I think Chris would win the duel, seeing as Alec is a dead body

I think they're both great actors. From the SW films alone, I would say Alec. From films in general, well that's tough.

Christopher Lee, in the films I've seen him in, sometimes has a slight hammy feel to his acting...but that's also the charm.

Sadly, ANH is the only movie I've seen Alec Guiness in, so I really can't compare them acting wise.
Any suggestions for good movies with him?

The Bridge on the River Kwai
was a wonderful picture as was
Doctor Zhivago
. If you really want to see Mr. Guinness(two 'n's by the way) in a wide range of roles, I recommend
Hitler: The Last Ten Days
. There are a number of films that really showcase his talent. They're well worth the watch.

Using just their performances in the movies, I'd have to say Alec was the better actor. Lee's performance, especially the little bit in ROTS, just seemed . . out of place. He hammed it up big time in ROTS, but did a good job in AOTC. However, Alec's acting in ANH really takes the cake. . he provides a great transition to the OT without ever seeing any of the prequels.
As for the lightsaber fight, I think Christopher would win. . he actually has some moves, rather than just hitting the other guy's lightsaber.

ok guinness is the better acter no question there. but lee would win the sward fight. lee was trained as a swordsman long ago. guinness learned a few moves for ANH.

OK I LOVE classic horror (nearly on par with SW) the Hammer films were a niche all of their own, Lee ruled in that roll (ok not so much as Bella did, but it was a different take on the character). And he definately was a staple of the horror genre of his day. (Horror Express: starring Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing, two great actors in one of the cheesiest horror films of the time)
Really I'm conflicted to vote against him. But when it comes to acting ability I really have to stand with Alec as the better actor.

Also, check out
Lawrence Of Arabia
, which features Alec in a nice role.
