The montage where Anakin and Padme stare out their windows with no dialogue is gripping.

Order 66 was very moving, but I voted Other for the part where Obi-Wan tells Padme that he has to kill Anakin. The end of that scene, when he says "Anakin is the father, isn't he?"...that was the most powerful moment of the prequels for me, and great music there too.

Probably my favourite ever Obi-Wan moment too. When he says "I'm so sorry", it has so many meanings: sorry that Padme's children will grow up without a father, sorry that he has to kill Anakin, sorry that Anakin and Padme kept this secret for so long, sorry that he made them feel like they had to in the first place, sorry Anakin had committed so many crimes. But above all Obi is sorry that his own personal failure has led to such misery, and that he has to live with that guilt for the rest of his life.

Where is the "Padme's Funeral because Jar Jar was still alive" option?

Order 66 (the murder of the innocent younglings brought tears to my eyes) followed closely by the immolation scene (which I also cried at, but the former was worse).

I think the scene that brought the entire movie together for me was when Anakin shed that tear after cleaning out the Separatists. Just that moment, with the music bringing out the emotion of it all. It worked, I have to hand it to Lucas for coming up with it.

I picked Yoda's departure not necessarily because it was the saddest scene, but because it was the most moving (different things, I know, but I wasn't particularly depressed by the other scenes). It's a great little moment between newfound friends before the plunge into the climax of the film.

RE: .........yes.. as he burns him alive slowly. Very kind and Jedi of him. ANAKIN IS the chosen one, Lucas says this a billion times.. it is only the prophecy that gets confused because the Jedi have become darkened "the darkside clouds EVERYTHING..."

I would pick the Immolation because I could NOT believe my eyes.
It was shocking to see someone who is supposed to be GOOD and forgiving (Obi) LET the one they are responsible for, their old padawan, that they SAY they loved like a "brother", look up to them totally volnerable without any way of fighting... just lay there and wait for death.
Anakin looks up to him in such PAIN with no legs.. scratching for life and in TEARS, probably with his life flashing before his eyes, his awareness that he will die without Padme, without his child, without any more to live for.... THAT is why he screams "I HATE you!!" And personally THAT line gets me the worst in all the scenes in the film. It brings it all together.. that the Jedi really did get mixed up and order/balance needed to be brought.. they are all somewhat GRAY and this is why Anakin is born.. a terrible fate to have to learn the good and the bad.. yin and yang.. but this moment is the clincher.

I just am shocked still when I watch it. In reality these things have actually happened. And it is hard not to remember that when I watch...

Without asking Anakin to EXPLAIN what has happened.. what Sidious has told him, why he has done these things, why he wants that power (to save padme and his child)... he only asks him these simplistic questions and does not seem to care about the DEPTH of what is HAPPENING!! Anakin begs "DONT make me kill you" Yet Obiwan is the FIRST to bring his saber OUT. I shiver when he does that as Anakins back is turned. sad

I just.. I am reminded of those that burned others alive in real life without asking them about what they do or why or anything that could save them. Just burn them because you are afraid of them and watch them burn as you cry for your own self??
For your sadness that this had to happen??
It did not have to happen... YOU made it happen. angry

Anakin would have told Obiwan as he told PADME that his plan was to learn the powers, SAVE her and the baby, SAVE the galaxy from a corrupt leader and SITH, save and fix everything just like he always tries to do... and then as he told her to KILL THE SITH. cry
..........hello????????........ DID anyone at all hear that part????
Anakin was overconfident.. he thought he could KILL the sith and TRICK him... when in the end the sith knew that if anakin turned on the Jedi that the Jedi would come after him...

.......but seeing that Obiwan did it though blows me away. shock

And if Padme had woken up and seen this....... watched obiwan let Anakin slowly slip into the lava with no legs helpless and scratching... without an INCH of faith in the boy... WOW. She would scream I hate you as well.
Anakin finally begins to truly hate Jedi RIGHT THEN because of Obiwan... thanks obi. beatup

Ani still continues his plan thank god.. to kill Sidious..
,,,,he tells Luke some 20 years later that he still wants to destroy the sith and rule. raised_brow
This time as "father and son". THAT is patience. worried THAT is keeping a promise to a wife that died as you burned at the stake.

Sorry for going on... I just get so totally infuriated watching that scene. I waited 20 years since I was 6 to find out what happened to Anakin why he was crippled like that as Vader... why a man of great FAITH would ever become a SLAVE to a sith that he hates and wants to destroy as he tells his son.... I just did not get it. confused
AND I wondered what went on between him and Obiwan that he would sniff him out and come to kill him so Quick talking about Masters and learners...

READ RETURN OF THE JEDI THE BOOK... it there you hear Obiwan tell LUKE something........ When Luke is talking to Obiwan about "WHY didn't you tell me... and a certain point of view??"
Obiwan says in the BOOK this..............
"What happened to your father is my fault.. the Galaxy paid a HIGH price for my Pride" ~~~END QUOTE

angry

I think that Quote says it ALL..... thanks Lucas for THAT QUOTE!!

I'd say the Mustafar landing platform, because at that point you know that there's no further hope for any kind of resolution that won't end in misery. Granted, we all knew that it was going to get bad in this one before we ever walked into the theater, but even a pessimist like me didn't know how bad everything was going to go.

Order 66. Everyone knew it had to happen, but with the music and everything--it was just heart-wrenching.

The end almost killed me, too. To see all the characters in their "starting positions" for ANH, to know that it was the last SW scene ever. It hurt.
