I think the only way to fairly compare the two is to get Carrie Fisher from 1983 and Natalie Portman both wearing the bikini side by side, not only would it be fair, but it'd be a buffet line

For the record, since I'm an old-school OT/CT purist, this hetero female SW fan votes for CARRIE/LEIA all the way!!!! I must admit I envied Padme on Leia's behalf for her more varied wardrobe--its extensive use of color, and the sheer variety of looks--*but not the kabuki makeup*. (I wanted to *be* Princess Leia soooo badly as a kid, ever since I saw ANH wayy back in 6th grade.) Even though the Slave Outfit was a rather crass way of getting Leia out of her boring virginal white rut, it looked very flattering on her. It would have been nice to see Leia in outfits like Padme's alluring black strapless gown or the backless(?) one she wears with the golden bun hair (basically, any of the Naboo gowns she wears in the romantic AOTC scenes w/Anakin). wink

p.s. newbie here--can anyone tell me if there's a 'quote' option on this board so that I can quote other posters w/out the ol cut & paste routine? Thanx.
