I don't know of any evidence that supports the entire academy becoming part of the Rebellion.

I always thought that all three of the main characters have a connection to the Empire. I thought I remember reading somewhere that Han use to work for the Empire or some form of it and he had to leave because he saved Chewie. Then there is Leia who is part of the Imperial senate even though she hates the empire, and Luke wants to be a fighter pilot so he has to do that by working for the empire. I think it doesnt mean they agree with their politics or want to help them in their evil crusade, but there really isnt any other place to get a job.

I think there are a few possibilities. Luke was referring to the Imperial Academy, and was planning on getting the training and then defecting, or it was a generic flight school. To the best of my knowledge he doesn't specifically say "Imperial Academy", he just says Academy. That leaves open plenty of room to suggest it could have been a separate entity. I think he makes it clear in ANH that he didn't like the Empire at all, so if he was referring to the Imperial Academy, it makes total sense that he would do what Biggs does...But, a separate non Imperial controlled flight academy would also make sense. But I don't think he wanted to become an Imperial for the sake of being an Imperial, I think like Biggs, he was planning on using the Empire to gain the skills and experience to either join the rebellion, or become a freighter pilot or something...anything to get off of Tatooine.

I think it's implyed. By the end of ROTS. But, I may be reading too much into that.

The Imperial Academy isn't in RotS.

Fair enough. But, at the end of the movie ObiWan says "I will take the boy with me." That's important because there had been a dividing line. The Sith continued the Imperial way and the Jedi broke off to being the rebellion. So it is all implyed.

jedimasterbac posted: That answers that he hated the Empire, but regardless he still wanted to go to the Imperial Academy. I can point you to countless sources backing that up.
When they were kids, Luke and Biggs made plans to join the Imperial Academy so they could learn to be exceptional pilots. They also planned to serve the Empire for only a few years before purchasing their own starship and starting a business together. However, fate stepped in and Biggs defected from the Empire to join the Rebel Alliance . . . and Luke was drawn into the Rebellion by the arrival of C3-P0 and R2-D2.
The Sith continued the Imperial way and the Jedi broke off to being the rebellion.
The surviving Jedi were not the driving force behind the rebellion. That honor goes to politicians like Bail Organa and Mon Mothma.

True, but if not for the remaining Jedi the Rebellion would have been in serious trouble due to the Death Star.

What Jedi Rebellion? Are you talking about Luke and Obi-Wan in ANH?
Their contribution was minor . . . even with the Death Star's destruction. It certainly didn't help them in ESB.

I never said there was a "Jedi Rebellion." However if not for Luke(the last Jedi), the Death Star would have destroyed the Rebel base and Leia would have been executed by the Empire.

There was no " Jedi Rebellion". Palpatine has a Second in Command Sith Lord, Lots of Fleets, and hundreds of StormTrooopers, NCO's, CO's, and countless others. if there was any mention of a Jedi Rebellion,, you can bet that palpatine will quell it.
