Clinton with Kennedy trailing in 2nd. Mostly just because of how well Clinton dealt with the economy and actually made us NOT have a national debt.

My vote went to Reagan, but I seriously thought about Truman. The man deserves a lot of credit for steppping in and doing his job so well during the biggest conflict in human history, but...I like ol' Ronald's hair more.

If the President before Mr. Truman were on this poll, I'd vote for him in a heartbeat.
edit: I'm kind of in disbelief that Clinton and Reagan have topped this poll. I expected better of you, JC.

As you can see, Truman and Eisenhower are the only two presidents on this poll that appear in the ranking's top ten. Quite simply, Truman stands head and shoulders above the rest of the poll.

As you can see, the more modern presidents have nothing on those of older days. The only part of the listing I disagree with, would be Nixon's placing. He should be much higher, even Watergate considered.
edit 3: I just realized four consecutive Presidents (including one of the three greatest) occupy very lofty positions in that list. Roosevelt-Truman-Eisenhower-Kennedy. Hell, Johnson's up there, too. Five in a row.

"As you can see?" You're throwing around those lists as though they mean something. While I'll admit that they're often correct, they can also be quite hazy - especially when considering recent Presidents, which is what we are doing. The most obvious problem is that we really don't have a wider perspective: ranking George W. Bush in the mid-range might have made sense (to some) in 2005, but few people right now would rank him that high. Another problem is that recent figures - such as W and Clinton - remain quite divisive. Had you read the article you posted, you would have seen that "Democratic-leaning scholars rated George W. Bush the sixth-worst president of all time, while Republican scholars rated him the sixth-best, giving President George W. Bush a split-decision rating of 'average'". So most current/recent President tend to start off being loved by half and hated by the other half, and their ranking ends up somewhere in the middle. Even Eisenhower ranked 22 on his first go-around. So by those standards, Clinton's ahead of Dwight.

edit: Yeah, I get your point about Clinton and Dubya. That said, I was using the lists to support my backing of Truman. So tell me, why should I vote Clinton instead of Truman? Oh, and please don't say I didn't read the article when I did. K? K.
