I barely notice a difference, so why bother? It's neither faster, nor more intense. The only thing that's glaringly obvious is the missing dialogue and that makes it boring and pointless. And their words actually speak louder than their actions.

TPM's DotF works the way it does because they don't talk to each other.

Indeed. The ONLY way that music could work in that scene would be if something new was written for it that was slower and much more personal. Any of the existing music, such as DOTF or BOTH, would not work as it is much too fast.

I saw one a long time ago where they mixed in Padme's Ruminitions and then transitioned to BotH, and it actually worked quite well. It was obviously rough, but you could see the potential.

Edit: Hell I'll just post a link - (right-click, save target as)

I agree, the music doesnt fit the confrontation at all. It's also way too loud; it should be more in the background. Otherwise you can't hear the lines, lol.

Edit: that was nice, but I'm still not sure BOTH is the right piece for that scene. But I se potential there.

Does this scene exist anywhere?

It might be on T'Bone's site. If not, I know that there are pictures of it.

Digitally replace Alec with Ewan

Incorprate Jar Jar in all three movies someway to provide more tie ins with the PT to show that there are no inconsitent tones and plot errors

Okay, two questions. First, why would you replace an actor who had a good deal of screen time in all three movies with another actor? Don't say PT tie-in, because Alec and Ewan look remarkably similar. Second, what possible purpose would adding Jar Jar in to all three movies serve when it comes to the story? PT tie-ins are one thing, but those that have nothing to do with the story end up being shameless tie-ins that serve no purpose whatsoever. Besides, Jar Jar not being in the films is not a plot error in any sense of the term.

Butt, I like that video a lot better than the previous one, but it still does nothing for me to hear any sort of epic music during the ANH duel. I really don't think there's any edit that can be made to that scene which would increase the excitement. The cue used at the end of the video does increase the emotion, though.

An interesting exercise, but any score added to the Obi-Wan/Vader duel cannot interfere with the dialog, and therefore should be subtle and well-timed. Think of Qui-Gon's Theme when he makes Obi-Wan promise to train Anakin, or Vader's theme when he dies on the DSII: a soft, somber Battle Of The Heroes statement as they approach each other. Would a reprise of the Duel Of The Fates "Sith" theme work for the appearance of Vader in Obi-Wan's path work, like when Maul appears in the Theed hangar? Possibly, but the segue doesn't naturally follow to action score (as TLJ has pointed out above).

For the moment when Obi-Wan sees Luke and sacrifices himself, I think a short, soft reprise of Qui-Gon's theme would be appropriate, but it might be hard to work into the iconic "Ben's Death and TIE Fighter Attack" cue.

Well, there is that rhythm of strings at the beginning (and end) of the BotH track, that's nowhere in RotS. But if it's nowhere in RotS, the connection might get lost. And it's really short and quickly goes into the (I think) trumpets.

Though how much sense does it make to have any music at all when Burtt says they made it a point to have no music during the duels and Dark Side Beckons is the only real exception in the CT.

Good point, but we all know how much everybody loves Ben Burtt!
