Anyone know what art is on the discs? The art on the box is the same as whats on the discs in the 2004 release. I'd be interested to know if the discs had updated Episode III like art.

umm the art on the box is not whats on the disc of the 04 edition....the discs have the orignal posters on them

I meant the art on the 12/05 DVD box is the same as the 2004 DVD discs.

Wait, I'll try to recap: the only changed artwork is on the outer box?

I just dont like his business practices, they are only aimed for the money not for the fans.

he has a family, a company ... electricity bills ... i think he and/or anybody else on this planet is entitle to make money.. and make tones of it if he is smart

these day everybody is praising the PJ and pissing on GL's face; b/c PJ did it for the fans NOT for the money, but for the fans

i heard he payed the production of TESB and TPM entirely out of his own pocket, we call that investment. and i belive it his right to followup on his investment and squize as much as he wants. that being said, though i couldnt care less about O-OT, its a good idea to release them so that the elder and the wiser members of this board will be happy

i love changes being made to the OT, none of them is really a big change .. i want good visual change

Actually, I'm pretty sure he financed TESB, ROTJ, TPM, AOTC and ROTS all out of his own pocket.

Has anyone found any CT easter eggs or bloopers they'd like to mention here?

The only thing I found worth mentioning is a droid in Mos Eisley that is reminiscent of the MagnaGuards in RotS.

I'm not sure if this is the right thread to ask, but i need a screen cap of long shot of Threepio and Chewie's dejarik game if a long shot exists, I can't remember if it does.

Either that or a screencap of them playing dejarik

The new dvds that was released last year are going to be "fixed" in another version

They messed up the lightsaber effects

For some reason there is a red hue during the entire movie

The audio track is reversed

And why in the world if your going to have anakin in ROTJ, does he not have his scar?

I dont get it, it could have to do with the lazyness involved in the caring of the project. Lucas has been known for not doing multiple takes or getting it perfect.

He knows he can do it later, even if it means selling another edition.

The worst thing is that George Lucas is trying to extract money from the fans. He knows that die hard fans will buy anything with the logo on it.

Is it, legal? Oh of course, its in his right.

But its all about the money. Stretch it to the moon.

You know it, I know it. They dont come out with two hour long movies, or really comprehensive docs. They give a piece her and there.

Nothing comes close to the LOTR EE, 4 commentaries, and 2 disks of docs which are very comprehensive.

If he doesnt do it when he is alive.

I say 10-20 years after he passes away, everything will get released.

Not Lucas' fault that the fans rushed him being so impatient constantly complaining about how they wanted their DVDs so soon. Lucas isn't fooling anybody and he isn't TRYING to. If the majority of the fans know there are going to be more versions, then they can wait. Lucas knows the fans know (hell, he said there'd be more versions himself, he's not turning us into mindless zombies). We're not being forced to buy anything, what Lucas is doing is saying "look, you can have these for now to keep you satisfied until I have the time to release the big uber edition everybody's waited for". If you want 'em, buy 'em, if you don't, then don't. happy We asked for them, we got them, and there's more to come. Fans can/could have bought any of them or they could have/could wait. So it's not like we weren't warned.

*sigh*

I can understand folks really wanting to believe what Lucas says, when it comes to the DVD releases. But let's face it, Lucas knows what he is doing. Just like Indy3 said, Mr. Lucas knows we will buy just about anything. A long time ago, I was a Lucas defender as well, but it just became impossible.

He is in it for the money and thats about it. Sorry folks, it's the truth, he is a business man, first and foremost. And he just wants to see how many versions of the same film we will buy. I mean REALLY step back and think about it. How many other films do you own a half dozen copies of? It's pathetic really that there is always something wrong with each release and we are 'forced' to purchase another version. I for one am done purchase the DVDs until I get the O-OT the way it is SUPPOSE to be, not this non-anamorphic junk Lucas is releasing. I doubt I will ever purchase the PT again on DVD, and the only way I am getting the OT on DVD is if they either fix all the ridiculous mistakes of the last release or give me the O-OT in a watchable format.

That's what it seems. Digital-Bits is reporting that they have confirmed its going to be a non-anamorphic release from the '93 laserdisc.

no, what is pathetic is the fact that people feel as if they are obligated to buy every version released

so how about instead of us all complaining about every single release out there, we buy which one we want and shut up

I agree...only problem is the release I want, I am not going to get. That's why I put the word 'forced' with quotes around it. Nobody is sticking a gun to our heads but in order to get Star Wars on DVD we HAD to by the crap version from 2004.
