top 3 best pilots in the OT?

If you had to rank who you think the best 3 pilots of the OT were who would they be in order of best to not so best?
i would say 1.)han solo
2.)darth vader
3.)luke skywalker
but thats just my opinion what do you guys think? it can be anyone good enough.

Based strictly on the OT, there's not much basis to list Vader as the best pilot, aside from Obi-Wan's remark that "he was the best star pilot in the galaxy".
From visual evidence, I'd go with:
1. Han (asteroid field, escape from Mos Eisley)
2. Wedge
3. Lando (Battle of Endor)
The Skywalkers may have been the best pilots, but we don't see them demonstrate that much in the OT.

I agree with these three based on the movies. In the EU Luke's supposed to be the hot shot of all of Rogue Squadron, and it doesn't get better than that.

True, going solely on the films your list is definitely more accurate.

I say humbug to the two mods and go with
1. Vader
2. Luke
3. Han
It's who are the best pilots, not who does the best flying in the movies. One usually followes the other, but movies being movies there are a lot of extraordinary circumstances to skew the visual results.
Wedge displays some amazing piloting in all 3 movies, that doesn't make me believe he wouldn't be toast against Vader.

well luke was amazing during the death star battle in ANH and was also the 2nd best pilot in the battle of hoth next to Wedge.i would say Chewbacca was excellent too just off the fact that he was hans co-pilot.the real question is who would win in a space fight,vader or han?

I would have to agree...with Vaders skills..and ability to see into in the future I find it hard to belive anyone except Luke could rival him...
A more accurate comparison is 9 year old Anakin vs Han

Actually if you think about it, Any Pilot in the OT, who didn't die was great.
Droids managed to give a member of the Jedi High Council trouble, I see no reason to scoff at Han being able to challenge Vader.
