Aloha, kids! This is Pigeon.
Let's talk about books, ya? Can anyone list the major stories (novels and comics) in chronological(sp?) order? Canon only please.
I've been through timetables all over and can't seem to find a good list of what books or stories to get. Thanks for the help.
And while we're at it, how about a review.
I just read "The Rise of Darth Vader". Happy I am. Well written, good plot. I could almost hear Vader's voice.
Who's got a favorite? Tell all -- we're adults, we have a right to know!

Ok, as far as a good chronological order for the books, look in the front part of Timothy Zahn's book Outbound Flight. It's pretty comprehensive going all the way through 6 of the 9 Legacy of the Force books. It even includes all the books that came out between the prequel movies like Shatterpoint, Labyrinth of Evil and even the Republic Commando books. I still have not been able to find a good timeline for the comics. Anyone else have a suggestion? If not I'll keep looking.
Hmmm... favorite books... this is tough. I like all the ones I have read so far. Some more than others but if I had to pick favorites... the Thrawn Trilogy-Heir To The Empire, Dark Force Rising and The Last Command. And I love the Darth Bane series, Path Of Destruction and Rule Of Two. The Darth Bane books are probably my all time favorites. As for favorite comics, I regularly read Star Wars Legacy, Star Wars Dark Times and Star Wars Rebellion and enjoy them very much.
So Pigeon, if you feel up to it you should join our monthly book club. I know you are not local and you can't come to the meetings but you could read the book and then join the online discussions we have about the book. It's just a suggestion. Right now we are reading all of Timothy Zahn's Thrawn books with Allegiance thrown in for good measure. We just read Outbound Flight for February and are starting on Allegiance for March. We are reading these books in chronological order, not release order. So, join us if you feel like it.

I've got a decent source but I'm out the door right now. I'll list it later.

Now THAT is what I was looking for. You rock Jada!!
BTW, are there any stories that tell about what Obi-Wan was doing between Episodes 3 and 4? I'd love to find that.

Yes.
First in the book Dark Lord (the book that occurs immediately after ROTS) and then in the children's series Last of the Jedi. Yes, it is a children's series but I've read quite a few of the books (Young Jedi Knights, LotJ and some others) and they aren't bad.

Just read Dark Lord, there was a bit about Obi-Wan in the epilogue. I was looking for something more in depth, and the "Last of the Jedi" series looks like what I've been looking for.
But, what happened to "The Last One Standing"? -- the first book in the series?
