I enjoy the Hobbit, but TTT kicks the most ass. RotK bores me.

Silmarillion is best. Especially I love Beren's and Luthien's story. Of course every Tolkien book is excellent.

Thank you, I would think it is a tie between The Silmarillion and The Return of the King. (I picked ROTK though).

The Hobbit is my second choice, for it being an old favorite.

The Return of the King got my vote, though the entire Lord of the Rings trilogy is exceptional. Along with the rest of his works, that is.

TTT was the best for me, it almost seemed to easy to overcome adversity in ROTK. I actually enjoyed all of the books but TTT really does it for me

The Silmarillion was my second choice. Excellent book, especially the Flight of the Noldor parts and the last 7 chapters (Ruin of Beleraind and the Fall of Fingolfin, Beren and Luthien, The Fifth Battle, Turin Turambar, The Ruin of Doriath, The Fall of Gondolin and The Voyage of Earendil)

I liked Fellowship... most parts with Elves "go not to the Elves for council, for they will say both no and yes" I'm not sure I got that quote right, but it's like that

Definitely FotR. The Hobbit reads like it was written by a 4 year old. The last two books of the trilogy could have been condensed into one book. And The Silmarillion is way more complicated than it needs to be.

I'd say TTT, though RotK is very close.
