	Sir Alec. Lee is a solid actor but he has chosen to typecast himself. Guinness was far more versatile and took risks.

	Based on their performances in Star Wars movies, I'd have to go with Sir Alec of course. Both actors have (had) a carreer that backs them up in a huge way. But for me, Ben Kenobi is a better charachter than Count Dooku. Moleman1138, you make aponit here. Christopher Lee is a little bit typecasted as Dracula. 	Guiness was the superior actor all around, something I'm confident that Lee would agree with (unless he has some personal vendetta against Guiness). Lee does, however, has a VERY commanding presence. The man could read a phone book and you'd have an immediate feeling that you were listening to the divine words of your favorite diety read via his/her/its avatar/mouthpiece. Since it was brought up, if both were alive (even at their prime ages), I would have to give any sword or knife fight to Lee with at LEAST 8-1 odds as Lee's had more weapon and combat experience (Guiness was in the Navy, but Lee has some still classified activities (he's alluded to having first hand knowledge of how a man sounds when you stab him in the back)). It's sort of a shame that he came to the Dooku role later in life and that the fighting needed more acrobatics and CGI, limiting what he could do himself.

	I've seen Chris in more films than Alec. So I'll say they're equal. And on the issue of the sword fight. Both Alec and Chris were trained in the art of fencing long before they were in SW. 	Very hard to judge between two greats. Guinness was very good and made Obi-wan a genuinely believable character, but Lee's absolutely amazing as Dooku. The man just turned 83, so I don't blame him for not doing the saberfighting in the PT, he's seen plenty of swashbuckling action as a younger man, both in his movies and IRL. 	Alec Guiness is a much better actor, even though he hated Star Wars later on in his life cause he knew that the public would forget everything else he did. Same for the lightsaber duel question. -----signature----- I have a bad feeling about this.

	just based on body of work alec is the beter actor. bridge on the river kwiei, lawerence of arabia oliver twist docter zhivago and those are just a few of his collaborations with david lean the first one earned him an oscer. the man was fantastic chris lee was a horror star. talented for his parts but not a great dramatic actor. his roles are mostly over the top. still love him but there realy is no question that alec was a finer example of a great actor in the classical sense. -----signature----- so lonestar you see that evil will always triumph over good, because good is dumb! kneel before zod...er I mean valorum
