Mission: "Wow. What are the chances of that happening?"
Canderous: "Remember, we're talking about the Force here. At this point, Malak himself could drop out of the sky, and I wouldn't bat an eyelash

I'm going to the 7pm at Majestic with my family. My Mom has a tradition of going to the first showing of every Star Terk film, and I want to go with her.

Some like to think the death of the Emperor led to a post-defeat-of-Sauron-like vulnerability in the troops.
We prefer to think that Ewoks kick butt.

I will be there around 9ish. That's almost an hour early and plenty of time for seat saving, etc. So far the film has been getting stellar reviews. Even the "negative" reviews have been mostly positive. Ebert gave it 2 1/2 stars, which isn't great but isn't bad either. Rotten Tomatoes has the film at 94% positive. This could be the best ST in a long time...
Oh, and I'm wearing my SW clothing with pride! grin

LoL good thing it is an alternate universe! I did enjoy the film i always did like Infinities. It is cool to have the Idea that the star trek universe can be re written.

I look forward to the next movie.

here is a movie goof

Spoiler Alert

Drag mouse over the black to read.

After Spock boards the Vulcan ship on board the mining vessel, Kirk is seen walking through some pipes. His Starfleet phaser has switched to a Romulan gun (longer barrel and no lights), before switching back to the Starfleet one again in the next scene. He actually acquires the Romulan gun a few scenes later.

Stunning developments in that film. Glad they are fast tracking the sequel with the same writers, cast and director.

BTW nothing wrong with being a Trek fan when they put out A HIGH QUALITY movie for a change.

I agree. Just talked to Dan and both he and his Mom, who is a huge Trekkie enjoyed and approved of the film.
I've been considering picking up the OS on BR with the improved effects. It's a pricy nugget though so I'm probably going to have to wait awhile.

I'm also going to see this new film in IMAX at least once. Should probably be going to take Mom for mothers day to see it, but we'll probably see it on the regular.
Just a shout out to those who might want to see it again right away.

We didn't get it in IMAX here. They chose Night at the Museum 2 over it. I am going again tonight.
