Um...the Ewoks look like little bears. Last time I checked when provoked, a bear can easily kill a man.
Yes but normally the bear is much larger than the man. It should have been wookies with bow blasters rather than Ewoks with sticks. Sure they surrounded the stormtroopers, but 30+ guys with heavy guns are going to easily take out 200 little furry creatures armed only with sticks.

But because they didn't respect (or befriend/elimate) the ewoks, the rebels found out about it, and then used the ewoks as cannon fodder. The novelization said that the ewoks were being killed wholesale, the only reason the Empire couldn't beat them was they were pouring onto the battlefield faster then they could be killed.
I would have liked to have seen that on screen. It would have made the whole thing a lot more tolerable.
As it stands now, all we se is 2 or 3 ewoks die, while the imperials get massacred completed.

Upon reflection i don't find the Ewok battle as unbelievable, as the space battle. After seeing Republic cruisers, and Seperatist starships battle in ROTS, i think of all those Star Destroyers in ROTJ, and they should have wiped out the Alliance ships. But they really didn't even engage. Now i know the Emporer "had something special planned", but the Death Star only fired twice, i think.
After the space/ewok battle I'd also add Boba and Sids defeat/death as also being iffy after the PT.

If you pay close attention,just as the scene is coming to an end you can see a rebel troop on the left side of the screen leaning against the bunker.Doesn't matter though,it comes off awful.
To me just about all the battles in Jedi end iffy.But it's a Star Wars tradition to have these goofy endings to fights/battles/and weird moments during,all the movies except Empire have them.

Rourke's drift was actualy a british victory, I think the battle your thinking of is Isandlwana. The zulus actualy had many more firearms than the Zulu movies portrayed, though many were antiques by that time, brown bess muskets and similar weapons.
I don't really have a problem with the Endor battle, but I think seeing the ewoks pick up blasters and use them would have made the battle more believable.

There's a lot of things we didn't see. Personally I thought it would've been cool to see the Ewoks ride in on giant wild boars crushing the stormtroopers and ramming into AT-STs. It would've been like the Battle of Pellenor Fields in Lord of the Rings. That's one thing Star Wars never gets right but Lord of the Rings got right. Intense ground battles.

True, we didn't see that ewok use it(or any other ewoks in ROTJ), but he was celebrating at the time. More than likely, he saw Chewie and his ewok "co-pilots" lay waste to the Stormtroopers and other AT-STs.

I don't know, I thought the battle of Hoth in ESB was really intense

that's true, just because we didn't see it doesn't mean it didn't happen, I just thought It would have been cool to see. You could see 10 ewoks tackle a stormtrooper and hold him down, one pulls off his helmet, and one puts a blaster to his face and fires.

Bottom line, until Luke and company showed up to motivate/anger against/train/become clan-members/ AND provide guidence to the Ewoks, the Ewoks were like insects to the stormtroopers. And the Ewoks, for their part, could have cared less about fighting the stormtroopers. Until Luke and company showed up, there is no evidence that the stormtroopers provoked the Ewoks to the point of all out war.

that's true, just because we didn't see it doesn't mean it didn't happen, I just thought It would have been cool to see. You could see 10 ewoks tackle a stormtrooper and hold him down, one pulls off his helmet, and one puts a blaster to his face and fires.
That would have been pretty gruesome/cool. Also, it would have sweet to have some the rebel commandos play "green beret" and train up some of the ewoks in basic blaster skills( marksmanship, maintenance, safety, etc..)

It's a heavy blaster cannon. They were on Coruscant and were shown in the beginning of Dark Empire.
