GALACTIC RISK
War! The Galaxy Far, Far Away is crumbling under its latest sweeping conflict, but the winner will finally be decided with a game of strategy, diplomacy, and luck: the classical elements of any good war.
The Planets
30 planetary battlegrounds will determine the war's outcome. Long dashes indicate that the planets can reach one another, with the periods there for markup purposes.

The galaxy is divided into six sectors. They are:
Braxant (5) Muunilinst, Dantooine, Ansion, Ord Mantell, Mandalore
Perlemian (5) Yavin, Raxus, Kashyyyk, Mon Calamari, Cadamai
The Core (7) Galantos, Coruscant, Alderaan, Corellia, Malastare, Neimodia, Phu
Mid Rim (5) Denon, Naboo, Mimban, Toydaria, Nar Shaddaa
Death Wind (3) Tatooine, Geonosis, Kamino
Outer Rim (5) Rakata, Endor, Bespin, Hoth, Mustafar
Planet Distribution
As soon as a player signs up, he or she PMs the Game Host (GH) a numbered list, with numbers ranging from 1-30, which shows how much the player wants each planet, 1 being the most desired. The GH will then compare each player's list and assign each planet based on who has it most highly rated. Each player shall receive five planets.
Army Distribution
After a player learns which planets he or she has been assigned, he or she should then distribute 25 armies among the five planets. Players may either post their list or send it to the GH privately, depending on the player's level of paranoia. The only requirement is that each planet needs at least 1 army.
The Turn
After the planets are divided among the players, play begins, going in a random order. Each player follows the following phase cycle, which should all be contained in a single post to be made within 24 hours of the start of the player's turn:
1. Deploy – Units earned from the number of controlled planets, controlled sectors, and Risk cards are to be placed on planets under the player’s control. There is no limit or restriction on his or her placement.
2. Attack – The player publicly declares his or her plan of attack. All planets must have at least two armies on them to launch an attack and all attacks must be launched against adjacent enemies. All attacks must be declared in a single post, but there is no limit to the number of attacks that a player may make. He or she may choose to forego this phase entirely, in which case he or she shall immediately proceed onto phase three.
Combat is conducted in the following way:
a. Player declares attack intention, including location and commitment. Commitment is used to determine how long the attack will continue. For example: Bespin attacks Hoth, three rolls. This means that the game host will resolve the actual battle within three sets of rolls. Battle continues until the number of turns has been spent, the attacking side is incapable of attacking, or the planet has been captured.
b. The GH rolls one die minus one for each attacking army, with up to a maximum of three. If Bespin were to have four armies, it would attack with three dice. If it were to have five armies, it would still attack with three dice. The defender rolls one die for each defender, with up to a maximum of two. The highest attack rolls are compared with the highest defense rolls, with each side destroying one of the enemy’s armies with each victory. Defense wins all draws. For example: Attacker rolls 6, 5, 2. Defender rolls 6, 4. The sixes are tied, and therefore the defense wins. The attacker’s five beats the defender’s four, and therefore the attacker wins. Each side loses one army.
c. Should the attacking force win the entire siege and conquer the planet, the player then posts occupation information. At least one army must remain on the attacking planet, and at least one must occupy the conquered planet. Should the attacking player not post a reply, the GH will evenly divide the forces, with any uneven troops remaining on the conquered planet.
3. Fortify – Armies may be moved within adjacent controlled planets. Armies that attacked during phase two may only move one planet. Those that did not attack may move as many planets as can be seamlessly connected. All planets must have at least one occupying army.
Gaining Armies for Deployment
Receive one army for every two planets owned, with no less than one per turn. Round up.
Players who control entire sectors receive an additional amount equal to the number of planets in the sector.
Players receive one Risk card every turn in which a planet is conquered. The cards shall be sent privately. When one of the following situations occurs, turn in the cards to collect armies at the next deployment phase: three of same type (Jedi, Clone, Droid) or one of each. For each set turned in, the total number of armies received increases. It starts with 4 and then proceeds on to 6, 8, 10, 12, 15. After 15, all card sets increase the army total by 5.
Diplomacy
Players are allowed to, and even encouraged to, coordinate strategy and form temporary alliances, as such play adds an exciting social and strategic element to the game, but there is no team victory. All players will have to channel their inner Sith and turn on their allies eventually, claiming victory for themselves.
Victory
Winning is easy: be the last side left in the galaxy. Unlike the Rebellion, our champion isn't going to leave any enemy remnants behind.

So sign-ups are now officially closed!
As of yet, I have not received either BaSSil's or snowspeeder_gunner's Planet Preference lists. As soon as you two send those in, I'll distribute the planets and we'll move on to the initial deployment phase.
Also: some of you have signed up with the color you would like, while others of you have not. If you all of you could let me know what colors you want, I'd appreciate it.

The planets are hereby distributed! Now, some of your lists were scarily similar, so in a few circumstances I was forced to rely on Lady Luck. One player could have claimed each of the first seven planets on the list, and two others did not even receive their first choice. It's crazy, but I did distribute the planets according to the lists, so no belly-aching!

You're up, RX_Sith. Please post your deployment (you may place 3 additional armies, as that is 1/2 of 5 rounded up) and attack figures in one post, as described in the OP. If you would like to include your fortification numbers in that same post, you're welcome to, but you may also wait to see how your attacks go. If you have questions, or need clarification of something, don't hesitate to ask. That goes for everybody.
Also, in regard to turn length: I won't be too strict on it, but I'd like you guys to strive for the standard 24-hour window. If for some reason you don't show up and its been a couple days, I'll deploy your troops evenly, rolling for any troops that do not divide evenly.
