Well, I think Dagger has more than a shot. If I recall, one of the eidolons extracted from Dagger totally destroyed the hidden tree city that the group was taking refuge in. And that wasn't the most powerful one, either. It stands to reason that KOS-MOS, being logical as she is, will go for the eidolon first, and ignore Dagger for a time. During that time, Dagger can up her defenses (if they aren't already) and begin to pepper KOS-MOS with Holy. I don't believe that KOS-MOS will be able to get to Shion before Bahamut and Holy wears her down. I really do think it's too much for KOS-MOS to handle.

Yeah, except KOS-MOS, if I'm not mixing up Xenosaga canons here, took down an entire fleet of Gnosis with pretty much one attack. And this was just shortly after waking up.
And while the Eidolons are powerful, there is nothing to say that KOS couldn't just use her abilities to focus on ALL targets. As that would also seem to be a fairly logical action. Sure it was the X-BUSTER and taking down Gnosis is kind of her thing...but she's still packing many ways to take down multiple opponents. Even if one or two are really powerful. All it takes is for one of the beam spams to hit Dagger and the fight belongs to KOS-MOS. And what is HOLY gonna do to Mary FREAKING Magdalene?

She's not the biblical Mary Magdelene, and if she was, let's not forget that Holy fire from the Ark of the Covenant killed the very people carrying it. The point being (if we are assuming that KOS-MOS has any real connection to a biblical figure, which is, frankly, ridiculous) that Holy damages absolutely.

X might just have this were he prepared, but without that to help him along, he's just not powerful enough to take down Luca. He's got speed to his advantage. Everything else does in Luca's favour.

I didn't say that they weren't compared to them. But to say that they are actually them goes a tad far. Anyway, that's irrelevant to the match at hand. The bottom line is that KOS-MOS is going to have her hands full dealing with the Dagger-Eidolon trump.

Dagger cannot learn Holy. That's the only offensive white magic spell in the game and it's exclusive to Eiko. Dagger's only significant offense is her summons (and obviously they're pretty damned significant)
Just clearing that up.
