	January 2006 meeting notes Build-A-Prop Day has been put on hold until sometime after Chattacon. Eelem will get together with a few of us so we can do some "prep work" on some of the materials so that when the group gets together, we can all work on the main parts of the blasters. Chattacon is January 20-22. The 501st are having a table next to our. Their table will be mostly filled with props and whatever else they want to do. Ours will have a sign-up sheet (so we can get some names and e-mail addresses that we can contact after the Con). With that, we'll also have our banner, business cards, and the Obi-Wan (Ben) Kenobi stand-up that Will (lordvenom) got for us. We'll also have a DVD playing that will show a slideshow of pictures from past events we've been a part of. Dallas put together some movies that will also be on the DVD. Eelem is working on a stand to where we can have the banner above the table. This will also help us with not having to find a place to tie the banner to every time. LordJohn will be running a game as well, although that will probably be in the gaming area (check with him for details). Empires Collide is what the warm-up Star Wars vs Star Trek debate is being called to be held at Chattacon on Saturday, January 21st (time TBD). The head of Chattacon is trying to get the Klingon group to have a couple people to be on the Star Trek side while we're hoping a couple of the 501st members will want to take the Star Wars side. If not, we or other attendees can be on the team of their choice. Star Wars vs Star Trek Debate will be on Monday, January 23rd at Books-A-Million on Gunbarrel Road. Sign-ups will start at 6:30pm and the debate will start at 7:30pm. We'll have 3 bowls set up. One for Star Wars, one for Star Trek and one for door prizes only. $1 donation will get your name into whichever bowl you want. When it's time to start the debate, we'll randomly draw 4 names out of the Star Wars bowl and 4 names from the Star Trek bowl to be on the debate "teams". Azreal will have the questions lined up and present them to the two teams with the winners to be determined by the audience (Azreal... correct me if I'm wrong). Prizes will be awarded at the end of the debate to the teams(s) along with door prizes. If this goes well, and the 501st decide to come back to Chattacon next year, we would like to make this an annual event we can hold AT Chattacon. This will help cement our group by being tied to a Con that's been around for 31 years. Jedi/Mandalorian Armor order has been put on hold until after Chattacon. With the 501st coming down, we want to talk with them first and see what we can do with them. Anyone who is interested in armor needs to either let me know or just be at Chattacon to discuss this. In talking with them, they would rather get to know you first before they talk about suiting you up, so keep that in mind. If you'd rather not wait, look up Schuby's ebay store for the Jedi/Mandolorian pieces we were looking at earlier. We've been invited to be in the next Christmas parade at Lookout Valley (like we did this past Christmas) AND also the Red Bank parade. The Red Bank parade is at night and (tentativly) a week before the Lookout Valley parade. Thanks Orion Knight-Star for getting us involved with these great events. DekpaNu is moving to Knoxville and has therefor decided to resign as Secretary. If you would like to run for this position, please sign up on the appropriate thread. We'll have a special election at the February meeting.
