Jurtle posted: Mongol. Don't know why...
Here's why, The Mongols changed the way armies ran. Generals were not of royal blood. They had to earn the rank by success. That made thier armies unstopable because the troops would willing give thier live following thier leaders, no one ever ran away. The Mongols also never killed or destroyed anything to do with religon. They knew that it would give thier enimes the right to a holy war. The great wall of china was no problem they simply went around it. Then faced with the impenitrable walls of the chinise capital. They blockaded the city and let them starve.
To top it of the only thing that defeted the Mongols was the Mongols themselves. When Genghis Khan died of old age, the Mongols had conquer all of Asia and half of Europe. That's when they stop, when back home to find out who would lead them.

Though I do prefer Egypt and Greece as far more interesting civilizations.

I was actually serious, 'cause I don't have a clue. Can anybody help me out?
Is it an empire, or a "civilisation" as I see one person refer to it...?

I voted Austrian, because (mistake me if I am wrong) it was that Empire that Charles 'The Hammer' Martel was a leader of, who halted the filty invading horde barbarian Muslim army at the Gates of Vienna and SAVED Europe from Dhimmitude.

Tyi, I've always heard Egypt referred to as a civilixation rather than an empire.
And Martel and Austria sounds right.
