Ryu Hayabusa (Ninja Gaiden) vs. Rikku (FF X)
Yeah, too easy.
Winner: Ryu
Xemnas (Kingdom Hearts) vs. Dagger (FF IX) *prepared*
And yeah, gotta agree here. I'm all about teh Dagger, but... no, I'm sorry. Xemnas' speed is absolutely key here. Sora's taken on and defeated some boss-level heartless in the game that seem similar in many ways to what it would be like to fight an Eidolon. Maybe not as powerful (as the top-tier Eidolons, anyways), but similar nonetheless. And when it comes to all the things that allow Sora to be able to hang with creatures like that (the speed, strength, agility, durability, endurance, etc.), Xemnas is straight up superior to the kid. By only a little bit in some areas, but by a lot in others. And even if he's having trouble outright defeating her summons, it's not going to take him long to figure out that beating the girl is what's important. It wouldn't take a genius. And Xemnas is one of the few with the power necessary to last for long time against her summons (if not beat them), and also the speed necessary to be able to be able to ditch the summon for a short while to take on Dagger herself.
And while Dagger can also prep herself to nullify or absorb certain types of damage (for example, I doubt Xemnas' shadow lightning will be doing much to her), against just being straight up skewered, she's sorely lacking. Xemnas is pretty melee-heavy, and that pretty much her weakest area. Prep or no, Dagger's not beating Xemnas by herself.
Winner: Xemnas
Foxhound (Metal Gear) *prepared* vs. KOS-MOS (Xenosaga)
For some reason, this is what popped into my head almost immediately after posting this match. Not much of anything they can do.
Winner: KOS-MOS
Dante (Devil May Cry) vs. Zidane Tribal (FF IX)
Decent match for a while, but...
Winner: Dante
Xigbar (Kingdom Hearts) vs. Mega Man (Mega Man series)
Pretty much what EF said.
Winner: Xigbar
Kratos (God of War) vs. Geddoe (Suikoden) *prepared*
Yeah, Geddoe is good and all, but no, he can't really win this. Yeah, some awesome lightning is headed Kratos' way, but it's not like he hasn't faced awesome lightning before, right? And Geddoe may bring some healing as well, but that's only delaying the outcome. Because as good as G is with a sword, Kratos is just sooo much better with the melee stuff. Too strong, too skilled and he's just faced so much worse and has come out the winner.
Winner: Kratos
Or, I agree.

Apologies 'bout the delay. Even without the standard holiday nonsense and goings on, these last few days have been pretty crazy for me.
But here's this last round, and as it turns out, I've given us a nice little problem. Yay me.
Atari 2600 Conference
The B-Team (6) vs. The Non-De-Scripts (3)
Kings of the Underworld (4) vs. Tupac's Team in '94 (5)
Manson's Real Reality (4) vs. Richard Kopelle and His Therapy Buddys (5)
ColecoVision Conference
Dante! and Friends (5) vs. Wokka Wokka Wokka (4)
The Only Way To Go (9) vs. It's The Thought That Counts (0)
The Fall of Man (6) vs. Rex Inferior (3)
And the problem shall become clear when I call this last number of 1.
Atari 2600 Conference
Zell Dincht (FF VIII) vs. Seymour Guado (FF X)
Vergil (Devil May Cry) vs. Simon Belmont (Castlevania)
Seifer Almasy (FF VIII) *prepared* vs. Roxas (Kingdom Hearts)
ColecoVision Conference
A Frog and a... Robot? (Chrono Trigger) *forfeit* vs. Solid Snake (Metal Gear) *forfeit*
Piastol (Skies of Arcadia) vs. Mushroom Kingdom (Super Mario Bros.)
Dalton (Chrono Trigger) *prepared* vs. Auron (FF X)
*sigh* Gotta love those double-forfeits, eh? So yeah, apologies for that as well to Hamm and JK. My bad. I know exactly how it happened, too. When doing the number order, I was focusing so hard on avoiding a double-forfeit on KotU/Tupac match (*glares at Kiwi and his perpetual need to trump at least twice in EVERY SINGLE ******* **** **** *****-*** ************* MATCH!) that this one just slipped right on past me.
Got pretty much one option left at this point as I see it. I went ahead and did the "math" for how the match would've gone if I'd called the numbers in the proper order, and it looks like teams was more or less inevitavble in this one. So I'm thinking that just sending the match to teams seems like the best way to go. Of course, if anyone else has another suggestion (pretty much Hamm and JK, as it's their match), I'm all ears.
So yeah, if teams is cool with you guys, lemme know. And again, sorry about the mess.

Hey! It's not like I'm doing completely ****** up trumps for the hell of it, they were planned strategies from nearly the beginning of the draft. And I'm sure I mentioned once in the last Games thread about the toipic of restricting the amount of trumping that occurs. At present, I blame Tupac for trumping Sora-Riku just for the extra 3% Sora can't beat on his own.
Geeze. I'm sorry I have the perpetual need to plan strategies that require two two-man trumps, and that my opponent also used two two-man trumps (one of which was nearly excessive), causing enough havoc to cause you to miss a problem in a different match. I apologise. But if there are problems with using multiple trumps, then restrict it and make things more simple.

Well, you could just give me the win, since I have one up on JK...
But then again, that would mean he would still be able to put up that 'you had a lucky draw' crap. And I'd rather just resolve this for good. So...
TEAMS.
So, should I dish out some argument?

Yes, Kiwi, I was truly furious about the whole situation. So much so that I seriously felt the need to type in capital letters and starred-out profanity to express my rage over such an important and crucial matter. And I also must demand that you apologize to me once more, only this time, be more penitent. That, or TASTE MY WRATH ONCE MORE, FOUL PEASANT!
C'mon, dude. I was just messin' with ya.
Zell Dincht (FF VIII) vs. Seymour Guado (FF X)
Yeah...
Winner: Seymour
Vergil (Devil May Cry) vs. Simon Belmont (Castlevania)
Uh-huh...
Winner: Vergil
Seifer Almasy (FF VIII) *prepared* vs. Roxas (Kingdom Hearts)
I'm confident in a prepped Seifer here. With a good GF and magic junctioned to him, Seifer's pretty beast. Skill was pretty close from the start, and Roxas' biggest advantage was speed. But, theoretically, that gap can be closed by Seifer with the proper setup. And his magic power should be much more impressive as well.
Winner: Seifer
Piastol (Skies of Arcadia) vs. Mushroom Kingdom (Super Mario Bros.)
Piastol's better.
Winner: Piastol
Dalton (Chrono Trigger) *prepared* vs. Auron (FF X)
Definitely the toughest match for me. But on looking at some of Dalton's battles... I dunno. It's tough to say that the Golem Boss would be that uber, because we never actually saw was that one (supposedly the best) was capable of. Some of his lesser golem summons were impressive... at the time. Methinks peak Crono and friends would demolish those things that gave them trouble midway through the game. And by his peak, Auron's also faced worse than those things. But not really by himself. Still, Auron's got mad battle experience, and Dalton himself is... not really too impressive as a fighter. Decent, I suppose, but pretty easily taken down by Crono's crew when he has no golems to rely on.
Not a sure thing that Auron can overcome more than one Golem and Dalton himself in a prolonged fight, but then, if there's one thing Auron is familiar with, it's summoners. He's gonna know right away that taking out Dalton ends the fight. And I think he can do just that. just too much skill and strength.
Winner: Auron
