RE: Official Thread: Quick and/or Random Questions About the Classic Trilogy
They're still there on the floor. I can't remember exactly what scene its in, but I do remember rewinding the movie to see what it was...and lo and behold it was the binders. I think it might be the scene when Darth Vader says, "There is no conflict". But I'm not entirely 100% sure.

RE: Official Thread: Quick and/or Random Questions About the Classic Trilogy
I guess it's only a line, but I'm amazed at how one of the best jokes in the film has gone over some people's heads.
If it's supposed to be a joke though the meaning wouldn't be readily apparent if it was just in writing. So surely the script would have explained the line by stating explicitly that Threepio was mistaken. However, it doesn't appear to offer any clarification. All it does say is this:
INTERIOR: LIFEPOD.
Artoo and Threepio look out at the receding Imperial starship.
Stars circle as the pod rotates through the galaxy.
THREEPIO: That's funny, the damage doesn't look as bad from out here.
Artoo beeps an assuring response.
THREEPIO: Are you sure this thing's safe?
I don't think that anyone reading that would understand that the line is meant as a joke. It also implies that Artoo doesn't disagree with what Threepio says. The novelisation of ANH doesn't have the line at all which is pretty shabby treatment for one of the 'best jokes'.
I also still don't understand how Threepio made such a mistake. If he had mistaken the giant star destroyer for his own ship, then where did he think the Imperial ship that had captured it(which must be even larger) had gone to?

RE: Official Thread: Quick and/or Random Questions About the Classic Trilogy
This is probably a stupid question, but: In ROTJ, for the moon of Endor, did you take it as a moon of the planet Endor, or a moon by the name of Endor? I have always been somewhat confused about this...In the films they usually just call it "The moon of Endor". Is Endor a planet, or the name of a moon?

It's a moon of the gas giant planet Endor.

Does it have a name? So in Episode VI they are on a moon
of
the planet Endor, not a moon called Endor?

The Forest Moon, or The Sanctuary Moon, of Endor. Guess they couldn't be bothered to give it its own official name.

What's been posted above is correct. These pages might be helpful:
Endor (Gas Planet)
Endor (Forest Moon, etc.)

The planet Endor itself has vanished before ROTJ. Draw your own conclusions as to how that happened.

RE: Official Thread: Quick and/or Random Questions About the Classic Trilogy
The Wookiepedia link above includes a reference to the game Battlefront.
It should be pointed out that the depiction of the Endor system in that game is clearly an error.
What the game intends to be the planet Endor is, in fact, the Forest Moon as seen from orbit in ROTJ. The object intended in the game to be the Forest Moon is a smaller sphere which looks, from space, like a circular snapshot of a forest canopy.

Did Ob-Wan know what to say to Luke when he asked him how his father died? It seemed like he hesitated to think of an answer.

Since I'm at work and have neither book nor movie for reference... Which number did the platform Luke landed on in Cloud City have? Is it mentioned anywhere?
