I was spoiler-free until I got it in my hands, but then I checked the last page to see who survived.

I was mostly spoiler-free, despite knowing a few vague things such as which characters would be important, most of it was really unknown territory. I really liked it

yankee8255 posted: Option 2. I was 99.9999999% spoiler free. It wasn't a person who spoiled me, though -- I was reading an article on the spoilers in a newspaper (Germany's "Bild", a tabloid rag if ever there was one, I should have known better ) . I started reading the article, which started out being about describing what the spoiler source looked like and speculation as to where it could have come from. Unfortunately, without warning, they just spurted out the big one
Pulsies Edit: highlighted spoiler removed by request
I've now realized that htr spoilers are allowed here, or, to put it more directly, that I'm an idiot. The spoiler I heard was what most consider the big one, Harry lives. To be honest, I didn't think it such a big deal, as I was pretty sure he would survive. You could argue that knowing took away from the experience when he's walking to the woods to let VD kill him, but not really -- it was even more suspenseful wondering how he would get out of that jam, especially with all the Death Eaters around.
EDIT: I just went back and read the whole article (I had stopped as soon as I got to the one spoiler). The bitter irony: that was the only spoiler in the whole dang article.

A perfect world: a house in the Hamptons with two solaria and a horse named Prickely Pete, Dr. van Nostrand as my primary care physician, the O-OT legally available on DVD in a quality worthy of its greatness and Luke the undisputed hero of Star Wars

I bought the book and checked the back of the book before reading. Not only that, I read bits out loud until my friends realised what I was saying and got angry with me.

Unlike my experience for the Star Wars prequels, other than the title, I knew absolutely nothing about The Deathly Hallows. And I must say, it was so worth it.

I read some of the key-facts on various sites before I got the book.

I was 95% spoiler-free. Someone blurted out a key part of the ending on an unreleated website. I wasn't sure whether it was authentic or not, since I'd heard some rumors were proven false. But the one I read was legit.

I got the leaked version on the web and read the major chapters. I'd probably be more upset with myself if the book hadn't turned out to be a major disappointment, IMO
