I wanted to put this out there so folks could get it on their calendar.
On Saturday, December 9th TK-2970 and I will be having a Christmas [and other December Holidays] party at our house. We live a short distance to McAdenville aka Christmas Town USA.
We will have a potluck meal and then go to McAdenville to walk thru and see the purdy lights and decorations. I'm thinking that we will gather in the afternoon and eat then and go to McAdenville as it gets dark. People are then welcome to return to our home to have hot chocolate and play board games.
Also, we will have a White Elephant Gift Exchange! 
This will be a "one man's junk is another man's treasure". Christmas season is expensive enough so I don't want to put a financial burden on anyone. 
So, how does it work? Find something in your home that you don't want. Guidelines:
- It can't be broken
- It can't be dirty
- It can't be alive [i.e. a goldfish
 ] . . . or dead [i.e. a goldfish  ]. . . unless it is a stuffed Taun Taun 
- It should be worth at least $5 and no more than $20 . . . unless you really do want to get rid of a duplicate item such as oh, an Imperial Star Destoryer
- It does NOT have to be a Star Wars related item
Rules of the Exchange:
- To participate you must bring a gift
- All the gifts must be wrapped or in an enveloped. You can wrap it in a gift bag
- The number of gifts will be counted. Once the final number is determined each person participating will have a chance to pick a number from a hat.
- Gifts will be chosen in numerical order
- Once a gift is opened it can be stolen by the next person who goes. Meaning, if person #1 opens a gift person #2 thru X can steal it during their turn.
- At the end of the exchange, Person #1 gets the final "steal". They have their choice of whatever gift is out there.
- WYGIWYGAINGW - What You Get Is What You're Given And It's No Good Whining. Or more accurately, what you end up with is what you end up with. It's a fun thing, you know
I'm thinking if we are going to have children maybe we could think of something little to give each of them. You know how kids  gifts.
So please put this on your calendar!

What is the correct date? In the post title it says the 9th, above it says the 14th. I don't remember what date you told me babe...

 I mixed up this past weekend's event with this while I was typing it. 
Correct date is the 9th. The 14th of December is not a Saturday.

If anyone wants to just meet us for the lights in McAdenville here are the directions:
Take I-85 to the McAdenville exit. From South make a Left and from North make a right [if you don't get there before about 5:15pm you won't be able to use the exit].
Go down Main Street to the light and make a left. There is parking on the left or make an immediate right and there is a parking lot up about 1000 yards on the left.
We will meet at 5:30pm at the clock at the bottom of Main Street
