happen like that so quickly and be so tragic. I mean that neighborhood only has two ways in and out. it could have been alot worse.

Kasey sorry to hear about the loss you are feeling. My prayers are with you.

Thanks Eric. Yeah, she was an awesome teacher. I remember when I heard a professor had been killed and I instantly though, "oh, I hope it wasn't Mary-Ellen..."

Sucks.
