What: National Star Wars Convention
Where: The Summit (Niagara Falls)\
When: Satutrday Aug 2 and Sunday Aug 3
Time: 10a-9p (Sat) 11a-5p (Sun) Signings both days from 11-5
I have sent an invite to GE and cross posted some of the information on both forums.
Please read the post carefully as there is a lot of information to pass on.
Here are the details:
Appearing in Niagara Falls, NY on August 2 -3 is Dave Prowse, Jeremy Bulloch, and Felix Silla (The Big 3). They will be joined by local sports icons as well as some wrestlers and small celebs. I wish I could share who they are, but I myself do not know yet. There will be a DJ, a Martial Arts school performing a choreographed sword fight, and a metal band playing later on in the day.
Hours of the con are as follows:
Saturday 10am -9pm
Sunday 11am - 5pm
Signings are from 11-5 each day.
Tickets
While we are able to appear, we DO NOT have comped tickets and must pay if we wish to participate. There are 3500 tickets being sold for the event and a handful are reserved for us to purchase.
Your ticket gets you admission to both days of the con.
Appearance
There is a large room for us to change in and store our gear. A food court is nearby to eat if we get hungry. As of right now, we have 1 table to use to pass out flyers and hang the NR and GE banners. We can pose for pictures and request a donation and are free to mingle and walk around the con as well. If you wish to shop from the vendors (there will be a few), you may do so as well.
There is a request for helmeted characters (specifically TKs) and I have been asked to keep the number of non-helmeted characters to a minimum. We will have to use costumed characters for pictures and to work the table as well. I was asked to have all participants in costume.
I requested some time to present the guests with some gifts to honor their visit to the area. I will make sure there is enough time for both NR and GE to present to the guests.
UPDATE
We will arrive at 9:30 and get changed in the back of Omega Sports. We will then wait until the guests enter and escort them to their tables at 11am. Mindy will be coming to work the table and will need a hand getting set up before they open the doors.
Things are still being finalized, but it looks like we'll be mingling, posing for pictures, possibly standing guard while the guests sign autographs.

I found out today that the World's Strongest Man will be in attendance as well as a Jedi from Ep III.

It sounds like the tickets are sold out. That's what I overheard the other night at the store.
I found out that they will open the doors to the con at 10am. Signings will start at 11.
I was hoping to have everything set for our plans, but was asked to get in touch Wednesday evening to finalize everything. Keep an eye on your email and the forums Thursday morning.
