	Hello everyone... Imagine if you will that the prequel trilogy was the first trilogy released... meaning after 3, everyone would be shocked and awaiting as to what happens next... given the film of A New Hope... how would their marketing push be? Also, I've been thinking about keeping my editing bay warm by cutting a trailer for IV, as if 1-3 were out first. Any ideas? I have a good idea of the beginning... showing snippits of Anakin in 1, and 2... and then show that there was no hope until Luke, or something... also, using only PT music, since, of course, Johnny would be scoring it still at the time of release. 	That is a very cool idea. I would wait until EpIII is out, though. The main focus of the trailer would be on Vader, Obi-Wan and the droids(since ANH is their big movie), I think. Luke and Leia also, of course. Don't show too much of the duel, just Obi and Vader standing there, looking at eachother. A few suggestions

	I think these lines would be cool trailer lines: Threepio: There'll be no escape for the princess this time. Vader: You are part of the Rebel Alliance and a traitor! Luke: I want to learn the ways of the Force and become a Jedi like my father. Motti: This station is now the ultimate power in the universe - I suggest we use it. Vader: The Force is strong with this one. Just a few ideas, I know there are loads more. I think the trailer could end with Obi-Wan igniting his lightsaber and Vader walking towards him, saying "You should not have come back" as it fades into black.

	GREAT ideas, guys! So what do you think about the legality of all this? If I were to post it, would Lucas be after my head? Oh, funny little story... I have a few full scenes logged in... I tried little music cuts... or instance, I scored the Obi-Luke scene at his Tatooine homestead... and when he mentions Anakin (when Luke says I wish I'd known him) I threw in the subtle Anakin theme from the end of AOTC credits... really worked I'm a firm believer that not everything needs to be scored, but it was a little fun throwing some PT cues onto the OT... like Duel of the Fates on the Obi-Vader duel. 	Posting it would be no different than a fanfilm, so no you wouldn't be in trouble from Lucas (Assuming you don't charge money, or start claiming it's actual Episode III footage). 	this is an original idea, realy good, i think you should use the love theme from ep. 2 also. you should play the trailer as if weve waited 20 years for it(similiar to ep. 1) good luck.

	This sounds really interesting I'd love to see the finished results, if you do decide to go ahead with the project. If I was making a teaser trailer like this, it would probably go something like this: 20th Century Fox Logo Lucasfilm Logo Fade to black. V.O. "Years ago, you served my father during the Clone Wars. Now he begs you to help him. This is our most desperate hour. Help me Obi Wan Kenobi, you are my only hope." Close Up - Obi Wan, his chin resting in his hands, ponders the message. V.O. ( continues over the next series of shots, as Vader's theme begins to play ) "I have just received word that the Emperor has dissolved the Imperial Senate permanently. The last remnants of the Old Republic have been swept away. Fear will keep the local systems in line. Fear of this battle station." Close Up - Tarkin stands in the Death Star conference room. Wide Shot - The Falcon resting in the hangar bay of the Death Star. Wide Shot - The blockade runner is pursued by a Star Destroyer over Tatooine. Wide shot - A shot of the Death Star above Yavin. As Tarkin's voice over finishes, we cut to a close up of Princess Leia. Close Up Leia - "No ! Alderaan is peaceful... we have no weapons... you can't possibly... Close Up - Tarkin "I grow tired of asking, so this will be the last time. Where is the Rebel base ?" We then cut back to Obi Wan in his hut. Obi Wan - "She needs your help. I'm getting to old for this" Close Up - Luke stands in front of the burning homestead. He looks down at the floor, and then a look of determined resignation crosses his face. V.O. "I want to learn the ways of the force, and become a Jedi like my father." Duel Of The Fates begins to play, and the shots now come in rapid succession. Mos Eisley - We see the speeder passing into the space port ( new CG sequence from the 97 special edition ). Close Up - Han Solo - "Han Solo. Chewie here tells me you need passage to the Alderaan system..." Close up - Chewbacca. Three or four quick shots from the Falcon vs TIE fighters escape sequence. Alderaan - The planet explodes ! V.O. "I fear something terrible has happened." Fade to black. We hear Darth Vader's breathing. Wide shot - Vader stands in the Death Star corridor, his lightsabre ignited. "You should not have come back." Close up - Vader and Kenobi lock sabres. Title Card - STAR WARS EPISODE IV - A NEW HOPE THE SAGA CONTINUES.

	Star Wars would not have been as popular if only Episodes I through III had been released and hence not many people would care about episodes 4 through 6. Thats just the plain truth of it. Star Wars IV-VI was based on painstaking research by Lucas on mythological stories. As such, the story is more or less timeless and the characters are very relatable. But the prequels are more dependent on the original trilogy for its "cool" factor. Here's what Yoda looked like. Here's what the Old Republic looked like. Etc. It doesn't stand very well on its own. Thats just my 2 cents. -----signature----- Just say no to the prequels.

	Did this topic EVEN ASK if Star Wars would be popular if it began with the prequel trilogy? We are all aware that the prequels are better viewed AFTER seeing the original films(They're PREQUELS, not predecessors), and that the secret twists of the OT would be ruined, BUT THAT IS NOT WHAT THIS THREAD WAS ABOUT Anyway, I really hope somebody makes that six episode supertrailer one of these days. -----signature-----

Episode I would've been the first time you saw Sabers, Jedi, the Force, Yoda, Tatooine. Jar Jar even would've been grand as there'd be no ESB to compare him to. It would've been a viual peice beyond anything possibly seen to that point and would have been more evenly judged. Not: 'What? Not ESB part Deux!?' For the last shot hmmm... 	That's why I envy the kids not born yet or the young kids of today. As they grow, they're going to discover all 6 movies and watch them in order. It's all going to be new to them. We can never do that.
