by killing Sidious, does Vader become a Sith Master (until his death minutes later)?

At that time, Vader was on the light side of the Force, due to the nature of why he killed Sidious. Technically he would have been the Dark Lord, even if he didn't want the title at the end.

Of course, but he would be in violation of the Rule of Two (a master and an apprentice).

Umm, how? The rule states that there can be no more than two-not that there cannot be less than two, as that is obviously going to happen from time to time. tongue

though she doesn't see herself as much of a Sith by her own admission. Though I don't think we need Lumiya wink

by that logic, Obi-Wan was the new Sith Apprentice after killing Maul? (Or the Master if he believed at the time that was the Master?) o_O

In both cases a Jedi killed the Sith, becoming ... nothing at all.

The inherant difference is that Obi was always a Jedi, whereas Vader was a Sith. In a technical sense by killing his master he did take over the mantle of Dark Lord, but if he had truly turned to the light then it's a moot point because that mantle would no longer apply to him.

No, Vader did not become a Sith Master. When he defeated the Emperor he was an allie of the Jedi. He was no longer a Sith. It's just like asking if Yoda would have become a Sith Master if he accomplished his mission in destroying the Emperor. It just doesn't work like that.
